[Music] browsing google earth may seem like a waste of time for you but thanks to people who spend hours of their lives pouring over it we have this list today today we're going to be seeing 15 of the strangest things people found on google earth number 15 ancient wheels these wheel shaped structures can be found dotting jordan's asrock oasis these ancient geoglyphs may date back from 8 500 years making them older than peru's geoglyphs called the nazca lines they also seem to be positioned in a way that aligns with sunrise on the winter solstice giving them some ancient religious significance the wheels vary in their design with some showing spokes that radiate from the center others simply have just one or two bars rather than spokes and still others aren't circular at all and instead shaped like squares rectangles or even triangles number 14 undiscovered pyramid now here's something you definitely don't see every day this image from google earth shows an anomaly that some believe could be an unexcavated pyramid given how long people have been exploring the land of the pharaohs finding a previously undiscovered pyramid sounds highly unlikely however there are probably more out there very beneath the hot desert sands dozens of anomalies in egypt have been detected using google earth in the past five years however there is a debate as to whether they represent natural features or artificial structures more excavations are needed but the security and economic situation in egypt has limited the number and size of excavations number 13 a weird pentagram on the windblown steps of central asia in an isolated corner of kazakhstan there is a large pentagram measuring roughly 1200 feet in diameter etched into the earth's surface the five-pointed star surrounded by a circle located on the southern shore of the upper tobol reservoir shows up vividly on google maps the online version of the more detailed google earth many online comments link the site with devil worship nefarious religious sex or denizens of the underworld however the reasons for the giant star's existence is actually neither dark nor nefarious the pentagram turns out to be the outline of a park made in the form of a star the star itself is marked by roadways that are now lined with trees making the star shape even more distinct in aerial photos number 12 abandoned missile launch site from 1954 to the 1970s the united states was dotted with missile sites armed with nike missiles a kind of supersonic surface-to-air missile some of those missiles even carried nuclear warheads and were always primed to launch but with the development of icbms or intercontinental ballistic missiles the nike quickly became obsolete here is one of those sites the oahu defense area in hawaii shown in 1968 the site was once equipped with missiles and open air with embankments between paired launch sites we have this photo today thanks to david tewksbury a geographic system information specialist at hamilton college in new york he is preserving a visual record of the abandoned nike missile launch sites before they vanish either as a result of being reclaimed by nature repurposed by the military or even redeveloped his plan is to build a geo-referenced database so that anyone can research the nike missile sites to google earth number 11 holy syria the civil war in syria has endangered hundreds of ancient archaeological sites including causing damage to all six of the unesco world heritage sites located in the country which is considered one of the oldest occupied areas of the earth google earth satellites have shown much of this devastation with some of the strangest imagery showing destruction in apomia there google earth images have revealed the entire ancient the volcano's crater called crater lake because it's filled with water the island around the crater is the volcano itself which is also an island located in tao lake tall lake is then on the island of luzon the largest island of the philippines okay we all cut up now good i'm not explaining it again this phenomenon was long thought to be the largest of its kind ever spotted on google earth that was until the very next entry that was found number nine an island in a lake on i'm not doing this you know how this goes the world's the largest island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island in a lake there you go is on a narrow four acre strip of land in canada located at exactly 69.793 degrees north to 108.241 degrees west the nameless island which is that little tilt-shaped squiggle of green lows across the center of a small lake which is itself encapsulated by a slightly larger island that resides inside one series of longer finger lakes located 75 miles inland from the southern coast of victoria island a land feature in northern canada this little sub-sub-sub-island would never have been found and received its strange distinction if not for careful trolling of google earth by map geeks around the world which is probably the only way for people to see the place because in all likelihood no humans ever actually set foot there number eight the biggest word literally hamad bin hamdan al-nayan is a billionaire sheikh and member of abu dhabi's ruling family and what does he do with his billions well like any self-respecting billionaire with dewey had his name carved into the sandy surface of futalsi island an island he owns in the persian gulf at half a mile tall and two miles long altogether the letters hamad may be the world's largest and regardless they're visible from space normally words written in sand wash away but these layers are large enough to form waterways that absorb the encroaching tide indeed at the time of these satellite photographs were taken said tie can be seen flowing through the letters all the way to the m number seven strange patterns in the gobi new found google earth images have revealed an array of mysterious structures and patterns etched into the surface of china's gobi desert experts are divided in speculations as to what they are the most popular guess being that this is a secret military base and the structures are used for a variety of purposes including weapons testing spy satellite calibration and testing of radar instrumentation well we found it on google earth it's not really a secret now is it the most elaborate feature is an intricate grid of perfectly straight lines that weave back and forth every few hundred feet for 20 miles is most likely a yangi antenna array a device used for weather tracking and other atmospheric research number six worldwide advertising considering the number of people who troll google earth in their free time it isn't surprising that enormous advertisements have started popping up in remote areas for their viewing pleasure a concept known as map fertizing the entire thing may sound weird to you but it makes perfect sense for companies to do this because aside from the cost of making these humongous billboards it's basically free advertising the world's largest coca-cola logo for example can be seen on a hillside in chile and it's said to be made of seventy thousand empty coke bottles and this photo was quite obviously an eighty seven thousand five hundred square foot picture of colonel sanders number five military facilities or not this image created as stir back in 2013 when an xci analyst told wired.com that he had found mysterious structures in the desert around koshkar a city in china's remote western desert that is part of the xinjiang province the site includes several large buildings including a large u-shaped building and some of the buildings at the site are nearly 350 feet long in the wake of china's anti-satellite test at the time it wasn't surprising the speculation exploded the truth however is a little less explosive the area is probably part of an initiative to develop the region into a major manufacturing or economic center in tucson arizona is where u.s military planes go to die dubbed the boneyard this 2600 acre cemetery of steel at coordinates 3208 59.96 north to 110 500 9.03 west is close to the general public but google earth provides a high resolution glimpse of what's inside virtually every plane in the military has flown since world war ii as a local of tucson arizona who's actually been to here and seen a number two sea monsters today's best pick shows us a photo of what seems to be a giant crab crabzilla if you will could it be a real creature could it be a hoax who knows what we do know his images of giant unidentified creatures have been seen on google earth since its inception kind of like this for instance which made the rounds on the internet back in 2016. people seem to think that this is
