hey everyone and welcome back to film focus storage wars has captured the imaginations of countless fans and they really made the world of storage locker auctions look exciting and sexy it's too bad they weren't able to keep up the charade and they really let a lot of people down with their mistakes we're going to break down how storage wars has officially ended as well as why they were allowed to screw up so badly and for so long before anyone noticed an issue don't forget to like this video and subscribe the film focus also comment storage and we'll give a lucky winner a shout-out in the next video number 10 dave Hester trouble if he follow storage wars at all you know all about dave Hester who still shows up on the show to cause the scene from time to time nobody seems to like Dave and he seems completely ok with this actively baiting everyone around him Hester is a bit of an ass and he is almost always in the wrong when it comes to his arguments he even had it out with the producers and sued the show on multiple occasions his legal team has even gone at trey songz for supposedly using his catchphrase which is nothing more than a long drawn-out obnoxious yep what a joker he also publicly stated that the entire show was staged and that was the basis of his lawsuit we think that claim is probably legit but his lawsuit was kind of ridiculous considering the fact that he was banking because of storage wars at the time true to form Dave decided that everyone was against him and lashed out for no reason at all against people who were actually trying to give him a hand his god complex an ego really are astronomically large and we can't imagine how someone could become so petty deep down inside Dave's claims included the fact that lockers were bought ahead of time by producers and that he was getting unfairly screwed as a result because they didn't like him if that's the case then maybe he should not have gone out of his way to annoy every single person around him and producers would have liked him more he shot himself in the foot there but his tantrum has threatened the entire show and he could very well end up in screwing over everyone else involved with the show with his whiny nonsense we feel that we should point out that Dave was fired before he made these allegations for cheating and purposely overhauling his lockers just himself look good when asked to stop he refused and was sent packing this proves more than anything that his lawsuits and general troublemaking are nothing more than his way to save face after being fired even though he really had it coming and should have just walked away with his tail between his legs number nine bye-bye Barry many fans have said that they're relieving the show was the beginning of the end and that they just couldn't stay interested without his shenanigans to keep them entertained Barry was the lovable Joker and was quite a character he made a fortune back in the day and lived a very colorful life showing off every chance he could while making everyone laugh at the same time he was less interested in making money than having fun and he was the comic relief that storage wars desperately needed when he left the show he left a void that just couldn't be replaced according to the show's fans and they slowly moved on it doesn't help that Barry also came out with his own spin-off TV show not long after he and the storage wars team parted ways calling his show buried treasure it's kind of cute right his show wasn't long-lived but helped to spur a whole slew of storage wars clone shows to pop up all over the place putting the original show under a lot of stress to keep up with their new competition it also oversaturated the market for these sorts of shows and the ratings at storage wars have been slowly declining since Barry started the ball rolling storage wars always needed a joker to help balance out the overly aggressive group and without Barry to keep people entertained the fights and arguments that arose started to get boring to watch number 8 Daryl wants more money daryl is a bit of a character on storage wars and isn't the brightest bulb he's known for getting himself into a lot of trouble by saying the wrong thing or otherwise sticking his foot in his mouth he was always going at it with Barry and the two of them created some hilarious scenes with their banter Daryl was also a little abrasive more often than not but seemed to be a relatively good guy when all is said and done he was a little too dismissive of anyone who disagreed with him which is laughable considering how big of an idiot he was on the show but it looks like his days are done Daryl got upset when Brandon was cut from the show but didn't make too much of a stink about it for the most part what he did get angry about was that the show didn't pay him more money after Brandon was let go he figured that without Brandon there was a bigger cut for him but neglected to think about the fact that Brandon was cut specifically to trim the show's budget so asking for more money at that point was a dumb move all around not only did he seriously piss off Brandon who got upset because Darrell didn't care about him at all but he angered the producers who just couldn't get him to understand that he wasn't worth as much money as he thought he was Darrell continued to push the subject and could not admit that he was overstepping his bounds we aren't sad to see him go but this show will be much less entertaining without him and many fans wonder what the point of it is without their favorites leaving these days number 7 the show is staged despite Dave's lawsuit being completely stupid in almost every way we have to admit that we kind of support him for outing the producers for staging the show fans always thought they were watching actual auctions and not just another fake reality show but they ended up being let down in a big way the world of auctions can be exciting at times but it isn't always worthy of primetime and the producers wanted a way to keep fans coming back for more high ticket items and strategically placed lockers was a great way to accomplish that but the producers ended up taking things way too far a perfect example is the time when Brandi and Jarrod found a live moose in one of the lockers they bought which is just downright stupid that kind of move is a clear indication that the show is fake and breaks all the immersion that viewers are supposed to enjoy there's no way anyone ever put a live moose in a locker and then walked away and we're sure that nobody who rents storage units would allow that as anything other than a TV stunt anyway this kind of over-the-top staging of lockers just for lowbrow giggles takes a lot of value out of the show and is a huge reason why fans just don't care to watch it anymore they like the idea of pretending they can go out and do these things but when you start making these things look obviously fake then the show becomes nothing more than a skit show about yelling numbers at a person in front of a crowd not that appealing as far as we're concerned and it looks like producers are learning that the hard way now and they don't have much of a show to work with number six Brandi and Jarrod spin off Brandi and Jarrod much like Barry cost a lot of trouble for storage wars when they decided they could start up their own show and make it even better in the end their show did okay for a little bit before tanking quite wondrously but at that point the damage was already done their edition of yet another reality show based on storage wars notoriety was ill-timed and was another big factor in viewership dropping across the board there was just too many shows for fans to keep up with and they ended up seizing up because there was just too much to choose from not only did Brandi and Jarrod show end up fizzling out but seeing too much of them even led to storage wars reruns seeing less viewers because people were just done with them and their antics to be fair it wasn't just this one spin-off that caused an issue but when the stars of storage wars leave to work on other projects it's a clear sign that things aren't going well producers have struggled to compete with these losses by bringing more and more awkward characters in to fill the gaps but at this point it seems all very forced and it seems like most of the show's fans agree with that sentiment number 5 mark balelo's death the death of mark balelo was tragic and affected the show deeply not only was one of their more endearing characters gone but they also had to deal with a huge amount of backlash people were upset that the show pushed balelo too hard it's also said that they knew he was suffering from depression and tried to have that information swept under the rug so it wouldn't affect the ratings when that came to light it was clear that the producers of the show really are terrible people and many fans are convinced that their actions directly led to balelo suicide number 4 a moose is too much as we mentioned earlier staging a bye with the moose in a locker is just crossing some kind of line fans hated this addition to the show which we can only assume was okayed by a producer who also happens to be a meth head this stunt didn't make for good TV and only push the show's already angry fans further away number three dan and Laura get argumentative one of the show's issues that fans don't bring up much probably because there's already so much controversy to talk about is that Dan and Laura can be amazingly unprofessional at times and let their personal feelings about buyers affect the outcome of their auctions Dave once got in their faces about the fact that they overlooked him on purpose when he was bidding causing him to lose out on a great Locker Dan and Laura did do exactly that and instead of owning it or letting it go they got into a huge yelling match in front of everyone else making matters much worse buyers getting angry at each other is expected but when the auctioneers start having to go at customers who have a valid complaint then it's time to step back and reevaluate how you're doing things at the end of the day we wouldn't go to any of Dan or Laura's auctions after seeing the way they pick their favorites and screw over every bidder as much as they can they are also just a little too confrontational when called out for cheating the system and many fans really dislike their attitude number two producers admit guilt while producers remain tight-lipped about a lot of the controversy surrounding the show they did finally have to admit they staged the majority of the buys to keep up public interest this announcement caused a lot of the wrong type of interest and the show dealt with a massive PR backlash with regard to their auctions and subsequent denial that any staging was taking place they were so adamant about the authenticity of their show right up until the point they had to admit it was all fake that people were rightfully pissed off and it looks like this is one PR nightmare that storage wars probably isn't going to be able to bounce back from number one Brandi's surgery one of the less known controversy surrounding storage wars is that they're desperate for ratings and the show's producers will sink pretty low in order to get them staged lockers and unnecessary lawsuits aside they really lost faced when it was revealed that the show decided to foot the bill for Brandis plastic surgery to help make her more appealing to viewers we think that's pretty low even for a reality TV show and a lot of their old fans thought so too this revelation lost the show a ton of support especially because brandi had already made so much money off the show that she could absolutely afford her own plastic surgery this unrelenting drive for more controversy more appealing characters and higher ratings has taken a lot of the innocent out of the show and all of Byers featured on it other buyers were also outraged about Brandis surgery threatening to leave the unless they were compensated as well nobody else had their bills paid for other than the regular paychecks and this move was seen by favoritism this ended up causing the producers a lot of grief especially when jarrod and Brandi pieced out to take care of their spin-off and become the competition along with Barry they should not have pissed off the rest of the buyers like that and that rift has put even more pressure on producers there was also a lot of backlash from fans of the show after Brandis surgery with plenty of people deciding that what they did was wrong we don't know about wrong they probably crossed some kind of line of ethics with her decision and we think the whole thing is shady at best
