STILL THE BEST IN 2024? | Cathay Pacific A350 ECONOMY: Sydney to Hong Kong | Trip Report

[Music] hi everyone My Name is Earl and welcome back to bi Manis in today's video we're taking off with Cathy Pacific Airbus a350 900 on flight CX 138 in economy from Sydney to Hong Kong I couldn't check in online for this flight so I headed straight in the selfcheck and kiosks upon arrival to get my boarding passes and Luggage TXS and thanks to my early arrival I also managed to secure some nice seats hi hi just head over to one of those chaos please okay number right before entering security you'll come across this massive sign it turns out to be a popular photo spot among Travelers so I wasted no time and took a snapshot myself the entire check-in process including backdrop security and immigration was quick and straightforward once airide you'll be greeted by numerous duty-free shops and luxury boutiques there's also a good amount of restaurants and fast food options to choose from a to my surprise our flight turned out to be the last departure for the night in the heart of the terminal you'll see the Striking contemporary artwork titled United Nations by Archie Moore it features 28 large Flags honoring and celebrating the diversity of Aboriginal histories and cultures in Sydney and throughout Australia our aircraft for tonight is a 6-year-old Airbus a350 941 Bravo Lima Romeo November thank you [Music] thank you so thank you so much welcome on board cath Pacific a350 flight CX 138 Bound for Hong Kong economy class is laid out in a 333 configuration and my seat for today is 65a as this is a red di flight a small pillow and blanket were provided the leg room is standard but spacious enough for me in the seat back pocket you'll find your headphones the safety card and the cafe and flight magazine the tray table can be folded in half and can be moved back and forth above you'll find the storage compartment perfect for your phone and small items along with the cup holder there's also a coat hook available in the corner of your screen a universal power socket is conveniently located on underneath your seat the headrest can be adjusted vertically and folded inward for added Comfort I'm expecting generally clear flight conditions on the way to Hong Kong although there is always the possibility of a little bit of cloud and light turbulence as we pass to the north of Australia over Papa new guini and south of the Philippines your safety is important to us please take a few minutes to watch our video if you're traveling with hand luggage or large items make sure they're stored in the overhead compartments for takeoff and [Music] Landing the inflight service each passenger receive a bottle of water and a pack of Beni pretzels for snacking Cathy Pacific boasts one of the best inflight Entertainment Systems in the industry the CX library is regularly updated with fresh movies and newly released TV series it offers an extensive collection of Western and K-pop music along with live feeds of BBC and CNN on board for the entertainment catalog features content from leading providers including Paramount plus HBO Max a24 films and the latest Korean dramas dinner took a bit longer to be served and honestly I was quite hungry by this point for tonight's dinner I opted for the stir fried chicken with ginger and shallot sauce bok choy and rice the tray also included a side of smoked salmon and pearl cusu salad cheese and crackers vanilla beans there than that flavored ice cream and a piece of bread and butter I was also very pleased to receive a whole can of Coke Zero for my drink it would have been better though if they provided metal Cutlery similar to what's offered in other CX flights I'm really impressed with the inflight map on this aircraft it's highly interactive offering various options and modes that you can easily navigate the screen is also very responsive making it easy to zoom in and zoom out effortlessly for what I'd like to highlight though is the kids version of the inflight map whether you're traveling with a child or just a kid at heart I find it to be a nice and engaging way to entertain them while also offering an opportunity to learn as we Cruise above the Philippines into the cabin crew preparing for the breakfast service let's take a quick tour of the lavatory but by the way I'm loving the lights around the mirror here you'll find the trash bin napkins a sink with both hot and cold water options hand wash and the standard CX hand gel and lotion plus there aren't just one or two but three coat hooks inside this lavatory let me know know if you can spot the third [Music] [Music] one I always look forward to having breakfast on board especially when flying with CX the Western option featured slic of bacon some greens eggs and the rich tomato sauce the tray also included a serving of fruits yogurt a piece of bread with fruit jam and butter on the side for drinks I pair the meal with orange juice and Hong Kong milk tea as we make our descent into Hong Kong let me wrap up this trip report with cath Pacific our journey started at Sydney airport with a check-in security and immigration processes were quick and hassle-free on board the seat lacked double seat back padding but remained very comfortable cath Pacific's inflight entertainment is loaded with the latest movies and series from leading content providers the interactive inflight map including a version for kids is also a nice touch what I appreciate about flying with cath Pacific to and from Australia is a provision of two full meals on board a dinner and a breakfast as opposed to just a snack for the second meal additionally there was a snack service right after takeoff on a minor note and this is just me nit picking it makes me wonder why they don't provide metal Cutlery for this longer flight when they do so in their shorter flights overall Kathy Pacific provides excellent soft and hard products on their flights to and from Australia I hope they continue to enhance and refine their services as travel returns to prepandemic levels as for the ticket prices the cheapest oneway flight that I could find is $78 Australian dollar or $465 and $1,095 Australian dollar or roughly
