glorious we put our trust in your name jesus able to save and deliver us we put our hope in your name jesus sing blessings all of the praise is yours forever hallelujah hallelujah come on let's try to forgotten that's my favorite part right here see our god is mighty and marvelous we put our trust in your name jesus oh yeah we have nothing to fear you are here with us we put our faith in your name jesus forever [Music] our god is in control steadfast unmovable thank you jesus your ain't [Music] is is now wherever you are i want you to get ready we bout to praise him in him because he reigns over everything one two three wherever you are you're do you believe that this morning that he reigns forever and ever do you believe that online that he's reigning in your life in every situation and every season he's in control he can be trusted with your future i need you to just think back on things that god has already done for you when he's already proven his ability to you and we can give him glory that's a reason to praise him hallelujah he's an unstoppable god nothing can hinder the plans that he has for your life hallelujah i give you glory for all you brought me through and now i'm ready for whatever you want to do you and now i'm ready for whatever you wanna do you're present your is is [Music] you're more than enough [Music] is do you believe that come there's on limit to your presence [Music] we're gonna sing this next part it's just a declaration of our faith i don't know if you're believing god for some things to break through whether it's financially whether it's in your emotions in your family i want you to sing this with conviction say this that i know that breakthrough is coming by faith i see a miracle my god made me a promise and it won't stop now come on lift up your voice he's a wife i know what he said to me for what i can't see right now with my natural eyes but i activate my faith in the spirit realm i believe [Music] we put our trust in you we won't be you know the word of god tells us in philippians chapter 1 verse 6 that we can be confident that god has begun a good work in us so whatever he started in your life he's going to complete it it may look like you're at a standstill right now things may look dead things may look discouraging but i want you to shake off the fear shake off the discouragement shake off the lies that the enemy us this morning i am pastor lee here with my wife martika and we are so delighted to have you this morning in fact martik and i just got back from vacation late last night and i got me a nice little tan i know what y'all are thinking i i know i know what y'all are thinking boy he looks just like denzel washington i i know people stopping me in the airport you know i'm signing autographs i'm trying to tell people i'm not denzel then finally i just said okay i'm him you know i just signed the autograph i'm just kidding but anyway we are so refreshed and it's so good to be back in the house of the lord to worship with the eagle's nest family yes we would love to welcome those of you who are visiting with us for the very first time online and in person as a matter of fact if you're in not be preaching the word today i'm going to be sitting in the audience receiving the word just like you all we have one of our elders and associate pastors uh andre blythe who's going to be bringing the word and i'm telling you it's gonna be great i can't wait i believe he has an on-time word for us this morning so i'm gonna be sitting here on the front row just receiving uh and but i'll be back next week preaching in fact we're starting a new series okay it's an incredible series called just google it just google it yeah we're going to be dealing with some of the most common things that people google and how we can get an answer about those things from a biblical perspective okay you don't want to miss it well now is the time in our service that we call giving back to god it's an important time of worship it is a time where we thank the lord for all he has done for us you know so many times we come to church and we we get our praise on and we sing and and we pray and all of that is very important but i want you to know that giving is just as important because it is an act of worship so i was thinking about what i wanted to say to you all this morning how i wanted to encourage you in this gracious act of giving and i thought about my 25 years in the investment business but before i became a pastor i was an investment advisor and something interesting would happen people who did not care about the stock market all of a sudden when they invested money in the stock market they all of a sudden cared what the dow jones industrial average did now why did they care about it because their money was in it and so i thought about this scripture in matthew 6 21 it's a powerful passage in fact it is often misquoted and i want to challenge you today in your giving based on this passage jesus said this in matthew 6 21 he says for where your treasure is there your heart will also be again where your treasure is where you put your money your heart is going to gravitate to wherever your money is so you see the reason people cared about the stock market is because their money was there and when your money is in something your affections go toward those things money is like gravity it brings things to it so if you invest in your family you're going to care about your family if you invest in the stock market or real estate you're going to care about that but the best investment you can ever make is in the kingdom of god in fact in the preceding verses uh jesus talked about how you can invest um you know if you invest in in worldly things he said uh all kinds of things can happen to it he said rust and moth can eat it away but if you invest in heaven you don't have to worry about it getting stolen so i want to encourage you today ladies and gentlemen first of all actually i want to thank you today for your generosity but i also want to encourage you and challenge you to you know as they say in the world put your treasures where your mouth is you know people would say money where your mouth but really it's it's really not even about that is say whatever you love that's what you're going to invest in so i want to pray for you today i want to pray for all of you who may be struggling financially i want to pray for those of you who may be discouraged and i want to pray for those of you who i want to encourage those of you who are continuing to give and then i'm going to tell you about three ways to give let's pray father in the name of jesus lord we thank you for being so good to us and lord your word says where our treasure is there will our hearts be also so lord i'm praying for those who need encouragement about trusting you with their treasure trusting you lord as they step out on faith and honor you with their giving lord i'm praying that as they are obedient to you that you will bless them in a tremendous way that you will draw their hearts closer to you and that you will bless your church and the kingdom of god jesus belongs to you why does it why does it because you deserve it you deserve it [Applause] come on if he deserves a church give it to him this morning give him the praise that he he deserves it because he is our provider he deserves it because he is our all and our all i'm so grateful to have this opportunity to share god's word with you today and i want to recognize our senior pastor and lady martika this church is so blessed to have them as leaders and i want you to just online and in person give god a big thank you for the leadership that we have in this ministry come on don't take it for granted give god praise for the people he's put here to shepherd over your souls amen well i don't know about you but life can be messy and feel like it is out of control just spinning and those that are online you may say life seems to you like a perpetual roller coaster you know there are slow and steady climbs to high points and deep fast drops to low points but then there are sudden uh curves that we experience there are curves that knock us off they are thrilling but they are also challenging for us not only that then we have calm and straight paths but then we have things that happen in our lives that turn us upside down yes life is like a perpetual roller coaster you see god though in his sovereignty and his infinite wisdom will allow denials delays and disappointments in our lives but god will also allow blunders and blemishes and brokenness but he also gives blessings so god will do all that we need him to do but life can be challenging so today i want to take you to a passage in jeremiah 18 verses 1 through 4 so grab your bible or your mobile device or follow me along on the screen jeremiah 18 verses 1 through 4. and the word of god reads this is the word that came to jeremiah from the lord go down at once to the potter's house there i will reveal my words to you so i went down to the potter's house and there he was working at the wheel but the jar that was he was making of clay from the clay became flawed in the potter's hand so he made it into another jar as it seemed right for him to do let us pray father i thank you right now for this time i thank you for what you're going to speak in this season i thank you that there are people here that need to hear your word people in this audience but people online who need to hear your word today i pray right now that you will use me as a willing vessel to communicate encouragement god and strength to your people we ask god that you be glorified and your people be edified in the name of jesus we pray and thank you amen amen so i want to talk to you today from the topic still in his hand still in his hands amen still in his hands what is the big idea for the message today no matter what god allows in our lives we are still in his hands somebody ought to be able to appreciate god right there no matter the problem predicament or the prognosis we are still in his hands there's someone listening today online or here in the congregation that can relate that when they were unemployed or financially challenged that god still had you in his hands there's someone else that can talk about their marriage they their marriage was broken and was falling apart but now they're being healed and they're still together why because god kept them in his hand somebody can relate that they had a child that went wayward or got in some trouble but because god still had them in their hands now that child is on the right track somebody ought to say amen right there but then there's someone else that has a disease that has attacked their body or their mind or their spirit and yet they may not be healed or they were healed but god can sustain us by his all-sufficient grace why because we are still in his hand you see god's hand i'm not grammatically incorrect by not saying hands god's hand is synonymous with his sovereignty so what god allows may not be good but all things will work together for your good amen we know that all things romans 8 28 says all things work together for the good of those who love god who are called according to his purpose because we're still in his hands see we serve a potter that we can be assured that he knows exactly how fast to pump the wheel of your life we serve a potter who also has strong but gentle hands and he can shape you the way you need to be shaped in your life but our potter also has great vision because he can see what you can become when you remain in his hands all things will work out for the good why because you are still in his hand why don't we give god a praise that we are still in his hands so there are four things that i want to share with you because we are still in his hands that will happen four things that will happen number one god will speak in unusual places say it with me god will speak in unusual places amen look at verse 1 and verse 2. this is the word that came to jeremiah from the lord go down at once to the potter's house there i will reveal my words to you you see jeremiah was a prophet that was called by god as a youth and this prophet was told to leave the more prominent place near the temple which is where they were used to hearing the word of god or teaching the word of god but then to go down to the potter's house this area was south of jerusalem and it had clay that was great for making vessels so jeremiah was sent to this unusual place but there's a parenthetical pause here where god will many times take you out of a more comfortable environment to one that is unfamiliar to you just so he can speak a fresh word to you let me pause rewind and play that again god will many times take you out of that comfortable environment that you're in to one that is unfamiliar or uncomfortable to you just so he can prepare to speak a fresh word to you and by the way when you look at this passage god didn't say hey would you mind going when you have a moment no he said go down at once to the potter's house has god ever spoke to anyone online or in the audience in a way that is unusual he will speak his word to you but god will speak in unusual places number two god will use your obedience to reveal his truth god will use your obedience to reveal his truth look at verse number three so i went down to the potter's house and there he was working at the will you see jeremiah did not say god why are you sending me down to this neighborhood why are you sending me to that particular community or he may have actually thought god why are you disrupting my life of comfort why are you taking me to pursue something that is unknown i know for my my own life i've been in that place and i've asked that question of god but then the bible says that he actually obeyed the word of god immediately he did not question god he actually obeyed the word of god now i wonder how many of us would be in alignment with god's word and god's will for our lives if we only responded to god in obedience with expedience you see expedient obedience will bring glory to god and sometimes we must go down before god can lift us up to where he's working can i get a witness there expedient obedience will bring god glory to god and sometimes we must go down before god can lift us up to where he's working let me give you a thought right there if you are hanging out in places that are driving you away from god god cannot speak to you there but when we obey his word and do what he says then he can take us from where we are and lift us up to where he is working somebody ought to praise god right there so when we're still in god's hands he can actually speak to us in unusual places he can use our obedience to reveal his truth but number three god will turn your mess into a masterpiece or somebody ought to be shouting right there god will turn your mess into a masterpiece what do you mean the mess of finance someone has a mess of of of a marriage or a relationship someone has a mess of their health someone may have the mess of their career but you might look like a masterpiece now but the truth is it wasn't that long ago when you may have looked like a mess are there any witnesses out there oh you you can act like you hadn't had a mess in your life before if you want to but god will create a masterpiece out of your mess look at verse number four the word of god says but the jar that he was making from the clay became flawed somewhere they say flawed i know all of us have flaws in our lives in the potter's hands so he made it into another jar as it seemed right for him to do there's so much in this one particular verse god was that there are actually three things i want to show you about this particular verse first of all notice the position of the jar look at the position of the jar it was in the potter's hand second of all notice the problem with the jar it became flawed in the potter's hand notice the potential of the jar it was made into another jar while still in his hands why is this so important andre it's important for us to realize that as believers in jesus christ that we are in the hand of the heavenly potter it doesn't matter the failures or faults or problems that you have god still has you in his hands you will have failures you will have faults you will have flaws all throughout your lives but in the midst of it all we are still in the hands of god come on give him praise right there unemployed still in his hands financially challenged still in his hands bad health report still in his hands children going wayward you're still in his hands you're about to lose your mind up in here up in here but you're still in the hands of the master potter he's he's the master potter we will have those things happen but there is a praiseworthy part in that verse as well not only was the pot in his hands when it became flawed he decided not to discard the vessel he decided not to break the vessel he decided not to shatter the vessel but he decided to make the vessel new how many want to be a new vessel right now then all you've got to do is realize that you are still in the potter's hands don't let the devil tell you that god has dropped you or dis disavowed you no he has not as a child of god i'm a personal witness that he will not drop you he won't drop you he's a keeper just like he can save you he can keep you he didn't save you just for a moment he saved you for eternity oh i feel like preaching up in here now now second corinthians chapter 4 verse 7 through 10 is a great new testament comparison to jeremiah 18 4. it says now we have this treasure in clay jars the clay jars of our lives and what is that treasure the treasure is our relationship with christ so that the extraordinary power may be from god and not from us we are afflicted in every way but not crushed why because we're in his hands we are perplexed but not in despair why because we're still in his hands we are persecuted but not abandoned why because we are still in the potter's hands we are struck down but we are not destroyed why because we are still in the potter's hand somebody needs to shout thank god i am still in his hand oh i know what you're thinking you're thinking god god dropped me i know what you're saying elder andre but god dropped me my life has been shattered god doesn't care about me no baby you are still in his hands somebody give god a hallelujah he deserves it he deserves it for how he saved your life you know when i was thinking about this guy gave me a heavenly text on the plane yesterday and i was thinking about how when i would not be picked for a team when i was a kid you know i get mad and set off to the side but then i decided to ask my mom and dad for a ball or a glove or a bat so the next time i showed up that they couldn't play without what i had so so i i had a strategy even at a young age so if they decided not to pick me then i'd take my ball and go home because it belonged to me well the god having you in his hand is the antithesis of that in other words you don't own your own life the clay of your life belongs to god and because it belongs to god he can do what he wants with your life when he wants to do it with your life he can actually turn it around and make you something you've never thought you would be able to be because you are still in his hand i thank god as much mess that has happened in my life i thank god that i'm still in his hands some of you are being a little quiet and maybe a little bougie what about you all online that o mind testifying that i was messed up but god kept me in his hands i might still look like a mess but god is creating a masterpiece why because i'm in his hand god will speak in unusual places god will use your obedience to reveal his truth god will turn your mess into a masterpiece but number four god will reassure us of our position in him look at the word in verse five and six of jeremiah 18. the word of god came to me house of israel can i not treat you as this potter treats this clay this is the lord's declaration just as the potter the clay in the potter's hands you so you are in my hand house of israel just as the clay in the potter's hand so you are in my hand house of israel you see i know at times that it feels as if our lives are shattered and they cannot be put back together again in fact i like to call it the humpty dumpty syndrome you remember humpty dumpty right it's a nursery rhyme humpty dumpty sat on a wall humpty dumpty had a great fall so now you remember all the king's horses and all the king's men could not put old humpty back together again but see there was a problem humpty had another problem he laid there shattered on the ground all broken talking about help me help me but it says all the king's horses and all the king's men could not put humpty back together again you know why because humpty was relying on a king rather than the king we we can rely on the king we don't have to worry about a king because we serve the king of kings and the lord of lords we are still in his hands and no matter how broken you feel you are still in his hands you see god is sovereign which simply again means that he's in control and he will keep those who have surrendered to him through the relationship with jesus christ as savior and lord no matter how broken you feel as a child of god you are still in his hand but the great news about this passage in jeremiah 18 it's the good news of the gospel you might not see the gospel message but it's right there it not only is salvation available for all who desire it but this passage reassures us of god's ability to keep us somebody online say god is a keeper he's a keeper god not only saves us through the blood of jesus christ but he's able to keep us and because he's able to keep us it reminds us of the words of jesus christ in john chapter number 10 verse 27 and 28 jesus says my sheep hear my voice and i know them that noah is an intimate acquaintance with and they follow me because i am the shepherd that loves them that cares for them that saves them that protects them they listen to me and they follow me i give them life and they will never somebody say never they will never perish and no one say no one will snatch them out of my hand nobody can take you out of the hand of the potter so if i've got a i actually have a question for you if god did all of this to make the path for his creation to have a living lasting loving relationship with god the father through jesus christ why would he allow situations and circumstances to pull you out of his hand somebody needs to be encouraged today now i need you to know also that i'm not sharing this just because it's in the bible that's a good reason but this message actually started being ministered to me by god himself seven years ago at a place in my life where i was completely broken shattered humpty dumpty-ish not feeling that there was a way that i could come back in ministry in my corporate life i was three or four levels below what what he wanted for me or what he had qualified me to do in the past my marriage was being attacked and then one thing that happened in june of 2019 my son had been in it overnight our son had been in an overnight party with uh the football team and someone talked him into taking him home after he shouldn't have been driving at the curfew but he drove to help this friend out but on the way back he got blinded around a narrow curve and his car left got pulled off the side of the road with his reaction because he couldn't see and he totaled his car he totaled the car look at the screen and he walked away without a scratch because god kept him in his hands he said i'm not through yet not only that four years ago in june of 2017 i'm in the hospital nobody knows what's wrong with me i can barely breathe i could walk from here to the end of that door without giving out a breath and having to stop they finally diagnosed what my issue was and it's an incurable uh autoimmune disease that has ravaged 33 of my lungs on the upper lobes of both of them and it's equated to only having 50 percent lung capacity but look at me with my bad self god has kept me in his hands my body is not healed physically but god's all sufficient grace has kept me because his word is true that his grace is sufficient and power is made perfect in his weakness in 2010 and 2011 i've been running a company up in new york flying back and forth from alpharetta to new york every week while also pastoring my church and then all of a sudden we got sold and they were like andre we'd like you to move and i said no i'm not going to new york so i'm thinking i'd get another job well 16 months later i had not found the job but guess what didn't miss a payment didn't miss anything the finances kept going the oil never ran out because god kept me in his hands my marriage was under attack for a lot of reasons none that were salacious but we had allowed life to crush us and it led to massive challenges but now my wife is sitting right here and we're about to celebrate 32 years on september 1st why because god kept us in his hand now see one of the things you've got to realize is when you have those flaws in your life again notice you're still in the hands of the potter even though you're flawed he does not drop you he does not shatter you he does not throw you away oh i'm thankful for that i told pastor lee that i thought god would never use me again in public ministry because i had to walk away from the church i planted not for nine and a half years and had to go out of town to take a job to take care of my family and even though i was rightly motivated it crushed my spirit but look at god now god is using whatever it is he's put in me to help at eagle's nest i thank god that all of us that's my testimony but each of you have a testimony if you take the time and those of you online you can say what your testimony is in the chat if you take the time and look in the rearview mirror of your mind you will realize that god has kept you in his hands as the old saints used to say from dangers seen and unseen that he's kept us i want to pray for two groups of people tonight i mean today one if you're not in the hands of the heavenly potter and that simply means that you have not professed jesus christ as the savior and lord of your life i want to encourage you to yield to what the holy spirit has been tugging on you for jesus says in john 6 65 that no one can come to the father first except i first bid them to come god has been talking to you and i want to encourage you to pray this prayer let's pray father i thank you right now that there are those listening online there are those in in the audience here live that need to yield to jesus christ as savior and lord i pray right now god that they will confess with their mouth the lord jesus and believe in their heart that you raised jesus from the dead so he could wash away our sins and now they can be saved and because they're saved god if they meant this prayer from their hearts they are now in your hands they're in the hands of the powder and though life may be challenging you'll still keep them in your hands and turn whatever mess they've had into a masterpiece we realize god some of these things may not show up in until eternity but they will come because we're in his hands in jesus name amen there's another group i want to pray for for those of you who have been walking with jesus as savior and lord of your life but yet life has happened to you you know the financial thing the job the relationship that's been broken the divorce the marriage that's on the brink the career that's going nowhere the health that is going down you are still in god's hands so here's what i want to do i want to pray for you as well god thank you right now some of us are dealing with messes but we can shout now because there is a masterpiece on the way because we are in your hands i thank you god that those that have the the testimony or the witness of how you have turned their mess into a masterpiece but those god that may be struggling i want to encourage them right now to let them know you're not done with them and they are not humpty dumpty you are keeping them you are shaping them even with the flaws that are in their lives you are reshaping them into a new vessel and in fact god you are transforming us you're not changing us you're transforming us so that we become something new we love you we bless you in jesus name amen i want you to be encouraged i want you to be assured i want you to be joyful why because you're still in the heavenly potter's hands god bless you that's welcome to this days you
