[Music] you know good question and I'm gonna give you a disappointing answer you know tremendous disparities in income and lifestyle in different communities in South Africa so my brother-in-law's a cardiologist my next door neighbor who was really like our second family he was a radiologist my dad is a periodontist prosthodontist honestly one of my clearest memories from childhood is the pharmacist when I was in college I got it too you know hospitals that were a lot more underprivileged and that was really a shock to see the disparity you know coming to the u.s. and and and seeing this the scale the variation in healthcare the innovation I've been in since 1989 so next year will be my 30th year in healthcare I couldn't be prouder of being in healthcare in the US and you know we're not perfect but we need to really work on access and I think we have and you know Obamacare is not perfect but my god to have 28 million Americans uninsured it's just unsustainable in this country we have to take care of others there has to be a basic level of medical care which doesn't involve people going to emergency units it's that's that is such a waste of resources I think if anything those views are shaped by growing up outside the US and America has kind of a rugged independence maybe being from outside here makes you so appreciative of being an American you [Music]
