Stepping Deeper into Darkness...?! 🦊 Spirit of the North • #6

hello everyone and welcome back to spirit of the north where we have just managed to use our spirit bark that our lovely red fox has learned to clear away some of the corruption that seems to have taken over this land and the absence of the spirit fox and of course our spirit fox friend is still with us having given up most of his essence to be able to heal us after we tumbled down from the cliffside and we are continuing to explore his land and trying to make sense of what happened to his people and may maybe what happened to him too so it's still a beautiful world where the answers are just what we're able to investigate ourselves but we find evidence stacked around and still hanging after what must be countless years from the people who used to worship this spirit fox and hopefully we'll find more about their story as we carry on let's actually run over here i want to make sure we don't lose any of the followers that the spirit fox had wow look at how beautiful these rocks are i know that sounds odd to say but [Music] it's just such a pretty place i mean it would be though [Music] that red energy is really concerning it didn't seem to be doing too much at the spot we found but oh look i knew it was a good idea to come over here all right we're probably going to need some of the spirit energy i don't know what four yet but i'm glad we found it but i would really hate to think that we might you know miss a little corner where there are the bones of one of the fox's ancient followers and we can't free their spirit so far i have noticed that every spirit we have freed had a red energy around it kind of like the red energy that's up in the sky and so the idea that maybe their spirit is trapped maybe the spirit fox is accepted that its people are gone because clearly civilization has collapsed and there is no one left behind but perhaps there's just a few lost spirits that the spirit fox wants to make sure find their way to their their next life or at least are released from here who are being held back by the corruption and i mean i'm calling it corruption but maybe it's just whatever new growth is filling in the void and taking up the niche that has now been emptied by the spirit fox's people i don't want to oh more beautiful flowers oh dear i wonder if we missed something over in these fields i want to be very careful before we get to move on oh and i can see even more flowers down there wow all right all right let's see if there's anything hiding up here i don't want to just assume that like all of the things that we're finding all of the the weird corruption thing that was clearly i think very deadly to our fox to be near i don't want to assume it's evil but it definitely was killing our fox it must have been toxic or poison to life as we know it there are lots of these flowers everywhere maybe there's not a puzzle to solve and maybe this is just an example of a place that's even more rich in the spirit fox's energy also look at that beautiful lichen this is beautiful oh i wish we could fly like the spirit fox oh look oh oh my goodness i see it do you guys see it there's a glowing red energy over there that's clearly maybe some of the corruption let's go take care of that let's also investigate i want to make sure we're not losing leaving behind anyone and it's so easy to miss out on the ancient ruins oh look the spirit fox is actually guiding us over here now [Music] all right oh look at that what on earth oh my gosh look i understand if as one civilization falls a new entity and creature comes to fill up its niche and takes over the world so i'm not saying whatever this is is is evil but it's clearly our quest to at least have life fighting against life that's right little one all right let's gather up the energy wow it is a battle of life fighting for life oh and it was blocking us from the staff okay let's go ahead and pick this up [Music] i mean that's just what we're gonna be part of i guess i won't begrudge well i'll just nickname as the corruption for existing and trying to have its moment but i won't give up on trying our best to be able to fight back against it those are just the rules of survival right you have two forces who both want to live i can only assume wow that's a lot of the corruption stuff hmm so where does this staff go is there anyone nearby here's another one of the flowers so let's go ahead and make sure all right can i get this flower there we go we'll get that energy we'll pick up the staff all right there we are and that's at least half the bottle i think did you guys see any bones as long as that sounds hanging out down here usually they're not terribly far from one another i wish the spirit fox could guide us a little bit better all right let's search over here just really quickly no that's just a little cave it's interesting because more than getting rid of the corruption it's my empathy and my my hope for the forgotten spirits that are scattered through the world here that has me exploring like every nook and cranny to make sure we don't pass them up maybe it's just the empathy of like do unto others as you would want done into you and who knows maybe it would be really wonderful if someday in the far far future if there was just some scrap of me left somebody could just do a kindness and kind of put things back together so that i could go a little bit longer without being forgotten [Music] all right let's run up here curses [Music] so far we can get up and down everywhere i wonder like this person was really far separated from their staff i probably have passed them up unfortunately but i don't think they would be like tucked far away into some corner so maybe they're going to be further along the way we're just going to have to hope [Music] oh not to mention the staff will actually glow as we get close won't it all right we'll have to rely on that too let's run up here there's a little path and the staff will actually guide us i almost forgot about that oh no there's another staff oh you guys oh [Music] all right oh it's starting to glow oh right over here look yeah look that's definitely my new theory their spirits were being held back by the corruption all right we freed that one but we have another staff so these two were actually near one another all right and we have missed somebody i think so let's try this we're gonna grab this and we're gonna trust that the staff will guide us and help us find where we're supposed to go [Music] we've already gone a little too far but if we go back this way how useful all right yeah let's come back this way and as we can see like that person was really close to their staff so maybe if we're careful and we walk around here the glowing will start up again all right let's see hello hello could you send out some nifty energy are you gonna be hiding up here like the other one no okay i would really hate to lose you but what about up here no i don't think so all right we'll run back this way we'll kind of zigzag for a minute and if we can't find someone we'll just have to to cross our fingers and do our best yeah i don't think there's any any bones over there because we searched the area pretty carefully and the staff didn't light up what about over here this looks like a suspicious spot i don't think i actually walked up to this pile of bone or this pile of uh rocks on our journey nobody oh now this makes me sad like what if somebody's just going to end up being forever lost oh that's literally my biggest fear well no actually my biggest fear is that something would happen to the love of my life but all we can do is cherish the moments we've got right hmm curses all right well let's carry on and there's actually something kind of touching about this even if we can't find the person that the staff is meant for it will help to find one of their brethren so even if we aren't able to find whoever this is supposed to be united with it will light up and it will help us to actually find another person in the future you know what that's that's the other thing that i would be okay with happening to me too is even if i was forgotten if it meant that somebody else could be remembered i'd be alright with that especially if it was somebody that i cherished and loved to in fact actually more than being forgotten myself i would be i would be most sad if those i loved were forgotten and i think that's why i love sharing stories about the people who mean so much in my life [Music] and that's why i really love sharing stories about the kindness that you guys have shown [Music] yeah and that's why i love reading those stories and hearing them and being told them and you guys sharing them with me stories about the people we love i think are one of the most precious things that we can possibly pass on from this world sharing with each other showing what it means to be human and what it means to create really gorgeous memories those matter more than anything else more than material possessions or whatever our achievements are were the memories that we can make with everyone those are what matter the most and what kind of memories we leave behind oh i didn't expect to get so caught up and oh look at this wow wow oh wow i really didn't expect to get so caught up in thinking so deeply while we're exploring these places either oh i wonder if there were more caves like this and i just didn't see them but when you're all alone in the world it does make you think about like your memories and what the world means we'll come back for that in just a second [Music] oh that looks really spooky all right guys can i blast it oh no oh i can't blast it oh no the fox the fox spirit just got sucked in you guys quickly we need more energy oh this is not good okay wow there we go all right yeah the fox spirit look did you see that it just got sucked into that all right can i take this [Music] all right let's do this we've got to go rescue him that is absolutely unacceptable oh where's my body oh my good gravy oh my gosh oh the floor is twitching the floor is moving whoa did we just get knocked out oh my gosh all right back to the energy we will figure this out maybe i needed to get a little closer i could really use some convenient guidance and some nice you know drawings from the people of the past to help guide me through this moment but i think it's just gonna have to be whatever we can figure out all right guys well here we are the next stage and i have no idea what's going on it looks scary it looks creepy
