welcome to this tutorial showing you how to create a piece of artwork in response to the artist stephanie young and you'll see in photopia i have already opened up a photograph that i took whilst up in london first thing i'm going to do is right click on the layer and click duplicate layer and then on this new layer i'm going to click on the drop down menu above and go to multiply and that's going to make it so i can see both the images at the same time i'm going to move that to a new position where i like it and then i'm going to go image adjustments brightness and contrast and i'm going to bring the brightness up quite a lot so i can see them both relatively click ok and then with this new layer i'm going to right click and duplicate this and this time i'm going to choose darken from the drop down menu and you can see that it's made it a lot more transparent and only a few features visible it means that i can now keep duplicating this layer and moving around to position it where i like it i think i'll go for one more layer you need to be mindful that with each layer it does get slightly darker so you don't want to add new layers add infinitum you want to maybe stick to three or four different layers okay once you're happy with all your layers right click on the top layer and click flatten image and that makes your image one layer again so now i can image adjustments color balance and i'm going to bring up the red and bring down the blue to make my image a little bit more colorful a bit more interesting and then i'm going to go image adjustments hue saturation and bring up the saturation for the same effect to make it more bright and colorful and then image adjustments brightness and contrast just to whip up the contrast and the brightness and make it a bit more of a powerful image and that is my image done and dusted i hope you find this tutorial helpful
