Candlelight vigil, as you mentioned just held a short while ago here at Stanford University on the field that she once played on a student athlete who was widely admired here. Her death. Leaving this campus in a state of shock. Thousands filling Maloney Field Wednesday , the home of Stanford soccer standing there silently, candles lit to remember student Katie Meyer. A lot of just blank white faces a lot of shock Sophomore Kieran Wallace among the student athletes reeling from the news of Myer's passing. A lot of athletes were sitting all together just to take the time to show each other their love Wallace, a member of the school's rowing team, describing the mood in the schools cafeteria for student athletes. The 22 year old discovered dead in a residence hall earlier this week. The circumstances surrounding her death still unknown, The senior who was born in Burbank and attended high school in 1000 Oaks, remembered as a bigger than life figure on the women's soccer team. Her penalty kick save in 2019, helping lift her squad with third NCAA Women's soccer championship. Saw her as goalkeeper on the team, and I saw how passionate she is about soccer and how big of support she is for everybody on her team Myers team tweeting Tuesday. We love you, Katie. In a letter to students, University administrators describing Katie Meyer as quote extraordinarily committed to everything and everyone in the world. Meyer was majoring in international relations and major, she told friends had changed her perspective on the world and reviews on global cooperation critical, she said to addressing the world's challenges ahead. I think she showed a lot more than just How badass A woman can be in the sport itself. She brought so much energy. We got the chance just to write little notes to our suite mates who are on the team with her and just showed our support for them and that we're thinking about them. And again police not releasing Myers cause of death at this time, but making it clear there is no threat to students.
