I remember playing the movie tie-in game in my PS2 when I was little, there were levels where Spongebob turned into a ball and you had to go across a "labyrinth" to win, my friends and I could go hours playing it until we lost all our lives and had to restart the console.
For me it was the best movie tie-in that I ever played, close second is the Madagascar game that had an amazing multiplayer golf mini-game.
Battle for Bikini Bottom is a very fun game, at least when I played it 10 years ago. Would definitely play them again.
Battle for Bikini Bottom is an amazing performer. Heavy Iron recently gained interest in bringing them over to current gen. They'd still be great for kids and fans alike
Really enjoyed Battle for Bikini Bottom, and I'm really glad they mentioned the PC version of the movie game, I thought I was the only one who owned it from what little I've seen of it anyway.
People didn't like revenge of the flying Dutchman? Huh. I really enjoyed it, but maybe I was just a stupid kid because i had a lot of odd games that were mediocre or just bad.
So neat :D I still have a PS2 with Battle for Bikini Bottom and Lights, Camera, Pants but I definitely didn't know all of that stuff. (I never did beat Battle for Bikini Bottom...that was a pretty long, involved game for a Spongebob game!)
Revenge of the Flying Dutchman was a weird game. All I remember from it were the levels had that bleak look and I could never beat the game due to corruption and not knowing where to go. Overall it felt like some weird game version of purgatory.
recently played through revenge of the flying dutchman again; good lord, couldn't they have added a few more music tracks?? i even started getting headaches after listening to the soundtrack (rather than individual tracks for each level, only two levels have unique music, while in every other part of the game the music playing depends on which costume you wear). i appreciated that it still did feel like spongebob, but... bluh.
I remember playing a game boy version of Revenge of the Glying Dutchman, it was some sort of weird 2D Platformer of some kind based around breaking up walls of different colored coral with different bubble types.
Thinking back on it it may have worked closer to a Metroid title
