um are you saying all this we were doing three years ago because we were going to reopen this because at the end of this level was the richest pockets they found in the mind it financed the whole 16 to 1 mine and so Mike Miller says yeah let's do it and we did it they were going gangbusters and then one reason another we decided to stop and direct elsewhere and that's when we went to the compromise to start working to compromise so I'd like to see it reopened I've actually been over the map since through some exploration we may have a back door to the zero level and I'd like to see it and I'd be interested in saying so there's only one way to go okay you're not going to get lost so I feel pretty good about this one this is all been I want you to point it out there were four thousand ounces pulled out between here and the shaft oh wow right just above you by the way when when they came in for four thousand right okay right up there between here in the shaft four thousand ounces this case is there in case you didn't hear he was saying this it remains it an ore chute right here and it took out four thousand ounces of gold right there and that shaft you're just checking out right there so lots and lots of gold in this money and you see some of the courts all through here you're gonna see a lot of that today they weren't following a whole lot not here three years old starting up the mold on such on yes three years old three years old brand new chambers I actually have a name it was this Dracul name oh that's specific mold is what you don't want to see is yet the black stuff the white mold is not gonna kill you this is a bulkhead and in this whole team are clubbing who is doing the most of our rehab in here yeah it was sloughing off I mean it is as they're mucking through the material just kept coming down and coming down coming down well then kaya is absolutely incredible to work he does he managed to start spoiling and you start driving the wood in to your next one and then drive another one and just and you can see you smiled it off and actually stopped it it was running its really wet and it would run on him well I'm even when they were working here you can see how it started to run over the top and yeah now grab some more boards to throw some more boards and it's since come back up over the top well yes he was dance for the very top yeah I'm the same let's see they still cut up it was full of muck and of course when they start pulling the bottom out this was all mucked out this is its loft over the top no and it ran over the top and yeah you're inside in mining you know it was a it was quite to scramble to get some more timber up there that's a good 10 feet I up there yeah and if you look look at that you ever see a 6 by 12 bend right Derek yeah it is hold back right there yep definitely some pressure [Music] interesting factoid the track here is 18 inches the track at the face is 16 inches we have no explanation thanks odd you have a teenage games pretty funny when we were running the mucker if there we determined that the track was actually set it's 16 inches everything from the shaft here to the North had basically had been abandoned it had caved in and they were using the main shaft so they didn't care what was going on down here but the fact that it was 16 it's got to tell you maybe that was ruled that they were maybe even would our cars 16 narrow-gauge right before they standardized with it with an 18 it's like 18 24 36 we standard so it was really just interesting because they can't have them to pull the track and respite the track you know any any office buddy comes out mark comes out he goes it's 16 plus where there's some more tires that's interesting there is the old kind of purple of mm-hmm have no idea still look pretty good though no but it's encourage three years old in the softball huh yeah I don't know if it's way the tipper is how much moisture is in today's timber older looking older wood so this is what we're up against there's there's our tallies 207 loads my believers have 2000 I'm sorry 200 2015 207 load oh boy alright go track level typical drift about 7 feet high as you see it actually faulted okay and this big slab this throbs down awareness yeah so yeah we were just gonna mine right through it you see it's that's it that's see in the life yeah that's when we got into here of course that one that one's was relatively recent but that was a that's where we were going and then that's what he called it we're done time to move on we'll be back so I just drill this sweep exactly we would actually just drill up just like you could build an archway right through here and go right through it I just leave it reinforce it yeah yep stole it up or we were actually talking about tripping off one side I'm just going around it yeah but the time of money involved for an exploratory project that was you know prohibitive yeah this stuff always seems to cave isn't it this is my trail oh yeah oh here you go that was seven hundred twenty-five feet from the world 25 not very far being that this thing is over 3,000 feet keeps going for 3,000 feet 3,000 where you actually hit they hit the vein system and it was incredibly rich in fact it was sold they only in the production records just some notes of it it was rich and and then finance the entire mind Wow that they were able to pay for that hoist and then they get everything in there so I still goes punches back more in two thousand feet yeah I wonder what the conditions are like beyond this mess right here well we're super allowed to be close to the surface of the ground has really slayed yeah fractured and and that we're probably gonna run into this all over the place right it was exploratory because it hadn't been opened I said it was closed in the 60s so it would have been very interesting because it's never been met it's classic we're using metal the technology I know it's never it's the classic has never been metal detected so we've metal detected a lot of the areas the old timers had been in and found a lot of gold we don't even actually have to break new ground to find gold we just go through that all the stuff they left and and we're not about just pulling builders were going through ribs and new headings and and everything finding gold but you know they didn't have that technology and if we could get back into this old level with today's technology it's hard to say what what it could do for the mine yeah that was the idea get back this deposit yeah I've never looked it up but have you ever touched it yeah it's soft okay you you I would see you don't want to touch it it's because of what happens when you do touch it oh this typically its Hollow okay okay it's kind of home and so once you get inside some of them you will open it in all this muddle come out and then it just becomes a big mess I mean you will be working and you'll inadvertently hit one with your helmet and it'll split open and it's going down your neck and oh man you're like when's this day to be over although exploratory drift they basically when they punch these they were like okay wait you know this one's actually kind of going on the vein they want to see if they're gonna hit another vein or if the veins gonna open or close or wide enough and it takes time and money but they they'll do it yeah they're they're looking for something they'll just drift off because they're looking for another vein right given how much dollars they're eating everything off we'll see see it's real shitty yes yeah you can call it something else it's real shitty and and that makes it difficult to stay up oh yeah it does not want to stay up now there's a she ground it can come out and sheets didn't come out in big slabs and it's hard to keep up you can't you can't bolt it the only way that really do it is in this case here is timber and then lag it so you see there's temporary post tap and then laggy yeah it's good to keep it from getting yeah yeah okay so post cap laggy spreader they put between the post to keep them upright yeah support each other so all kind of tied together and then they'll start to crib it up if you want to get as close as to the back as you can yeah and then even on the top of these then normally will backfill with wood scraps to take up any sloth rather than come foam and I hit this and what it's actually doing is it's actually been mainly being supported to hold that slab up gotcha and that would take nothing look simply all right now you see it's just a big sheet take the door the golden or all right left turn quiet that's where we came in from the back of that Junction now we're going to the left I'll meet you there sounds good I see daylight Wow good slop coming down here Wow blew off the wagon without standing in front of this oh yeah Oh slept off from up there but the lighting stopped it yeah this job that's some more big slabs and big chunks right there and this is the exit one of the exits to the mine what many so that's where we just came out of left branching fork zero level portal number two and we were just walking from there if the camera will focus on it came from there and comes out this way and then that's the building you're just checking out a little while ago necessarily or we come from there and eat into the mill process which starts right here there you go see the original war shoot was much lower oh wow yeah this this was for loader but the original was down below said I know if this come across the camera but there's another shoot much lower down there but this more modern one is for the loader is the same and then you can't see it from here but the mill it's just down there [Applause] we're d'Alene Idaho huh even better maybe somewhere at colder lane hardware store once they're moist back quarter lane hardware and Foundry Company Wallace Idaho quarterly mark we're yeah that's cool Wallace Idaho we ended up in Allegheny California amazing this is all or here this is all or that hasn't been run through the mill yet you just imagine how much gold might be here the mine was all electric yeah not lights but all the voiced all the pumps everything was electric absolutely incredible absolutely everything was in work on all these canyons it all hydroelectric I mean talk about social sustainability utilizing natural resources you know I mean it it brought PG mean and what they are today was all these minds and so as we said this is that hopper in the beginning and go down the stairs and show you the full middle process here so what was coming out of here because I see that this chute here runs off so way all the rock all the all coming from the mine went into that hopper great and you always try to shoot it to a size that it's not going to need so much work to crush so there's an ideal size but any you still end up with oversized that we're getting that so is it is it feeds out it actually drops down into the chute beneath us here beneath us and what happens to be anything too big actually slides out and goes down the chute okay so the big stuff of glass right here's a big and there's some historical photos and not all that historical but the eighties and nineties when was run and there'd be a massive pile of quartz right here with nine big boulders of course that couldn't get crushed because I'd have to bring them back up and jackhammer and bust him up guy so that was unfortunate because now instead of going to the middle and I had to move it again and it would stack up here then they'd have to load it dump truck it and haul it all the way back up to the milligan so it would go down through the jaw crusher which is right below us and it's a big one okay that's a pretty good view right there you can see how it would come from the bottom of the crusher onto the conveyor the electromagnet picked up any scrap steel drill bits whatever might get in there cuz you don't want it to hurt the middle so we would go into the top and there was a classifier there again - so anything that was already small enough wouldn't have to get crushed that's all about trying to save time and money and then it would drop down through a cone crusher where we then crushed it to about three-quarters of minutes - and then you'd see that actually conveyor it out into the top of the ore chute right there at the top of the mill and there for those of you home didn't catch that the the big stuff would go up to the right on this chute and then the finer stuff he was just talking about drops then once only had a few years left on it right there yeah and then there's the original that's the original step yes 20 there was a 20 20 they actually left the 10 here just for historical purposes you know with the 10 when no I really don't know where they ended up but that became interesting too so this is something pretty unique this is one of the jaw plates for the crusher and you can see they actually wore a hole through it there just wore it down nothing I know the lights tear a little bit that's pretty unique so but you can see that then here's the bottom view of the mill we are just standing on and we were standing up there before there is crusher puss and this is a shaker classifier right here so all the undersized would bypass the secondary crusher the cone crusher and go to the mill to drop one with the conveyor all the oversize that came off the crusher dog crusher would then go through the cone crusher and you can see the top of it there it would run through and then get tighter and tighter as it went down and crushed into a much smaller at least 3/4 minus in onto the conveyor okay so there is the okay some of the old custom concrete from the original mill there's lots of Mills have been here over the years and this is all work correct that's amazing fine piece pick it out there okay for fuel huh that's looking down into the hopper this is the room we were just in and now we're coming down nice level and you can look in and see all this unprocessed or they have so I mean there's there's got to be some good gold in there it's just sitting there and run through and then like I said we're going down here wow that's a big ball mill yeah and that is all unprocessed yep where nothing everything a little on the ground down there is all conveyors law there the balls for the ball Miller right there another view of the ball mill it would actually scoop the or come off the this secondary crush so you don't overload the ball mill it scoops a predetermined amount every time nice so it's literally a scoop on the end it comes around makes a little scoop so as the balls are crushing the material heading out the other side it doesn't overload it or you get all the too much oversize will run out the mill this one's interesting is right there that is a rape classifier huh now would classify the oversize and the undersized are actually the one that you want it as small as possible don't see many of them it's an interesting concept those rapes actually see the cams right they're going in up-and-down fashion up it down it brings the material back up and down and I've never actually seen one an operation most will use a like a dewatering like a screw type to separate the the oversize from the undersized Yassin the screws but that's interesting similar breaks oh I do believe I actually have a functioning I mean you ever seen inside a ball mill yes there's the man door there's the man yeah they're in these little pieces and some unfortunate soul has to climb in that tank Oh somebody is on the outside with a big giant air impact on doing those bolts and pull those plates off yeah and of course these are all the balls Palmilla scoop I was referring to okay as you should earlier all your secondary crushed rock comes down and it's fed into here and it starts the stack up in the bottom of the feed chute this scoop rotates with the speed of the mill and they can see the speed up or slow down the mill to determine the grind way too fast everything's going out so that would make one pass and it would take a scoop and as it flips up then gravity and it feeds it into the milk and the balls start doing their work so you run too fast everything's gonna blow right through you get the right speed you're gonna get minimal oversize you know makes sense but I've also wondered to you is how much how much yeah you don't have the beautiful gold still laying in the bottom of that thing huh is another view looking down from above you see that massive electric motor right there there's Jason next to us us about Pickett his absent or miss Olivia the ball mill here and area we were just checking out is over there and there's that hopper again and we came in through that you had between here now here they had the newts and balls and then from there it went to the I believe their Dilton D stir and there's will free you see it laying it up against the wall you can get down there I should show you that's the bottom of the table it's just a shame to see him like that and then that was actually where they read toward the mercury right there in that right there okay yeah that's our high grade mill there so and then that was the Middle's mill office is there there's a good view up where we're just standing on top of those boards there you see anything underneath here and we head back down to this lowest level here don't fit four by six we somebody you'll hear all the way at the top of the hill clang clang run up through the four by six get into five gallon buckets will though three hundred pounds for the pie grade or you get a look in there it's already been pre-loaded preloaded with the with the balls uh yeah and will run for about five hours five hours at that point you know climb and then run it through a spiral wheel [Music] just like a big tank old pan for gold screw sit there and watch all the bowls already there's no chemical specific gravity the bowl will climb all the lighter stuff to walk you out [Music] stress is stuff he said this section was exclusively for the high grades yeah we still use today oh yeah I don't I well I would say I've personally run the milk I do assist our president Mike Miller when we have a high grade mill run so I'm a mill man and if there's nothing greater to see the end result I can imagine you know a lot of times the guys down there they'll see the high grade which goes to our stonecutter the rest of it is in the rock and you can't see it or you may not see it until it's actually liberated and then I get to sit there and watch all the gold come out you know and it's really something like oh this is what we're working for this is what it's all about yeah and I mean not everybody's interested in doing the mill man they and I sit here in crush rock and make a bunch of noise and get all wet and but the end result yeah yeah buttery love right so we'll put yep so you're just a matter of rotating and we'll dump the steel balls down under this bin and then at that point everything's caught in the glorious bucket and I'll pass that over and it'll then get ran onto the wheel very interesting it's actually quite efficient I mean personally I'd like to see it all go over a shaker table for the finds which I'm really surprised if we don't run one I don't know why I don't have an answer I don't know if it's finances or whatnot but I can't tell me there's not some fine flying flower gold in in those millions coming at it now we get to walk back up here a lovely view out the front door yeah there's the devious second of that analyst at the lower shop of the 8 her plot will right pass to the the settling ponds so I'll be heading down there next
