I'm Matt hey I'm Ruby this is sound like on that CV [Music] hi Matt I do how are you good today is a big big day this big day yeah it's been three years since we did the without busting has it really as time has flown do you know it doesn't feel like we've been doing sound like that long but three years is a long time it is a long time today we are doing Metallica by busting the bank yes many many many requests for this one it's a big one yeah it was actually I think it's one of our most popular videos that we've done he's the most popular and we attempted to do by busting last year but for some reason oh yeah we lost the footage so we can do it so we're going to do it again and I think the idea here is just blow the bank out of the water yeah try and get rigs that are close as we can really this is what we sounded like last time [Music] I think we got pretty close I I was really really impressed but I think we can do better okay it's a tall order but let's give it a go so basically we need messes absolutely need messes we need I'll be looking for a an ESP yes and it's all a lie so it's great to do the same no birds be fair they use slightly different messes amps and I know also now these in diesel and stuff like that they are we're gonna get a mess aren't we I think so yeah there's a lot of information out there there's a lot of things that used over the years we're gonna do our bestest to find the bestest gear when I saw the reliable leads fest they had a wall of rectifiers yeah now whether they would double or triple have no idea but either way there were definitely rectifiers yes so we're gonna guitars first though yeah I'm gonna go find ESP I know that the signature like top of the line Kirk Hammet signature is not available and it ins but I do believe there is a demonology ltd demonology which is still about 1200 pounds so that's sufficiently busted the bank and I believe it's at the warehouse so it's gonna get shipped down here but in the in the unlikely event that we can't actually get that guitar it's probably worth getting another EMG loaded guitar with the floyd rose to that to that end there's one right here all right this is an eclipse deluxe very nice this is 7:40 19 right it's EMG loaded floyd rose it's not a kirk cameron shave because he plays a s type shape well I mean beggars can't be choosers I'm certainly begging or binding it does a beautiful binding the pearloid Barney it's very glitzy yeah it is does it sufficiently bust your bank well it was 1069 but is now 749 you could say that's an epic deal they go fine well have that as a backup yeah see if the other one comes in and then go from there this is the backup for my crack-up so my James Hetfield snake by ESP is on the way I'll show you in so we have found the meta for the job we're gonna be taking it to the video room just go down the warehouse so drops a good'n into the world of pedals into the world of exotic guitars that aren't here but they're on the way we've got hams and now I just want to say that I have my limits of bougie another trip where I keep living like five we'll see how we go James Hetfield uses a JC 124 is cleans quite famously now they're all our stock Anderson's today so I have on good authority that if I get the CD to peddled by boss in the chorus that should at least get me the quality sound now perhaps it'll be difficult to get the same speaker sound yeah but I'm gonna sit I'm gonna take a pump and hope that I can get through one out with the ce2 I can get close clear eyes yeah I'm gonna I think I'm just gonna use the gain on the amp I might get a quick g7 just to be safe even though there's already an EQ on the up itself on top of that for things like one the intro to one they're clean II kind of solo there are definitely chorus on there so I'm gonna get the mxr analog chorus because it's trusty it's good quality it's not a cheapest pedal and it does lots but then of course it wouldn't be right without a wire pedal but not just one ten well don't forget you've got you've got four limbs yeah maybe you can use two on your hands already had yeah I'm gonna get 10 wah pedals because it's kirk hammett needs 10y pedals and we'll see how it sounds I'm also gonna get a ts9 and maybe a cloth let's go see what it sounds like [Music] back in the video yes we are in this thrash adventure to sound like the mighty Metallica thrash adventure yeah if that was a comic I've read it in anything around in the bushes trying to find our way structuring around in the bushes anyway so we obviously trying to sound like James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett respectively yes actually turned out very similar rigs we're not well I don't know what we are in terms of budget because we don't have one this time so this is sound like let's allocate without a budget it is yeah like I was only gonna repeat what Matt just said if the rigs are very similar even same color yeah now it's like a beautiful symmetry almost it is it really is [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so I'm gonna start with the guitar that I used so I was going for the demonology the Ltd demonology because the kirk hammett one wasn't in stock and I assumed that demonology was but it wasn't which was 12 pounds so in the end it was a case of finding EMG loaded floyd rose equipped guitar so the ltd a clipped well it's the LCD deluxe it's based on the clips it's got AMG's in it and I think it's the 81 in the 85 as it is and you got Floyd Rose in there too so really I wasn't so much bothered about the aesthetic as I was about the fact that it's the pickups and the Floyd and that's also on an epic deal as it happens it is it's like 749 pounds down from a thousand something there you go so it's pretty decent well an epic steel miss Decius date the net the first thing we run into is the full tone Clyde wah and I was gonna get 10 wires but then realized that I didn't have the floorspace for all 10 was so I just thought I'd get one either way this is cool as a buffer that you can control the level of on and off I've turned it off I thought Kurt won't have used a buffered while back in the day so why should I in any case that's what that does sounds like a wire and then it goes out of there round into the mxr analog chorus which I really like this course is such it I trust this chorus to do the job that it's designed to do that's good you know because you've got level rate depth and then you're all alone how much on 12 o'clock yeah but in the world of modulation that means half of the effect is blended in here that's a lot of a lot of stuff it is I use that on the clean I use that for the one so at the beginning and that was the only thing I used before but it works out of that into the JHS banzai now this is an absolute stonker of a tube screamer pedal because it has I think it's ten to the ten one two three four five six seven eight nine different tube screamer circuits in one box Wow it's amazing this is this is a signal only slightly bigger than this one yeah yeah and they're obviously it's designed to be a tube screamer but like I say you can do TS 9 sts 808 you can do the Kili modded stuff all that kind of thing I put on TS 9 because cut use the TS 9 as well you know you do know he's got his own signature wall right yeah I know he has a signature so news just in Kirk Hammett has a signature wall which we already knew and I wanted ten of the in fact I wanted 20 of Kirk's signature yeah now you can make like a wire halo yeah you better say that he is a coke how's the signal guys did you know that Kirk has a signature wha he has a signature what hang on sorry hello because this guy telling me that hang on hang on Kirk I'm been told Kirk has a signature what really I think I just gotta tell you it's just come up on Google here as well as Google messages all right I got a text that said Kirk has a signature Wow okay alright so basically I think Kirk has a signature wha thanks I thanks for clearing that article so we didn't get we didn't get any news code signature while there he has and I'm thinking my have just come out right now right okay in any case we come out of the bonsai into the front of this absolute bay a mass of metal tonnage and that is the Messer engineering triple rectifier it's 150 watt valve head you can choose between 6 l 60 L 3406 aisle 6 side and I went between channel 1 and channel 3 both in 150 watts modes because I just figured the Headroom was worth it and to be honest if it sounds really good let me just give you a straight up oh and also I forgot to mention I'm using the Fender tray verb on top of the mess around that was a last minute decision because I thought the triple rec had reverb in it it doesn't okay so people's like and he didn't also get the EQ in the end no I didn't but then Pete was like use the tray verb because it's great and it is great did the job got on the plate setting the LEDs mark out the sayings so this is how it sounds whoa this is with the bonsai on straight in actually bonsai off Maxon fat that's pretty fat yeah that's reminiscent of Metallica already it is and then when you throw on the tube screamer [Music] [Music] very very good gray roof love that roof and the cool thing is of course we we have to show this [Music] [Music] so that is my rig that's how it sounds I was I could show you the clean but you're here for all the gain are you [Music] you [Music] and that brings me on to mine and here we have the James Hetfield's Ltd snakebites in this beautiful matte black finish of excuse my fingerprints loaded with EMGs and it's the headset right it is a headset and totally totally matte black this is mating career believe it or not beautiful guitar actually plays really really nicely stays in tune all the things you'd expect a nice guitar to do so yeah sound I'm really Matt basically straight into this which is the Ibanez ts9 similarly to Revere over here and then as I said in the shop the I couldn't get hold of the JC 120 or even a JC 40 all the little one the 22 so I opted to gamble with the ce2 wise a craft but boss now this has the original ce-1 circuitry inside it so I'm using that saying at the moment that's all my clean stuff and then directly into the front of this which is a mess of boogie mark 5 head one thing I did end up going for the mark 5 and be in the triple rack with these were the two messes we had on tap Hetfield was known for using the mark 2 C++ which this mark 5 has in it however it didn't quite have the snarl I was looking for together that which yours kind of has on tap straight out so I ended up using the mark 4 setting on this so sorry to the purists I'm hoping that it got closer it suddenly went more scoop to thrash sounds but it definitely did it definitely did so I hope it got there anyway it sounds a little something like this yeah that's sand with I actually just a note I did have a level on ful but I had very very continuous feedback yeah so the level has been written down a little bit but everything else on zero yeah I mean to be fair the best thing about tube scream is that mid bump that it gives you and suddenly just makes that sound way more ballsy it tightens up that low-end so when you're chugging it's just like every little punch yeah I really enjoy the sound of high gain with the tube ski just thickens it up doesn't it and yes it as we always say gives it a push [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] it's funny method doesn't have the high-gain tone that I would normally go for in my music this stuff I like to play more of a British well just I don't even know if it's that it's just the way messes high gain sounds quite spongy and chewy for my taste and it's got a lot of that top-end its fizz you know if you're similar to orange in that way yeah I think but these are way smoother like to the ear just sat in the room then loud you know but it's not like you do here this is like five amps in one so yeah there's a lot of variation but when we put the Ibanez on suddenly it makes it just sound like every metal record ever true story to be honest it's really fun I was a huge fan of Metallica when I started playing guitar one of the first things I tried to do was learn master puppets some guy who was helping our house get built gave me a tab book of mastery puppets and that's what started me off into the world of like heavy solarii stuff and then went off on a mad mission so it's really nice playing these and listening back to it going yeah that reminds me of my youth and all that kind of stuff I missed a bottle of Metallica but having spent a few days playing some Metallica riffs it's been really heavy field is the guy he is the guy a lot of times that guy yeah man okay well anyway that sound like Metallica by busting the bank yes let us know how you think we did was it better than without busting or was it not hopefully it was I preferred playing with these rigs than last time yeah I think I remember it being a lot harder last time yeah but this was great cool and let us know who else you'd like us to try and sound like and we'll do our best gear links in the description box below and as always I've been revered and I've been madness has been sound like on Anderson's TV yep see you later did you know what Kirk Hellman has a sickness with Walker did you know did you know that come Messer isn't the kind of amplifier guitar a high-gain sound I would go for personally my own share some beers are just doing the back it's early I forgot I was like doing you
