SoulHaven Pottery Kiln Opening #11

hi everyone star with soul Haven Pottery um so I'm waiting for this Kil to get cooled off so I could open enough I have to go to work today if I didn't do it now I'd probably do it tonight when I get home and then I wouldn't feel like filming so you guys would miss out so so I I have like a super fan at work his name is Dr ibraimi and I wanted to make him something because he's always asking me about my videos and my YouTube Channel and he's a subscriber and he gets notifications and I'm just really grateful for that so I have a couple mugs in here for him I'm hoping they turned out good so we'll see hopefully at least one of them did um the other one I put quite a bit of glaze on so it's most likely going to be a runner but if it dripped I put it on a raised cookie hopefully I'll be able to salvage it but anyway we'll see we'll see what happens so thank you for watching thanks for being here with me and let's do this realized I didn't have my mic on so I just went and oh my goodness all right so I'm going to use my oh I'm going to use my pottery app this time cuz I didn't have time to make notes so hopefully that'll be okay I'll just edit it down all right all right so all right this is pretty so I used some of my um Moroccan clay I just put pearl white on this put a little bit too much maybe but I'm just going to make some candle holders uh well candles um I was put in the wait list on The Beverly Harold's art show by the way so unless someone can't do it then I probably won't be doing that this may but we'll see maybe they'll let me know at the last minute so this is just pearl white two or three times I probably should have just put two in the middle cuz it ran quite a bit and messed up my swirl but that's okay it's still pretty it's going to be a candle anyway so um but it's nice on this clay it kind of turns a little blue okay so Dr ibraimi this is one of the mugs that I made for you uh Bruins he wanted Bruins colors so that's very pretty this Clay is speckled so it looks like pin holes down there but there are no pin holes um this is Amber topaz by moo inside um I didn't write this one down cuz I just decided to do it last minute um on the outside is a mix of Azure Dream by coyote and um sorcerer Stone and then I put some seaweed over it that's always a nice combination and I think I put light flux on the rim you can see it running inside more than than outside but that's a nice mug right there I hope you like it and I see the other one like I feared might have ran darn it so let's see if I can get it out of here oh oh wow dang oh it feels kind of loose like maybe I can tap it off my cookie broke okay so that's Dr ibrahim's second mug that's really pretty look at that and I put Indigo float inside so this has a combination that I've done before but I put more glaze on it I will be able to just knock this off if I'm very careful I don't want it to pluck off the Clay um and it ran oh look at that drip it ran a little bit there but I can grind that off off so yay my Super Fan mugs came out I'm so glad all right so let's carefully put this down this is the cookie saved my Kil shelf um but that's how much it ran on the other side and then it this might have been broken when I put it in cuz I still use them even if they're broken in half okay this is another little pot or candle holder it's got a little lid it might be might need to tap it Loose I have this old stool leg here that I usually use but it's probably going to take a a lot of tapping cuz it's not really not really um working right now uh so this is let me find it this is just um honey flux and um Birch it could be pearl white though but it looks different I don't think it's PE white I think it's honey flux and then I just put Birch around the top and around there inside is the same honey flux and I think I put a little bit of birch but I can't really show you right now so that's cute okay so I made this swirly tumbler um Hobble Creek Pottery had a little short and it looks super fun so I decided I wanted to try try it and use kimchi on it because of all the texture and because I love kimchi um got some crawling on the inside not sure why this is white opal by moo so I don't know maybe it doesn't like this clay or maybe I didn't get uh thick enough coats right there but I'll refire that one oh my gosh okay well I'm darn it I made um someone else at work CeCe uh bought damn that's a shame bought um the peon picture from me and these I made these uh tumblers for her but I put way too much glaze or they ran a lot let's see oh uh just a hot cone five the six started to bend a little bit so not crazy hot but I probably put pearl white on this but I think I only put one coat um so what I did on these is snap dragon around the top um sangria well Snap Dragon was times two sangria just right here * 1 I put textured Autumn around the bot bottom and then Soft Red over that just times one and only down to like right here and then I put also Birch around the middle that ran a lot more than I expected cuz I didn't damn I can't there's probably there's no way I can fix that I'm going to make her some more though um I they turned out much better than I thought because I threw a tumbler and then I cut the top off and then I put the peon texture on um and then I threw put left the cup on the wheel and then I put the top back on and you know kind of handb built through on the wheel so there's the other one such a shame inside is soft red and Birch which is a lovely love L combination um so [Music] sad going into the Mosaic Tile bucket gorgeous gorgeous strips on those hopefully this isn't Focus I always have such a problem with my focus and my freaking light have my garage door open a little bit maybe that's better sorry CeCe this is a little plate that I made to go with a planter so the plate is textured Autumn x 2 with hot chowder and sangria swirled on that's a cool cool result there wow that's the back and here's the pot which ran damn it wow there's the pot uh looks like it's just stuck on one side over here cuz I had it a little too close like it wasn't centered at all got a note to self Center on the thing next time and it's just got like a honey flux just halfway down cuz it's a planter um but this one is textured autum around the bottom time 2 aumn purple top time 2 oh this inside is cream by Clay escapes which is a really nice cream I love it it's a little speckly shows the Speckles through and it's kind of like a flux glaze too if you put it on the outside of things or mix it with other glazes very stable by itself um and then I did put pearl white on the outside over the Autumn purple and then I put sangria around the middle and I added some sea spray and hot chowder so no more hot chowder and pearl white together but hopefully I can save it cuz it just has that one little drip right there see how close that is crazy and this is the third refire not going to fire it again because it's just is not I put some I put Autumn or Atlantis aqua and um some lighter glazes on this to try to lighten it up but crazy so I added sorcerer Stone and antique Jade and pearl white ran right there um but the black adventuring that I put on first and whatever else was on there yeah just keeps absorbing everything uh maybe someone will like it I'll sell it like as a second or something we'll see um so I like the shape of the bottle though it's a nice it's a nice oil bottle I have my alarm set so if I have to run out of here sometimes I use these stilts upside down like this is what I had um that bottle on I'll just use them this way cuz I don't like the I don't like the marks that this makes and it works just fine this way I'm going to have to grind my shelves from those cups yay there's the baby lamp shade or it's not the baby one it's the other one shelf grinding not fun oh wow that turned out different all [Music] right oh that's not bad so I put this uh little hanging this little Art Tile back in because it had a chip right there and I [Music] used I used this stuff um let me get it real quick I got it at lagona in Los Angeles last time I was there because I was almost out of bis fix so this is by Mr Marx the same guy that makes the uh or the same company that makes the wax the purple and pink wax which I really like um so yeah so I glued back the little chip and then I reglazed it and it's amazing it's like it works now and I add a little bit more textured turquoise down there so it's a and some sangria around there it's a tiny bit better as far as the color it's going to look really pretty with the beads I have a bead hanger here and I have two bead hangers here and I have three holes in the bottom so and two holes to hang on top we'll see how that I'll show it to you when I finish it or I'll put it on Instagram or something okay I'm hoping this did not stick I put a lot of alumina hydrate under the lamp shade oo oh damn it oh oh tiny bit plucked off right there but I can damn no that that cracked off too I tried to wipe oh and it looks like it has a crack in the side of it okay live and learn so this is the lampshade I did a a cherry blossom Celadon inside and I think the colors are so soft and pretty I put zinc free clear on the outside um nothing I'm going to sell of course now because of the little cracks and the chips oh these are so much work you guys uh there's got to be a better way but I love the way it looks it's so cute and with beads hanging around the bottom can you imagine and I'm going to see how it looks with the pink on the inside I didn't really want to put anything color on the outside cuz I didn't want it to cover the trans the decals or transfer but I think with a light inside it's just going to have a nice pink sweet glow all right let's put this over here okay so Tiffany at Hobble Creek pottery made these gorgeous um heart bowls which I've made in the past I haven't made any for a while but I had this a damn it I have this batter [Music] bowl I don't know if I can salvage it I have this batter bowl um heart batter bowl and believe it or not this is fire brick I I did it just the way she said she did it and it turned pink but it's pretty but I didn't get the red at all um but I put this these two rings underneath and um obviously didn't think about the shift that would happen in the Kil so it's only stuck in a couple places hopefully I can get it off and um save it if I have to like refire it to smooth it out it's only really stuck on one two Tiny Places but this is fire brick um I actually used Birch instead of winterwood maybe that's what changed the maybe that's why the color changed so much so I put fire brick well I put wind uh Birch first uh times two and then I put fire brick around the top and then whatever else she said I didn't write it down because I wrote down oh I think it's pearl white birch yeah it looks like it looks like it's either pearl white or honey flux but I think it's pearl white and that's probably why it ran so much look at that handle drip cool anyway cute little thing but another near disaster not batting 100 guys all right so I have this bowl and I planned on uh making a candle out of this too that's pretty on the outside it's kind of crazy the way it turned out so I put tiger's eye by makeo two times in and out and then I put um swirled in magical Mist by uh Western and then I put um SE spray swirl inside and then and then I flicked the clay Scapes cream in there you can see it more on the back the flicks of it but um not really I don't really like the brown brown that's tiger's eye it usually does a little bit better for me but I didn't get as much variation I think I put it on too thick I put too many coats um so normally I put one coat and then I'll just put a spur ATC second coat um and then this is magical mist and SE spray on the rim I made another bowl like this that was really lovely the inside uh didn't blend as much so there was more variation in color and I just textured the rim might make a nice like three candle thing three candle candle three wiip three wick candle okay I'm going to get this these shelves out of here and again hot conb 5 this is the six okay there's some weird results in here I made some trivets but I used uh the Santa Fe M I don't like these at all or maybe the blue one it's just the red clay probably I might need to refire them some yeah that's weird and it's a little warped I don't know usually I have not so good of luck with the Art Tile warpage cuz I let this dry forever and I had sandbags on it but not a good combination I think it's like Autumn purple sangria textured turquoise and pearl white that's crazy it it didn't blend cuz I had it flat if I had it propped up like I fired all these flat so that's weird this one's pretty though this is a blue people like blue so it goes this way me see what I put on here I'm pretty sure I scrubbed in like two coats of blue roual and then I put um Atlantis aqua over that time two and then I put some floating blue in some of the recesses and then and pearl white just like lightly over the texture just so everything with blend that's pretty nice on the Santa Fe clay and it'll have beads like this hangers beads it's a a antique lace imprint with these really cool um Jacobian flowers and leaves and bins all right now these YY things uh so this was strok and coats and I put I was trying to do like that color technique but I put zinc free clear over the top top and I think that might have affected it um so that's not pretty not pretty this one's a little better but it's a lot better actually so that was just a stencil that I brayed in there um that's just alumin hydrate on there I put it under flat things so they can move and not stick but doesn't always work with the porcelain or more uh plastic Clays they just uh they're tenacious all right so that's pretty let me see what I did to that so this is um I I did put strok and coat jaded on this first like right around here and then I wiped it back cuz I wanted it to be in the little holes here um and then I put antique Jade by lagona in the middle and I wiped that back and then I put sangria um ancient iron actually because I thought it was dragon's eye I had all these glazes open in front of me and I accidentally put ancient iron but it looks it's okay um and then I put um kimchi and Autumn purple just kind of randomly over everything so I'll put a little leather holder here so it's a pretty big siiz trivet that's pretty okay one one more shelf I think under here making good time it's only 9:30 I don't even know what I have under here I took a picture of this shelf so I could do my notes but then I didn't oh that crawling again on the Santa Fe clay that's crazy on all of them okay well it's the white opal so obviously the white opal does not like oh this is so pretty look at that this is my uh go-to you know the combination that I love which is Autumn purple kimchi sangria and pearl white and then you know what maybe this is the maybe this is clayscapes cream let me see all right I have some other cups for CeCe in here and oh I think they turned out okay yay oh they're pretty these were some that I put bottoms on and they popped off so I had to try to stamp my my signature on there which isn't too too cool but all those are cute so this these will go with the peon pitcher soft red and Birch inside and then the Snapdragon sangria soft red and Birch on the outside and boy they just made it to the bottom and I didn't oh I had them on little little tiny cookies look at that cute little swirl on the [Music] inside this one didn't get it but that's a nice strip right there beautiful yay um okay this is kind of a pretty combo let's see what I did oh so that last one was oh that last one had hot Chowder on it by the way and what oh and I did put clay Scapes cream inside yeah so this one is Autumn purple bottom * 2 kimchi top * 2 sangria * 1 over the meat and then I put hot chowder at The Rim instead of cream I love that and it didn't run as much as pearl white and then that is clayscapes cream inside I'm not sure why it's crawling maybe it just doesn't like this clay cuz I haven't used it for a long time although it's a fresh batch uh so this one so I put honey flux time 2 around the bottom pearl white * 2 around the top dragon's eye around the middle and then I put ancient Jasper near the rim and then I put iron yellow at The Rim in and out and I put ancient iron inside I was going for like a man combo you know like a something more masculine but that's pretty I like the way it dripped and the ancient iron does do much better with only two coats and you get that turquoise variation when you swirl it in I can't really show you the whole bottom I don't think um I ref fired that does does not look any different I refed this little jelly cup um and I just added some sangri I think around the top or something I didn't write it down but looks pretty much the same maybe a little less green and red damn it I'm so disappointed on about my candles so there's that cream again horrible so I'm just going to refire them you know with something else inside that outside is lovely this is Desert Blue by um lagona and I put NEPA around the top with some light flux that's pretty inside will have to be done again so weird it makes it look like it's on Santa Fe clay but look it's on the lagona 607 no pin holes I did the slow cool program um yeah I like that another little candle holder um this is oh look at the cream worked in there that's cream * 2 and then I put um Cirrus flow on the outside time two Cirrus flow breaks green or it's green I guess if you put it on thinner so I just put two coats and then I put nebula on the rim that's a nice combination pretty so shocked that's cream clayscapes cream I wonder what the difference is so weird it's on the same [Music] clay um then I did some little I had some scrap clay so I this is um antique Jade by lagona on the Santa Fe clay and then I put Indigo float and Atlantis Aqua on the top probably not enough coats of the Atlantis Aqua couple more things a some more another little candle holder um this one is uh nebula in * 2 and over the rim and then this is kimchi * 3 and the nebula came over on top of the kimchi that's pretty one little Penny holy thing it's not really a pin hole it's just like almost like a crawl tiny crawl that's a nice combination I want another swirly tumbler um Hobble Creek Pottery has a short on it looked so so fun I can't get mine to spin like she does though and get as like uh altered so this one has Autumn purple on the bottom these floating glazes are amazing on texture I just love them um Autumn purple time 2 on the bottom time 2 to three I think I just put light over the top of the texture for the third coat and then kimchi on the top 2 to three and then I put pearl white inside on this I think I like pearl white better inside than I do cream cuz it Doesn't crawl and then um actually I put hot Chowder on the outside of this just lightly like lightly over the texture cuz I wanted it to I didn't want it to run really crazy that's a nice little tumbler I like it okay one more thing another candle another candle uh Bowl I just did these fluted edges on there um beautiful this is the sorcerer Stone I had a just a little bit left so I wanted to use it up sorcerer Stone times two in and out and then I put seaweed in like I swirled it intimes 1 and then I put antique Jade in and out times one over that over the seaweed and then I probably just put it on the rim here um cuz you can see where some stuff kind of ran and then I put pearl white um pearl white at The Rim inside and just like on the top right here cuz I did not want it to run um I've had this combination stick to the Shelf before so there's that all right you guys not too many crazy disasters but just a few is enough so now I can go to work and not think about how I can't wait to come home and open the Kil so thanks for watching you guys um not
