Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
I'm really hoping to see Grant do a video on the mathematics behind numerically solving (finite element method) these PDEs in the differential equations series. Grant, if you're watching, help me out here! :)
... So it looks like you're (meaning u/3blue1brown ) going to cover in two videos what the first half of my Boundary Value Problems class was on.
I've been checking youtube every day, just waiting for this video. Anything from 3b1b? No? Well guess there is nothing to watch then. I had almost given up hope, then suddenly....Hooray! Thank you Grant for making such amazing content!
Where was this when I took my PDEs final last week. š
If I understand correctly, he actually made a case that, from the point of view of deriving the specific PDE, the Neumann boundary condition is the natural one for the heat equation? His dismissal of the Dirichlet boundary condition didn't come just from his numerical simulation?
Shouldn't you probably watch the video before you post it? It's literally been out for 5 minutes.
this video is great!
how convenient! I'm taking PDEs right now. XD
