foreign on the lathe machine it is nothing but a pattern of a straight angle or a cross line is rolled into the material the operation knurling are of four type on today's episode diamond pattern which is one of the type of knurling operation I am going to draft a knurling or cut knurling pattern on 100 mm long and 40 mm thick circular shaft all together we are going to learn and perform six of them SolidWorks features in the process of making knurling they have been mentioned in the description section of this video go to front plane select front plane sketch and go to Circle centered Point Circle should be selected and go to the center point of the front train and draw a circle selects a smart Dimension give a dimension to the circle it is 40 mm DIA click ok exit click OK and exit and then go select the sketch go to feature go to excluded both and give 100 mm off length and click ok then go to the the starting plane and bring it to the normal to the screen go to a sketch selects Center Point Circle and give exactly with a radius 20 click ok go to feature go to curve and select helical and a spiral here you have to give a start angle of 0 degree with one revolution and Pitch should be 100 mm in opposite direction select reverse Direction over here and click ok now select the same plane and bring perpendicular go to a sketch draw a rectangle randomly I am drawing a rectangle again I go to us line under and join both both the midpoint with a line again same select and I can select the line they put the midpoint click select and one one more feature here trim entities so you have to trim uh apart from the triangle here click OK s here also trim it this also trim and this and here also click s and three construction line inside select a sketch and go to feature select swipe cut now the sketch has been selected now you have to give a path and the path is that helical helical and click ok now here I you have to use one or more feature circular pattern go to linear pattern go to circular pattern and here you have to select from the part and select sweep shift cut sweep and here you have to select the that surface now you can see in hello uh color it already have drawn now you as you click OK the cut will be able to scene on the surface now the groups has been seen over here but uh it is not looking like a diamond cut so select right plane okay select right plane go to a linear pattern that again click and go to mirror now here you have to select the uh circular pattern okay and click ok now you can see that our uh knurling has been done on this on the body on the circular body circular body this is very easy and if you want to give any appearance to it you can go to app and firstly select the body part one okay and then go to go to uh metal go to Steel I am giving polished steel okay if you want to give a drop only you have to select the color and drop to the uh that body on the screen you can change the color of the body thank you for watching this video hope you like subscribe share for more comment below thank you
