because I think the Poodle's a little reactive so let's watch some sit so you can sit nope sit tell them no sit no today we're going to continue on with our dog in town going to town with with Ziggy here um and just let's see how he's progressed from last week let's see where he is and let's let's address some real common problems but most of all let's take our dog to town let's get them socialized let's get them exposed and let's have some fun good so same thing as leash just keep that leash walk just keep the leash real loose we don't want any pressure on them and we're just going to ignore him but no matter what he does right or wrong we're just going to kind of let him absorb the environment right got a potty that's fine but that was his chance to potty he's not going to get to mark on everything and what I would probably do with him is I'd probably consider when we make sit unhook the prong Coller okay because the environment's real stressful for him we don't want to put any more stress on that okay perfect decision go around yeah go around the street uh sure let's do it have him sit here and just unhook the prong and keep him on the Martin Gill good good that's perfect so you don't need that physical correction let's keep going straight he's kind of responding to your spatial correction like he's not feeling where you are in your spatial presence right yeah because if you if he has that leash pressure then you're going to have the issue of him always knowing where you are and he can be a jerk right he can blow you off here he can't blow you off here you slow down a little bit on this corner we'll see what he does right see what he's doing and we stop and he stops doesn't matter if he's sitting right now don't put that pressure on him let him kind of hey yeah okay he's going to do it you let him you let him get that far and because he is that's fine yeah but he's kind of trying to figure what he should do so that's fine don't put too much pressure on to sit down because he's a little soft we want to make it easy for him so let's go down and we'll you might even give him like Hey sit and give him a little push on the butt so that it doesn't get um punitive at all with him it's not a correction it's just kind of some information what we'll do is we'll go sit out at Starbucks a little bit and kind of good so now he's yeah now he's getting a little bit he's what should I be doing and the D becomes too if you engage a lot with the dog on a walk eventually you're going to have to disengage you're going to talk to somebody you're on your path when you engage and disengage just keep walking um so that it's this is just part of your walk it's not part of a training thing because the minute you stop talking to him then he starts to go oh what's up I should do something you're not paying attention to me if you never pay attention to him then he doesn't have that option he just knows that we're walking can smell and see and whatever and we'll cross over here at the crosswalk good he's doing great there's a lot of kids up there a lot of smells and sights and sounds and we'll cross over here and let's just see if he sits on his own if he doesn't just real gently tell him to sit and give him a little physical cue so here real gently gentle good sit there you go like that that's much better for him and let's go there good so instead of that aversive re that that correction popping them you're just going to go okay I'm going to just slow down and let them kind of go a little bit into the leash away from you and see what happens let's walk him into the post office his environmental change will make a little bit of a difference and let's see how he handles it we'll cross over here it good good choice that's kind of how I want you to expose them to you know going in and out of businesses boom boom boom okay and then spend more time more time more time as it goes we could do the same thing up here at CVS too okay we'll go in and out do y good that's all the correction he needs so he's trying to figure out we should be doing something right and he has to just realized we don't have to do anything so we just going to walk in CVS right back out so super easy In and Out In and Out in and out okay good boy I almost called him easy easy so we'll just sit outside over here by the Starbucks and see what happens and that's really good to show him that if you're walking with somebody that person can keep going but he's going to lay back he's got to stay with you when if you do it with your wife or whatever he's got to know where that leash that leash is attached he's temped smell he's very tempted yeah just yeah there you go good and the reason you don't want him to do that smelling thing is because it starts to trigger that prey drive right I smell I sniff I pee I Mark I smell I sniff I Pi mark it just it just unwind and then you don't have a pleasurable walk and neither does he because he becomes OCD I got a and then there's a sniff over there then there's a dog over there the walk is a walk all he's going to do with you is walk and that's it you know okay let's go to right here okay so no let's watch what happens with this poodle cuz I think the Poodle's a little reactive so let's watch tell to sit so you can sit nope sit tell no sit okay no y tell no sit okay sit don't get upet with him just tell him sit sit good so the poodle came up to him that made him go up to the poodle let's go let's go that was just a response of curiosity cuz he left the dog go up to your dog let's just sit out here here for a minute and let's get him under the table getting him relaxing hey be sure to subscribe to this channel hit the thumbs up and hit the Bell the notification Bell because that will alert you to all my upcoming videos and I know you're going to love them yeah sit right here so then have him like lie down try to find a shady spot if you find if you can find one if not just have him lie down see go down good nope nope go down nope good nope down down good perfect so this is how he should enjoy this good uh uh uh uh down good hey no no no down down it's okay this is part of this is totally normal for the dog good good now just ignore him and again the only thing he's going to get is the information if he's doing it wrong and it's counter to what we always do we always reward him for he's doing right but by rewarding him when he's right it's going to release him right so we want him to understand I'm going to stay in this position until I'm released we're only going to have him do about three or four minutes right that's all we're going to ask for and if you want to see the rest of this video head over to my website Robert cal.com for all the best dog training available [Music]
