So You Want a Nissan 370z

I'm gonna walk in I'm going to talk about the fact that we got a brand new shirt I'm going to talk about a new shirt and the shirt is this month's giveaway shirt and this month it's pink it's awesome it matches my shoes your socks if you see them I mean they kind of do they kind of don't I got some fun socks okay don't judge the socks look at the back oh yeah clutch and Fi new giveaway T this want a Nissan 370z so maybe you wanted a drift missile or maybe you're just saving up for a GTR either way a 370z is probably a good choice for a lot of different reasons because it's a 370z we're talking about the good old wide body of Nissan that doesn't have the name one of my favorite movies from 1998 I mean the Nissan 370z was like what the 350z should have been right out of the gate but like you know sometimes it takes an alley comeback and you just come back a little bit harder and that's the 370z so we're just gonna get into some of the history before we kind of delve into if you should actually Omo so the 370z is the older brother to Nissan 350z which is basically not as cool a little bit slower a little bit more soft of a sibling and I know it's mean but if you just look at 370z it's so it's so like angry like rawr XD it's so like wide it's so like thick I mean it's the 6th generation of Nissan Z's which actually started out with 240 Z and 69 which were pretty neat and the 370z made its good ol appearance in 2008 which was a pretty decent year I mean Britney Spears is going nuts there's high school musical Obama became president I mean it was it was a little bit of a weird time in the grand scheme of things I was going on but I mean for the most part if you didn't know what a home 2008 wasn't actually half that when you take a look at 370 Z's it's a very short and thick car and it pushes around 350 ponies and it only has two seats it seems like it's a bit of a confused teenager though of a car because it doesn't seem to know what it wants its grille Drive and does drift avoid things but at the same time it kind of just seems like it wants to be your typical chill roadster not only that but the v6 VQ is a bit of an oddball of like a motor powerplant and even though it doesn't make some pretty sweet noise it's not everybody's first choice to modify if you're looking for a drift car you've probably come to the right place ish the 370z is a short wheelbase rear-wheel drive car that has a ton of aftermarket potential so it does fit in right at home in the drift community even without modifying the car it can be pulled right off the lot and you can find an abandoned parking lot do all sorts of crazy with your car to run into you know some sort of light pole or curb your wheels because that happens every time and that's fine but there's a reason that the drift scene is so littered with 350 and 370 sees and that's because they are just a real drive coupe car now they are heavier than most two-door coupes but that really is negated by the style quality and experience that the 370z provides to a lot of enthusiasts and in the drifting community if you can get it sideways with just a little bit of extra power and still keep some of the looks that a lot of people are going to enjoy it plus truth be told not everybody likes to drift to 40s X's I know so what can you do with a 370z and what should you address right away if you decide to buy one well I mean typically 370z owners really have a tendency to go one of two ways they either like do a couple bolt ons maybe they do a supercharged leg a little bit moderately tuned and all that sort of stuff or they go straight car shows seen with the three-piece wheels the wide-body stuff the angry Aero the big letters everybody living in peace like all of the angry stuff the halo headlights the taillights the spoiler the side skirts the arrow the diffusers the splitters the custom exhaust that's all blue burnt tipped and then the license plate has to say something that includes the word Z in it like it has to have that you obviously gonna see like the Z Society sticker you've got to see like all of that and then after all of it the Instagram is made Klout is earned and life is good let's go back to the first one first so one of the first things people do with 370 Z's is they kind of like just they give us some new lungs you know it's the exhaust that's the intake etc and you know it's good but as long as you know that the bigger isn't always better especially with the 370z platform the clutch on these cars typically only handles about a 40 percent increase over OEM power so if you're really looking to pump those numbers up you're probably gonna want to go with a new clutch as far as aesthetics go with the 370z you can pretty much take any route you want because these cars come off the lot with like a huge just beautiful just mmm like that just it looks good you know it just has a good but mmm it just looks good man you can put like a bowl of ramen on the hips of that car it's insane the other way people go with the 370z is full car show scene mode and the reason that people do that is because the body aligns with everything that makes the car seem so popular right now one thing to note is that these cars can fit huge wheels on them with a stock fender setup I mean it's insane the amount of wheel you can fit underneath these cars and if you end up going with a wide body you're over fun or something like that it gets even more insane with how wide of a setup you can fit now with the wide rear fenders a lot of people love the fact that you can go with an aggressive Aero setup on the car you can make it look the full track prep battle arrows type thing and it looks really insanely good I mean 370 Z's have the set up for probably some of the most perfect overall aesthetics that you can have on any aftermarket car and that's why people really really enjoy these cars is because the aftermarket potential on these things in terms of just like the looks and the car scene is huge it's huge it's absolutely massive I mean everything about the Nissan like community is big but for this stuff it's even bigger it's absolutely incredible the amount you can buy for a 370z you thought car ID had quite a few options you should see what happens when you head out and check out wheels tires suspension feminine issues that economy is entering the 370z because that's just no net 370 Z's are priced all over the map and you can expect to find one depending on the age and condition anywhere from like 12 K it's almost $30,000 for a new one the knees moans are probably the ones that you're gonna want to keep an eye out for the most if you're looking to actually keep the dollar in your pocket after you buy the car because those are the ones that hold their value the best and in terms of modifying them there's actually not a whole lot you have to do if you don't want to they have a very clean minimalistic approach that looks really good on them too if you're not a big fan of the super big super deep wide sort of angry setup however don't forget to keep your eyes peeled just any other car 370 disease do have a few issues maybe one of the most common is how bad the throttle response actually is and how much you have to move the pedal to get anything out of the car like you step down and it takes about a year and a half to actually get the car to get its own acting gear which is a little bit of a weird feeling it takes a little bit to get used to the interior is also a pretty common complaint they have these like gauge pod looking things and one is you know once a clock you know which is I mean it's cool it's cool to have a gauge set up in a car I just don't know if it would be a clock it's like maybe it was meant to make it look grey scary but you should probably just put a Y band and just call it good the interior ended up being both a cool design but it has a lot of like dated plastic bits and electronics and it is a little bit weird and if you're looking to purchase on older 370z they also did come with a couple electrical and steering issues to keep that whole train running although they do have a ton of aftermarket potential I'm not sure how many guys have seen the engine bays in these cars but they don't exactly have any room they took a cue from BMW and just removed the fun out of actually working on your car at all so having fun installing the mods is pretty much non-existent which is why you actually see people just cut the hood because that's sometimes easier to deal with any sort of things instead of just modifying it appropriately 370z s also have a little bit of competitiveness with the g35 and g37 which has some similarities but I feel like the potential on the 370z is a little bit larger and therefore people enjoy the 370z just a little bit more so I don't know if we'll end up seeing the car actually become a JDM legend like you know the 240z or the rx-7 or the Supra or anything like that but you would probably be pretty hard pressed to say that once Nissan 370z flatline in terms of depreciation that they'll actually stay there you'll likely see the NEEMO prices go up over a certain period of time and for good reason they're actually pretty fun car that is a spirited driver fun touring car and does have quite a bit of potential as long as you can
