Did he solve a problem he didn't address in the video? It's a pain in the ass to make snow balls and this uses a lot of snow balls.. Where is the solution?

Once you've made enough snowballs throwing them by hand is no less efficient. This was my standard tactic back in the day: get under cover, produce 10-12 projectiles, go on full offensive. Plenty of ammo combined with accurate placement wins every time.
