what's up explorers today we find ourselves exploring the parts of Toronto that are seldom seen on TV or the movies an industry that brought a lot of controversy to the community that surrounded it today we are exploring a location nicknamed the factory of death join us as we take you through the bowels of what was Toronto's last operating Pig plan so guys this place is known to have active security in camera so we're gonna try our best to get side undetected we'll take you guys along to the right catch inside all right so we did one Scout down there and there was one guard that I saw but he's on the complete opposite side of the building as predicted so we should be good to go in this way so could you guys decide through its nail up be careful I know let's go let's go here take my camera nobody saw us back there let's go just weightless for it go go after successfully making our way inside we were able to dry off and begin the Explorer so here we are guys we're in Toronto's last Pig plant closed out in 2014 and process six thousand pigs a day provided jobs for 750 Canadians and unfortunately closed down due to a disease that affected piglets so you kind of see the grand size of this place and just the sheer scope that process so many so many pigs a day you know a slaughterhouse this big actually provided a quarter of Ontario's pork production so and it's right beside the rails you can actually hear yeah the trains go by yeah it's very eerie mm-hmm very empty there's a huge drum of carbon dioxide which they would have used for probably the garden governors and their paintball guns on to say that's not Addison no purr for the pigs the when they put them in the chamber they usually carbon dioxide to put them to sleep permanently open that door room just see if I'm there working just get the motor this is like their old truth you wonder if any is actually monster fish obsessions they don't look like any other work the washroom heater all the yeah electrical and heating well this is like a little workbench can you open up they can sorry yeah but she almost like everything's inside here this little like maintenance make my hogs fast yeah see little rubber belts that isn't used here Oh wearing like little tubes pray for compressed gas generators you don't try turning the top often in this place that still does have power sorry I thought I heard a car Lily just drive by was that a train okay well I know we're right beside the rails but like anything Kirsten pressures on you well this looks like the office of the main office building in here you see some of their old uniforms yeah Oh boss watch your step there boys its horn good oh yeah [Music] so yeah on the desk of the PC you find it there and then what does that say a pre-operation check sheet okay since it's a procedural stuff and then you have this big bucket of chemicals you see me say non-toxic odor control systems it says so maybe it's something to do with for like the smell that is the stuff there's just like various office stuff like paper clips see if she loves this is a pause this tie this is looks like one of the hooks on the slaughterhouse line that we saw when we were coming in oh yeah so this is like an example red stuff in a chemical bag here it's all gross there's no labeling but there's like these binders workplace inspections barn floors there's a hole on the floor around that's right where the caution tape was oh yeah like sugar sure needs updating all in doing construction yeah March 7th 2014 Sun but yeah so that this plant didn't close around its 2014 that's a mystery good Toby oh yes these are all just like workplace inspections done tons of binders over here which I guarantee you you all garner the same stuff yeah date back he was farther there's ton of gun weekly cleaning click the pigs and iam ammonia testing Haley hours employees over times yeah this is like all the accounting management all their their filing and stuff you look there's a used to be a branding tool yes they would have had like different numbers yeah see look big I guess these broke off on other parts but you can see these are like spiked so they give the pigs kind of like a stick and poke look they'd have the numbers and they'd slaughter know if that baby Canada that's an old-school man awesome that's good jump over the wall so that's how they counted them and kept track of the pigs I guess Jeff you want to demonstrate the tattoo ha ha ha [Music] [Music] yeah April 2014 so this place definitely for mr. Holloway routine Leo's back from his vacation oh yeah baffle you it'll be good to see Leo never like a phone directory over here there's like the fresh pork sheets with a good all the different cuts that they make that's so cool and then like handling of animals this would have been like like the safety information stuff various papers that look let's be clear water feed the animals should be kept within 24 hours before slaughter protect animals from inclement weather provide adequate ventilation Mary Jimmy yeah it's just a UH is a camera posted up about 50 yards out oh you have that one right there yeah well I mean hopefully they can't see into the office yeah I mean that's a pretty pretty foggy window you know if it wasn't looking this very second so it's a shrine slipped by and not is what it was oh never again hood I'll never be opening another fridge again despite the company's attempts to camouflage the odors with chemicals the ghostly scent of the six thousand daily pigs combined with a musty aroma of rotting wood had a strong presence throughout the factory it was actually a miracle we were able to navigate this place without a respirators massive like area of holding kettles yeah well these are the all these cement barriers are what they would have led the time they would have made them into a maze and led the pigs through these areas here they'd have like water stations either to wash off the pigs or to like give them some water as they move around you can see those pen 14:13 all the way back Jeff which pen is your mom capital all right so now we're coming up on this area with all the caution tape I wonder why this area is sectioned off do you guys see me like I mean I guess because this pipe was coming down so that roofs just caving in real Oh very astute observation so over there it's like actually like down was like straight ahead so you can see these were the hurdles that the pigs would have made their final march through this is where they used to hang the pigs you can see the chains on your right there then what's where you're stepping because there's like metal rivets and stuff and that giant hole in the floor that they talked about in the workplace hazardous so the pigs would have dangled from there and it would have moved a long legged conveyor belt all the way down the plane into the bleeding room so right in front of us here this is actually where they would have the carbon dioxide chamber they would have killed the pigs and then bled them for to be processed into various products so you can see this is the pen that they would have entered through it's somebody put this metal grade of here to block it off so people couldn't go through emergency stops and various controls and then you can see in here this is like the mechanics each one of these is like a cage like one Pig and it would be like a if you like it no it'd be like a merry-go-round of death back the pig would literally you can see they go all the way on each side and the pig would go around in the bucket and then they'd kill the pig and then they'd bring it back around and then go to leave or it would end up right here they pull it out and they put it on the on the spikes yo I think this is where they would stick their AWS into it oh yeah it's like a chart saying like oh there anything on the other side no it's all be hanging them up there yes thank you they wish they'd put them on those uh those metal beams and then everything was really just left behind yeah they have a one so much untouched yeah always the high quality Universal black ink contact cleaner high temperature bearing grease or keys tons lots of just little pieces for too big let's walk up the valley of death here yeah this is the most gruesome part I guess it's not really yeah let's go all the exposed piping too and you can just see the chains right above our head yeah you can you just imagine coming down this ramp that's been very built there's blood try blood all over the lift here and you can see up at the top I don't know if you can see right now but we'll get there thick pretty much just all cured look this is all dried blood on the floor here you can see the water really illuminates it yeah they would have cut they would have bled of them well like they would've had a little bit of blood when they prodded them so like over time it was just when you're doing six thousand picks a day the blood just stains the whole forehead oh yeah but these would have been these workers uniforms somebody's boots everyone rubber boots a berkeley got your uh agreed there's turquoise love possum names here it's belong to fat him at yeah 5506 to one wonder if we could find Leo's yeah it's just a it's just a mink coat you looks like the bleeding room right here give him here the rainwater oh my god you can see the floor is actually stained at the same red on the pathway you can see on the floor little drums and various piping that they'll use to drain the blood so the pigs would pop various points here and they would cut their throats and plug them out Jeff over there just please contain rainwater [Music] look at all the mechanics and metal work [Music] now it just sits at the end okay we're just whoa we're heading out now [Applause] yeah okay so what just happened boys all right guys so I don't know how much we caught on camera because you just kind of panicked some security guy starts talking you so you just ha Brennen probably turn off the camera but um I think we've got bits of it basically guy comes down the corner he says he threw my way and we're like oh he's like police are on their way by the way so he's on the phone yeah he's like he said don't worry don't worry just stay just stay weird like obviously stay yeah so you probably got some clips about sprinting out there frantic I'm torn up by all this game yeah we kind of cut out to dive through the I mean we weren't being too stealthy when we were in there cuz we find what's called if you're trying to make a good video so we had some good narrative for sure but uh yes we got a good portion the remainder would have been extremely high-risk regardless so I think that's bound to happen we go ahead oh yeah we went to the main operate the bleeding room we've got the conveyor belt the holding pens the office yeah we showed you guys and if you guys if you guys do was gonna say sometimes you win time sometimes you win some sometimes you lose some today I'd say it's about a half and half because we did we didn't get caught we got away we got some good footage
