hello everyone it's lunchtime and I'm going to put together a smoked sausage Busan cheese pasta Skillet meal it's a Simply Delicious meal that you can have for lunch or for dinner it's easy and fast to put together so we're going to head to the back burner where we are going to start preparing our pasta and we're going to flavor it first and then that way when it's done we can just incorporate it into our dish you all ready okay in a large pot over high heat we're going to place four cups of water and four cups of chicken broth we want to flavor our pasta for this dish we're going to bring this to a boil while we're bringing our water and broth to a boil we're going to go ahead and start chopping things up because we've got plenty of thyme I am using 14 ounces of a smoked sausage now this is skinless what's great about this dish is you can use any kind of sausage that you like if you like kielbasa if you like turkey anything we're going to cut these into half inch circles I love the smoked sausage smells delicious great flavor I like the kielbasa also I like the chicken sausage that's always good all right we're going to finish cutting these up and then we're going to cut up some bell pepper and then you can use any color you want for this dish I've got half of a green pepper here left over and then I'm going to take just a few slices of the red bell pepper and we'll get that going all right we got that remove that off to the side and then we're going to go ahead and just chop up a yellow onion I'm just going to take off the ends peel off that outer layer cut it in half I'm going to cut rings and then just run the knife through them the other way and we got nice size chops here we want to see the vegetables in this dish but if you like them smaller then you can do that our water and broth came to a boil we're going to go ahead and add 16 ounces of uncooked pasta now I'm using far fall and it's they look like little bow ties but you can use anything you want for this dish if you want to use penne if you want to use elbow pots whatever you want [Applause] I'm going to give it a stir for just a minute that'll keep the pasta from sticking and we're going to cook this for 11 to 12 minutes until Al Dente I'll come back and show you what we're going to do with the broth go ahead and start sauteing our sausage peppers and onions I've got a large Skillet I'm going to place it over medium high heat we're going to add two tablespoons of butter one and two we're just going to keep the butter handy in case we need extra butter let's bring that to a sizzle I already hear the sizzle but I want to get that butter nice and melted all right let's add our onions peppers and our sausage we're looking for the sausage to be nice and crisp on both sides and also the peppers and onions to be nice and softened down and have a little brown to them also now when your pasta is done just turn off the burner just kind of give it a stir so the pasta's not sticking leave it in the liquid for right now see the Browning's going on a little flavor all right we're gonna start tossing it around everything until you get to the desired tenderness of your peppers and your onions we're gonna go ahead and add one teaspoon of minced garlic then we're going to season with all these delicious seasonings right here we've got a quarter teaspoon of salt quarter teaspoon of black pepper see garlic powder a quarter of a teaspoon onion powder and smoked paprika all flavor all right let's stir this all together now I saved one cup of the chicken water broth from the pasta we're going to add that to our sausage peppers and onions [Music] all right bring this all together I'm going to bring this to a simmer and in the meantime let's talk about Busan this is a French cheese and it's not pronounced what you see on the package now I found this in my regular grocery store and it's already flavored this is a shallot and chai flavor and there's many varieties so we're just going to unwrap it yeah got that French flavor going on here we're gonna take off that wrapper and then we're going to place it right into the center of the pan then we'll start just breaking this up into the sauce Busan is a creamy crumbly blend of real cheese and savory herbs just keep stirring it up breaking it up until we get it all melted in there you can substitute cream cheese you can even the Laughing Cow Cheese they say is a good cheese for this gorgonzola we're gonna add in one cup of shaved Parmesan cheese and then we're going to stir in our pasta make sure you drain it any excess liquid you can drain it this time let's go ahead and give this a stir oh look at that [Music] um we're gonna let this sit for about five minutes to absorb all the liquid any excess liquid in there make sure everything is stirred up [Music] all right what do y'all think of my smoked sausage Busan cheese and pasta dish you know I got my Fork ready look at the sausage the pasta that delicious sauce that it made and we got the peppers and the onions in there for a veggie here's my bike hmm okay that sausage has so much flavor the pasta that is delicious um oh yeah that Busan
