hello this is patreon dark welcome back to the channel today I have the Smith Wesson performance center MMP Shield 380ez M 2.0 now Smith Wesson came up with this easy series uh to make a mid-size or a compact Micro Compact size pistol that was easy to manage easy to load and easy to clean so this is geared for people that have obviously some strength issues maybe Mobility or dexterity but I'm gonna actually check this out and see if it might be good for you so let's check it out foreign all the detailed specs of this firearm are listed in the description below as well as a couple links to additional information if you're interested we're going to clear this firearm picking it up keeping your finger off the trigger aiming in a safe direction we're going to drop the mag by using the mag release which is right at the base of the trigger guard on the left side verify that the magazine is clear right and we just rack the slide to the rear verify that it's clear now with this if you do have issues as far as racking the slide and locking it back using the slide lock on the left side pushing it up with your thumb you can drop the magazine verify it's clear reinsert the magazine and rack the slide to the rear then you can visually inspect or use your finger if you're blind right so then you just drop your slide so it is clear so I'm going to set this with the muzzle facing to the right and we're going to start with the top of the slide now since this is a performance center they have updated the sights you have a regular v-notched rear sight and a blade front sight but this is the high VIs uh I guess they call it a light wave or a light pipe site and so I believe this one is green if you can see it but it basically catches the light and so it's really bright and easy to see if you're of that persuasion and need sights right so there is no optic cut on this version right so starting at the back of the slide the back plate is raised as far as on each side so if you look at it from the top you can see that it has these fins or that plate is just extended right and so that makes gripping on that slide a little easier now your rear serrations are basically a Sawtooth so the front edge the Leading Edge towards the muzzle end is a 90 degree cut against the barrel right and then from the top of that cut to the bottom of the next cut is slanted right and so it does have those little scallop serrations like on the other MMP Shields right and so you have a pretty good area to purchase the slide right now if you move just forward of that the slide actually Narrows and that portion on both sides is smooth and you do have a little bit of ramp on that and so if the the serrations are too much for your fingers or whatever you can also gravel on that side right so moving forward the front where the normal serrations of the easy pistol would be you do have three lightning Cuts all right and that's supposed to lighten up the slide they also make it pretty easy to grip onto that slide now I don't know if after firing you know several magazines that might end up getting hot and so you might want to stick with behind the chamber all right and just below that on the slide of underneath the lightning Cuts because you have three lightning Cuts just below that there's kind of like a little bit of serrations left left from I believe where they ended up Machining this out for those cuts so you do have a little portion along there as well that you can grip the slide now the slide does [ __ ] back very easy obviously because of the recoil system in this the springs and stuff and when we tear it apart you'll be able to see that one reason that this is easier to manipulate than other smaller pistols is it's not a striker pistol it does have that internal Hammer so once that's cocked it it you don't have that resistance of the passive uh safety and all that nonsense that the striker fire Epistles have all right now just below um below the slide in the front you do have a short picatinny rail and actually if I locked hook this up backwards here lock the slide to the rear you can also see that on the top of the barrel it is ported that is the portion that is in front of the the slide right and so that that Port is along the top and that controls your muzzle flip right with a 380 it's probably not as bad as uh you know the nine millimeter or whatever um but that releasing the gases keeps that muzzle from flipping right and so going down you do have that picatinny rail you have a nice wide open Trigger guard all right your trigger is an aluminum anodized flat-faced trigger all right and this one's obviously in Black right very nice there's no rough edges on that and it is a flat trigger and then if you go towards the back it does have a grip safety now this is also aluminum and anodized in black and that is actually one of your big safeties on this firearm if you do get the one that has doesn't have the manual thumb safety which we'll flip it over so now it's facing to the left you have an ambidextrous thumb safety which is reminiscent of the 1911 pivots in the back and it's got the two arms that face forward pressing it up is safe like that and then swiping down when you draw is on fire all right and so that is your your main safety then you obviously you have to have your grip safety depressed all right now there was some concerns with the script safety um and my last video covering the equalizer uh that grip safety was different than this it on the top of this grip safety notice it does have kind of a beaver tail where it comes up and widens a little bit that uh Falls below the basically the crook of your thumb where it would normally be on that grip and I don't know if that's really necessary because depending on where you grip this pistol you know that may be in the crook of your finger here you know it's low enough where you're not going to get pinched and so I don't know if keeping it lower like that stops you from getting pinched since the pivot of this grip safety is in the bottom section of the grip but you know maybe taking that off and and having it rounded would be a little bit better but that's the only thing that I noticed that that might irritate you know if you shoot you know a bunch of mags that portion you know might dig into your hand a little bit and we can check your magazine too now these magazines are easy load and so they have the same tab as some of your 22 semi-auto pistols right and so you can basically relieve that pressure of your Fowler and you can lower it and compress that spring without having to push push you know your rounds in there so you can actually drop it down and just drop them in and go down step by step so that makes it easy it's also a little bit deeper on the back side it does have a texture on that that stud but that studs long enough where you may be able to hook it on on a bench if if you have issues as far as that being too small you can pry it up I'm not going to use it on mine but that is an option too so that is another thing that's pretty cool but this is a eight round mag this pistol does come with two of them all right so with this performance center you do get a performance center cleaning kit all right and it covers your 22 through 45 open it up it has a t-handle and it's a take apart it's two piece and then you have your brushes your Jags you have nylon and brass brushes so that's pretty nice the Smith and Wesson performance center Shield 380 EZ M 2.0 and good guys wear black I think it's pretty nice and I think it it will help people that obviously have issues as well as people that just don't want to mess around with those small guns anymore so anyways so thanks for watching make it outstanding day and never feel the dark
