first that are scheduled twelve three-minute rounds in this world boxing Super Series semi-final between the WBC diamond champion Callum Smith completing his twenty four professional contests tonight he's the taller box up wearing the gray trunks trained with blue the more compact figure who is just launched launched a speculative left hook but was made to pay with a stiff counter left jab if the man nicknamed the natural Nicky Halston competing in justice or few professional contests tonight a late notice substitute was caught into this contest had just the start of the week just beaten another ramrod left jab at the arc and right hand over the top wasn't too far away giving the call because the man who was supposed to be facing off against Callum Smith the home fighter Jurgen Braemar former WBA light heavyweight champion of the world pulled out with a virus and that's a good left hand slips left with a body shot from the keyhole skin' showing his innate aggression the former kickboxer I say former he's a current kickboxer but he's taking it to Smith immediately he is by the first minute of fire I think what's been noticeable is callous most beautiful jab he's got real long cause long leave as he throws that Jerry nice head and body I mean it's been a minute enough I already busy he's already got dominating this fight with their beautiful jab is according to the tale of the tape there's a three and a half advantage in height in favor of Callum Smith six feet three towering figure of a super middleweight against the 5 foot 11 and a half stature of Nikki those codes as he scores with a good right hand over the top he was reputed as a fighter who used his users used punches more than kicks yeah but there's one thing obviously being a punch kick boxer but there's another thing flying one of the best stupid race in the world of the minute and ask how no desert live is a step up in levels that Holsten is facing but he won't be intimidated by the I don't think that the change from a southpaw turn off doctor opponent he's gonna affect him too severely he's got a lot of boating ability as we're seeing now he's got a good guard not a lot gets as a Muay Thai and a kickboxer herb herb professional boxing this is a different ballgame I've done a lot of homework on Nicky Hobson he and all of his all of his fights prior to this he's boxed basically in a school gym in front of a handful of people he's never would have fought in an arena like this against a quieter as talented as Cameron Smith for the alley trophy you know I figure I think that's gonna tell as the fire goes down the load most certainly a step up in levels not first at the face anybody remotely in Callum Smith's class but one would suspect as a fighting man to his court should be used to the rigors of combat and perhaps can deal with this stage as well whether he can deal with Callum Smith in his quality as he lands another speculative arcing right hand around the corner well that remains to be seen good right uppercut on the inside from Callum Smith beautiful left jab once again and just to underline the point that Anthony was making that's a beautiful left hook to the body Hoskins showing Mike is mo waving the man back Ian after absorbing that shot but he's previous outing at the start of this month against Victor Polyakov was literally in a school sports hall filmed on somebody's phone and here he is in the circle of lights of the World Boxing super series on this terrific stage for the sport of boxing even calais me for somebody so long and ranked he's got a great body work he's a really good inside fighter which I don't think Nikki orchard would have really appreciated what cities in the ring now we dried uppercut causes the left hook gives you an idea of the number of levels that Holtz and he's stepping up but there's a good counter right hand he's trying to tuck up to repeal this jab it's still getting through but Holston countered with an effective right cross but straight back on that range finding point-scoring left jab he's Callum Smith Holtzman not appearing over awed by the atmosphere here or the stage on which he's boxing carries Callum Smith continuing to pile up the points with that lead left hand I stab and jab to the body there that's gonna slow Daulton down as there as the fight wears on to the middle late round of the fight though his jab to the body through really sucked the wind out of you then it gone in this third round Callum Smith faced four fighters with perfect records it was only a Eric Skoglund prior to this who had made it out of the opening round good body shot from Smith once again through a double left uppercut the second one got through Holston continuing to get into his own punching range now is there no damage sustained by Callum Smith just trying to get a clearer look at that Smith standing his ground digging his back foot into the canvas sniffing just a little bit more noticeably both buyers got real tight defense huh what a lot of work is getting through the punches through this juncture of round number three Smith clearly out landing his man because he keeps tripping out that left hand straight right hand to the body is a nice shot from the WBC diamond jab and then a left uppercut through the middle but it was counted immediately by a left hook from holtz-eakin it's come with a body shot then trying to bring a shot around the corner the beautiful straight right hand driving horse come backwards and then that right hook getting behind a left glove of the Dutchman and then that left hand to the body just cause Holtzman to drop his elbow yeah he's not standing there he's gonna tuck in that part of the turtle shell and he may not begin her body's punch some Callum Smith but Swiss women around the knee and he's dominating around and we saw the last time and they go on screen he's land and much more lobsters rather than if he was the witness why it got to be busier well Thomas Taylor said that that belt line would be fair game he took a hard right hand right on the letters before taking a right hand on this over the top Poston complaining that the shot was low yeah looked below to me but as referee said before the fray and I will Easter Bunny shots what the occasional one does go low I don't think it was a testicle kind of Smith but coaches in the world in the opposite corners Nicky Hilton and then Joe gigas has some great advice don't be too busy with the jab mix up the jab enthusiastic cheering his success but Smith just controlling the distance once again come while Holtz can showboating he's been fed a left jab got his pinpoints as ever big swing and a Miss from Holtz Caen now right uppercut coming through again left uppercut followed it I'm Smith showing great patience and variety here mention the prowess of Joe Gallagher former Ring Magazine trainer of the year of course that an accolade that lasts forever when you look through the annals of that respected trade publication beautiful left jab once again from Smith look at the way Potkin het Hopkins head is being jolted back by that most basic of shots nice right hand to the body and Hoskins simply cannot evade this jab yeah no he's a mrs. Gann tattooed by the jab head and body and along the whole fitness is like obviously he came in on on less than a weeks notice we looked in great shape he really seemed to be quite close to the total weight limit and so hopefully he's one of those fights is always in the gym but let's see how it goes as the fight goes on well he was preparing for a fight on this undercard as he takes a swift right cross from Smith and it was scheduled to face to meet you cheating off you took a right uppercut but came back with a right cross and when you consider that Kalin Smith has scored 17 for 17 knockouts ten of them in the first round in his 23 victories well you have to say that there's nothing wrong with the punch resistance of Nicky Holcomb because these punches that Colin Smith is landing with have put plenty of men out of there inside the distance ten of them haven't made it beyond the opening round precise punch power remember when Callister first time try we went on some ads one round knockout squared mocking our people good soft journeymen as well in round one there's a sixth consecutive first-round knockouts between bouts three and eight for Callum Smith establishing a British record in that regard since added four more to his ledger good right hand to the body but he is a serious puncher such terrific length and leverage augmenting that superb punch technique honed at the rotunda gym up in Liverpool and of course that the English Institute of Sport with a two-room to of you remembers of the GB boxing program for so long yeah I don't think it's necessarily like pure power has to be the sounds I think he is technique and timing and the placement of the punch that even though you get out while Hoskins still in there competing at the end of that round in the fight but I don't think he's in any danger of winning the fight but he's acquitting himself well considering the circumstance into with which he's come into this bow yeah well we know he was a [ __ ] homey he's he's kind of following smooth around the ring Rockford cutting them off was good I landed then it shows like he's boxing in a bit like lack of luck of bottom now see feet he's following smooth round the ring well been cutting the ring down he was taking an awful lot of jabs from the long left hand of Callum Smith he keeps on chugging forwards Smith's which he was attacked well to the body before coming back upstairs and a pinpoint right cross look at that for accuracy on that four-punch combination he's go ahead no log or through rocks and the very tough boy he's got a strange don't want no great deals Gator about that that's what's within the rounds trying to bring that left uppercut into play with Smith what holes couldn't responded with a right uppercut of his own goodness these shorter boxers Smith up on his toes just increasing the distance keen to get back to the corner to get that nose tended to one two space now it's me controlling the distance with a lovely left from Joe Gallagher saying that you have won the first four rounds member WBC in many of their contests the scores revealed to the public after rounds four and eight scores not revealed publicly here tonight within the rules meeting yesterday where I was in attendance it was established that the corners would be given the scores the official scores after rounds four and eight to know where their disrupting rhythm they can also discourage an opponent's posture not showing any signs of discouragement at this point but that can have that effect as the contest goes on he's so down that is round
