Mario Party mixed with Cube? Never thought they would parody that movie. But overall, a really fun episode with great gags and good chemistry between Mario and SMG4.

I did NOT expect such a simplistic episode after the past weeks, but this was pretty welcome.

The episode was actually pretty well executed. I recognized the Mario Party games pretty fast, but I assumed that somebody was tormenting them for kicks, which ended up making the ending pretty funny overall.

Mario and SMG4's dynamic was pretty good here as well. They actually felt like friends here. The jokes overall landed pretty consistently.

Solid episode. It's basically a milder version of Stupid Mario Party.

This one is really good for one reason: Mario. Mario is PEAK (considering what 2021-23 has done to him) here. He's so nonchalant for the most part, and it sells his jokes perfectly. His crazy ideas, like the carrier pigeon and hiding in the corner combined with his very calm attitude make it hilarious. It's so refreshing to see Mario not be treated like the little shit who fucks everything up. It's as if he's not that stupid, but rather has very suspect ways of solving problems.

SMG4, while being mid with his individual humor because of his overexaggerations to everything, counters Mario and elevates them both well. Seeing his model get stretched still looks uncanny compared to Mario, and it sucks that's the case. Make 4 a bit more calm, and this would be really fucking good.

Now for the one big gripe I have today: Miyamoto. Isn't this exactly what Lawsuit was to stop? Wasn't the whole point that Mario was allowed to be himself and not be tied to Nintendo so much? This really shows that Meggy fucked everything up and that arc was just for the redesigns. Also, didn't Mario complain how he's always been forced to work since he was a child last video? Do they not care for consistency? Wouldn't Mario be pissed off? If Meggy hadn't intervened, then Mario could just finish the filming of the new Mario game, then go back home. Problem solved. Meggy literally caused everything in Lawsuit, including Lawyer Kong wanting to DMCA everyone. It's her fault 100%, and she doesn't get any blame.

Last thing I wanna mention: the use of SM64 is amazing. It is way better than Gmod. It gives Mario so much more life despite is calm nature today. Meanwhile, SMG4 in Gmod looks uncanny, and his animation makes it feel too high quality. Art doesn't thrive through freedom, it thrives through limitation. SM64 has way less to work with and looks straight up more appealing than Gmod. SMG4 isn't a high quality show like Murder Drones. It is a low budget show that thrives despite its limitations and great characters. That's what makes Mario great today and SMG4 mid.

I give it an 8/10. It's just brought back by the worst character in the entire series. If they keep Mario like this, sign me up. Of course, that won't happen. Next week, he'll be back to his manchild ways. Cherish this one, people.

• Mario and Four together. Haven't seen that iconic duo for a while.
• Getting trapped in a minigame cube is an alright idea.
• no meggy here, which means the bearability of this sub will increase by 0.69%

Bad:

• Filler video, once again. Are they gonna force the completion of the castle in the next Meme Games or WOTFI?

A refreshing episode! Nothing spectacular, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. 7.5/10
