hey guys welcome back to everything film equipment my name is brandon my name is cal and today we're gonna do a comparison video between the small rig and the aputure mini rgb led lights [Music] so i'm going to talk about the aputure mc rgb so what it comes with is a carrying case a usb c to a cable the light a light diffuser two double-sided tape and the user manual i'm gonna be talking about the new small rig pix m160 it comes with the light a honeycomb grid a light diffuser a ball head usb type-c charging cable portable bag and a manual so the aperture light comes in at 90 us dollars the aputure light features a 2600 milliamp battery it outputs 5 watts using 48 leds and it operates with the side link app which allows you to do many different features the small rig costs 99 us dollars it features a 3800 milliamp battery outputs 12 watts of light on 160 leds and has a usb-a output for charging your phone and other devices for the brightness of the aperture light they rate it at 400 lux at 0.5 meters but for our test it was 500 lux and small rig rates their light at 1350 lux at 0.5 meters but in our testing it was closer to 1100 for a battery test the aperture light lasted approximately an hour and 45 at 100 the small rig lasted approximately an hour and 20 minutes at 100 brightness as for charging both lights can be charged with a usbc cable the aputure light however can be charged wirelessly as well both lights do have quarter inch mounting points on the bottom but the small rig does have an extra one on the side both lights also have magnetic mounts on the back unfortunately we found in our testing that in some cases the small rig magnets weren't strong enough to hold the weight of the light on some surfaces both lights have a soft fall off and are dimmable between zero and 100 the aperture light has a cri rating of 96 plus and a color temperature between 3200 kelvin and 6500 kelvin the small rig has a cri rating of 95 plus and a color temperature of 2500 kelvin to 8 500 kelvin the aperture light has a dimmer dial with a built-in button a power switch and an oled display the small rig has two dials on the side one dimmer and one function and the function has a built-in button it also has a set button on the side that controls different modes an on off switch on the top and a small oled screen on the back the aperture light also has an app which unlocks a bunch of extra features so this aperture light at 100 you can kind of see that we can use it as a key light here but if we use the small rig light even at 50 percent it overpowers this light by quite a bit so we can also bring this back and use this as a hair light like this we can also use it as a background light where you can kind of see as it's closer to the background it's a bit more spotty or we can pull it away a bit and do it just like that you can also use the effects too it's cool especially with a nice bright white background like this this is only at 50 percent also what's the effects on the aperture light if you connect it to the app um you also have access to a ton more effects within each effect given what your needs are both these lights are fantastic if you need something a little bit bigger with a more output the small rig's perfect if you want something with an app that can control multiple lights the aperture's a great choice both lights are priced about the same and they're both very robust we've used both of these quite extensively filming in movies and interviews and stuff like that they've been dropped and kicked around and they're both really robust bright lights that i'd recommend it just depends on what you need them for if you want to check out more information on these products check our affiliate links down below you guys have any questions about this product or any ideas for any future videos leave a comment below don't forget to hit the like button and subscribe for any future content
