Slinky gets a Godzilla GARDEN!

[Music] yo I am really excited because today Tom  and Caesar here from Holt nurseries you remember   Tom he's got that amazing Place well we're going  to transform the front of slinky's house and we're   going to make this place a little bit more  exciting for when I do tours here uh I want   people to be wow and you're the guy that's going  to help me do what do we got in here this is going   to be awesome we went a little we went shopping  look at that oh my gosh that's so cool all these   beautiful plants uh nice and tropical foliage  man all right well we'll get to work [Music] woo okay everything's unloaded we've got quite  a uh a a variety here you've picked for me so   what what do we got and what do you think is the  first steps when kind of creating something to   look at here I would take a look at all this  plant material and I would decide what looks   good together so we're things look good in clumps  so I'm thinking three to five clumps of plants so   look like I like for me I look and I see this  red on this Cordy line plays really good with   this shrimp plant okay I love the way these copper  leaves all kind of go together I I like that a lot   you know oh also we have um you know we have two  red flowering plants and then we had the red leaf   on the banana oh I love these we have this red  leaf banana yeah these are beautiful right so we   got red on the flow we got red on the flower we  got red on the banana and then purple goes with   this look the these three all go together okay  can you even got purple on the Banana Leaf oh very   good all right cool I'm kind of color blind so I'm  glad you're here now you were also talking about   let's let's stand back and kind of look uh cuz as  as you know I walk out to this area obviously this   whole place you know we're I'm going to be doing  a lot because we're gonna be working together uh   throughout the year you know we're gonna be doing  a lot of fun stuff so I want you guys to make sure   you go check him out on YouTube uh help support  him because he's really helping support the camp   here with his knowledge and some of the beautiful  plants that he grows so looking at this you know   one of the things you had mentioned last time you  were here Tom is you want to break up the hard   edges the the kind of man-made looking edges that  I have on my on my uh enclosure so one of the ways   to do that would be to kind of plant some of this  material um on the edges on on kind of the corners   right yes yes so I look at I mean I think you come  down here the first thing you do you see slinky's   cage and it's a it's a lot of wood a lot of right  angles so you could almost take take all of this   okay and then peppered from where Caesar is over  there hi Caesar so give W if there's Caesar over   there maybe all the way you know around the corner  here and I I love the universal Rock so I I want   to you know hide that as little as possible  because we could even do work with that in   the future cool very good all right well let's  get to it show me the process one other thing   here what's that the alasas like a little bit of  shade okay all right so I'm thinking in the corner   over there right I was thinking and and again  everything here so it's very amazing so I grew   this from little um $10 plants okay so I I hate  to see a plant suffer but if it we had a problem   we could always move it in the future or we you  know but um but put it where we a little bit put   it where we got that oak tree that oak tree is  doing a pretty good job so we'll shade it there   and then hopefully the bananas will grow um and  maybe you could plant some of these bananas and   they'll they get kind of a canopy so we can kind  of hide them here so do we have now we brought you   three sprinklers do we have to be concerned do we  have to be concerned with um the animals no not at   all these guys get rained on they can take it um  we'll tap into my existing irrigation so that'll   be pretty cool uh not a problem there all right  okay his brain's moving I could see Tom's brain   moving a million miles a a second so this is how  you first do it you like to lay the plants out   first before you actually do it let's walk talk  now this is the first thing my eyes went to you   you agree K yes absolutely and and in fact you  know I kind of envisioned I mean this from this   cage to here could be a clumping okay this could  I could kind of form this out perhaps and this   could become a clumping uh area so we can get rid  of this hard Edge and then we can kind of mask a   little bit of that hard Edge um and I can still  get in here cuz I've got an electrical box so I   don't know I mean I don't want to I I agree with  that I agree with that okay okay Cesar you want   to help me with the banana here and we luckily we  do have the Kabota so if anything's too heavy guys   look at this I love uh the banana plants man  it's just it's a a nice it's a nice way to get   that tropical Costa Rica feel um will these do  these produce bananas or these yes so this one   okay so all bananas produce bananas oh they  do just that some are edible and some are not   they're all edible okay just that some have  seeds more seeds than others interesting so   so this is dwarf cavish it's it's a commercial  banana okay and and so I I don't know if it's   seedless or not but it may be seedless where  these are considered ornamental bananas okay   but it does produce bananas okay interesting  and you can eat them you just maybe get a mouth   full of seeds oh interesting yeah I'm sure the  squirrels will love it so how tall will these   get those get 10 ft 12 ft which is good so cover  the edge of the cage but won't take over yeah no   that's I'm excited about that okay cool this is  fun man I get I I just love seeing people that   have the eye for this stuff you know so this  is the cter line is it Cordy line or cordine   it doesn't matter oh my goodness you're asking  the wrong okay never mind don't worry beautiful   I AP no you always hear everyone says they had a  learning you know but I I anyone who watches any   of my videos I apologize if I Mis pronounce  something yeah I do that with my Latin names   all the time no worries and and there'll be room  for the banana to reproduce right what's that the   banana is going to reproduce clumps yes so so  I I like to plant a little bit for the instant   you know okay a little bit you know I know you  got to allow things to grow but I don't want I   want it to look great when we go home today okay  fair enough so here let's get a couple of these   Cesar let's try let's try let's try three I always  like everything in threes I got one you get two this is going to be fun because Kate's always  been bugging me uh I always plant things and   they're always green I have no real variety  and so it's awesome that Tom's here because   he's really good with the colors and uh  the variety is what's really going to be key of course we have our friendly neighborhood   dogs that do nothing but bark  at me all day when I'm in my backyard anyway that big brain's working that big  brain working you want to try a couple of these Cesar now the beauty of this kenon is we can  always move it if we don't like it yeah this   is the preliminary phase man I always feel the  pressure is on no come on Tom this is the fun   stuff man I get to watch you work and believe  me anything you do here today I'm going to be   extremely grateful and happy about so don't worry  it's everyone else in the comments that are going   to be uh the ones that are going to let you  know how you did but luckily for us we have   really cool group of people that watch our  Channel and uh I mean I'm sure they're going   to appreciate the fact that you're doing such  a nice thing for me here at the camp meanwhile   let's go let's go have a look at our buddy uh he  wants to see what's going on out here of course   we're doing this to kind of do you think make  this look beautiful for slinks I don't think   Caesar knows what we're working with over here  Caesar got nervous cuz I rescued a rattlesnake   before Slinky come here he is so happy right  now he's just kind of lounging in the Sun come   on Slinky come say hello to Caesar Caesar come  here man let's see what Caesar thinks of Slinky   this is my My Big Buddy Slinky what do you think  Caesar it's beautiful he's beautiful right yeah   where are you from Mexico Mexico okay no lizards  this big in Mexico but they have some cool lizards   in Mexico for sure yeah but this is Slinky my  Asian water monitor and that's what we're doing   we're trying to make this place more beautiful  so people when they come say hello to Slinky they   feel like they're in a nice beautiful a garden  like you've built I I mean my jaw dropped when I   saw your place it's just outstanding yeah so that  Slinky a little nervous right cuz he's not really   nervous he just knows he he's kind of wondering  what's going on am I going to get fed or is this   show and tell and so he knows the difference  he knows I don't have food he knows when I'm   coming just to kind of hang out with him but I  love this lizard man he is my absolute favorite   and I know you love monitor lizard so I invited  a buddy over here oh no looking forward to that   yeah yeah so Jerry's cominging over uh with  Kaden and Kagan and uh it should be really   cool to uh see what they think of what we're up  to all right let's get back to it see you slinks [Music]   all right we have some more friends showed up  Jerry and Kagan are here uh Kagan happens to like   botanics as well but uh we've got them grouped up  I like this let's go back over here real quick um   you know we've got some nice groupings which this  is kind of cool Tom I I like that this I could   create a path and I'm going to create a border  when you guys leave it gives me things to do uh I   can kind and make an edge and make a border around  these little kind of groupings of the plants which   I like now you just uh Kagan had a good term Kagan  spill it what was that term show everyone what's   going on over here K so Thriller filler Spiller  is what you call to create that awesome flow of   plants there you go you like that term didn't you  you did it naturally buddy no I heard it before   I knew I fact I like that dude something I would  do I I would like to see here let's plant this a   little tighter get definition between our three  clumping here do you agree yep look at this and   this will this copper leaf here this scallop  copper leaf will get larger that's fine I like   that I want everything to grow um you know I I  don't mind because it'll look when you when you're   stepping back you see the green of that that uh  filad dendrin type plant there it'll blend I like   the blending I want everything to kind of uh you  know look like it's all one jungle if that makes   sense yeah now all right banana and the Cordy  lines are a little bit harder to trim okay but   but a lot of these these these filler plants you  know they're very acable to to trimming anding no   worries uh what is this firecracker Bush fire  firecracker bush Okay that's awesome and then   you were talking to me about these bananas here  the red banana yeah so this these up in Longwood   Gardens may be the most beautiful plant in all  of Longwood Gardens okay but they don't like our   humidity as much I've seen him awesome down here  okay but I've seen him also just so so down here   oh well cuz I happen to love that guy I hope he  don't go nowhere we're going to do the best okay   all right well half the year is pretty dry so  we're coming into our wet season so hopefully   these guys make it because I I'm I just love the  bananas I it's like being in Costa Rica I really   just I love that place so anything that reminds me  of Costa Rica is good what else we got we got more   here we got the more now something cool here is  everything here is foliage we got a lot of color   here but we're not using any um flowers okay we  got we got a red leaf banana we this is called a   black varnish plant where that's that's pretty  close to Black yeah that's awesome and then we   got some copper leaf we got a yellow copper leaf  and we got a a pink copper leaf okay uh and then   the alas now I love the alas that's Jurassic  Park man no I I I like I said I felt like it   was chopped kitchen a little bit where I just I  worked last night we got off work at 5:00 p.m.   we just threw everything in the truck and came  down here I love it Okay so we've made it this   way and then look we even have some more copper  leaves and scallop plants here which you know   is nice because we're now bleeding into this and  eventually we are going to work our way backwards   uh we definitely are going to Li you know get  some plants low plants for cayman Creek um again   my goal is to create a jungle back here I just  want a beautiful garden uh so that I never have   to leave my backyard that's pretty much the the  thing I got lizards and plants where else would   I go I'll probably go on a bike ride you know but  that's about it uh awesome stuff all right cool   so now um we're just going to dial it in and then  we're going to start planting yes scraped the soil  I've loosened the soil you've been planting uh   then we're going to continue around this is so  cool we've got a few more plants to get in there   I'll rake got any of the big stuff we could throw  some mulch in and then uh I'll probably get to the   dialing it uh in myself here um cuz these guys are  just helping me with the plants uh the arrangement   of the plants and then they're going to tell me  how to care for the plant so this is just amazing   man thanks buddy oh you're welcome I better  get back to work I'll talk to you guys in a bit [Music] oh man you guys move quick holy smokes and it  happens to be 94 degrees today so it's a warm   day but these guys killed it so here we are  and um I'm pretty excited we've got some nice   groupings here I'm going to be able to make  Pathways Tom this is awesome come on over   here we got some beautiful red banana to frame  slinky's entrance again eventually there's going   to be a pathway I love aliccia um we're just  watering them now and guys I'm going to spend   the rest of this video just dialing things in and  kind of putting some rock clusters and things to   kind of frame it which I think will look nice  but Tom man oh so much man this is so amazing   that he did this for me and Caesar thank you so  much these guys killed it you know luckily we   had that cabota from my buddy Ruben um this is  amazing man I love it and just if you guys step   back let's have a look we're not even 100% done  just think of 5 years when everything's taken   those banana plants they get taller it's  going to look gorgeous you know five years   September September yeah down here in Florida  you're right go through one rainy season and   the nice Heat and the rain is going to really  make everything grow up and I just can't wait   we're going to just continue to work our our way  throughout the whole property and turn it into   uh Camp Cannon Reptile Gardens man Tom thank  you so much you're very welcome got some rocks lining things   I used up some railroad ties that I had  laying around I've got uh pretty much   what I'm going to call the Godzilla Gardens  cuz I'm going to put Godzilla in here so uh   we're going to have the Godzilla  Gardens at slinky's front step and   um yeah so we got the uh rocks going here um I am  going to mulch but I was looking at these spaces   here and I think I'm going to go to the nursery  get a couple more plants cuz I think it'll look   cool maybe uh you know a traveler's Palm here  some birds of paradise then I can sprinkle in   some of these plants which I forgot the names of  already uh someone in the comments will remind me   below but um yeah then we'll mulch um I'm going  to dig another hole for a plant on on this side   as well right in here we're going to line it we're  going to have rocks kind of come up through here   and through here and around uh but right there  maybe a bird of paradise nice little plant some   flowering plants here uh and it'll really dress  up this whole area so these plants are going to   grow get really big I mean by September after  the rainy season starts things should look just   magnificent here so I'm pretty excited um so okay  I'm going to go check out the nursery get a few   plants pick up Leo uh and then I'll get back  to work I'm going to work till dark tonight uh   see what I can get there it is   the Godzilla Gardens at Camp Kennon like I said  we got sprinkler going it's been going for about   an hour and I'm really happy with the way this  turned out I busted my hump today I love that   machine uh it's awesome I want to uh take you  around we put all these rocks down we're going   to use all these materials that I just have kind  of stationed over here I want to get rid of all   this because I want to plant there as well and I  want to make that look like a jungle that you're   looking off into a jungle we're going to put  some big fishtail Palms we're going to put the   African sausage plant we're going to really  transform this area of the camp I use some   of these landscape timbers um actually these are  railroad ties that I had laying around out back   um we went and bought a orange and white bird of  paradise we got a fishtail Palm here that'll get   big uh which is fine it won't obscure any of the  sun um which I'm happy about we got a traveler's   Palm I went and bought we got a nice traveler's  Palm right here that's going to get really big uh   that's the same type of plant they even get bigger  than that and so that'll be really really cool cuz   that's just going to just oh my gosh it's going  to be amazing and those Al those alloces here   these actually get whoa hello hello water these  actually get really big as well um they get over   uh head height so I'm pretty psyched um this is  just the beginning of the transformation of the   garden let's go get Godzilla out of here this is  the oh gosh we got we got water coming hold on   hold on Godzilla what else we got we got a real  life Godzilla too slinky what you doing but I'm   about to get slink I got to go cuz I'm about to  get wet buddy I'm about to get W woohoo transforming   the back there's going to be Pathways this is just  the beginning of what I want to do to this place I   want to really turn this into something special so  um I just want to say thank
