It's starting to appear that except Benjamin and some Andorno, a lot of the Frankfurt School stuff hasn't survived the years. It seems that 20th c. German thought* (and what we know about the 21th century) is mostly technical gymnastics and pseudo-Marxist development.
Influential as it is, retrospectively, it seems like theoretical rhetorics, like most postwar political interventions.
*The exception is of course Heidegger, who was not part of that school though Marcuse was his student.
