[Music] [Music] what's up guys jb here for a special edition of skatepark lessons here in barcelona spain to teach you how to do the five easiest tricks any beginner first timer can learn in an hour so check it out all right guys first thing we're going to do is i'm going to teach you how to pop your skateboard up into your hand so you don't look like a rookie at the skate park and the goal for you is going to be to try to use your feet to manipulate your skateboard as much as you can while you're skating you can use your left foot or your right foot to do this i'm going to start with my right foot which is my front foot i'm goofy i put the tip of my toes and i'm going to push straight down just gently push straight down and let the board pop up into your front hand for me it's my right foot and my right hand if you put a little too much foot on your boy is not going to pop up as easy so just use the tip of your shoe and push straight down with a gentle push when you're popping your board up into your hand try different amounts of pressure in order to get your board to pop up the way you want if you pop it a little bit harder it'll come up a little faster you can even start to pop it up right off the ground and into your hand just like that [Music] check it out the next trick is going to be the throw down and this is going to get you to be able to gain speed in a small amount of space [Music] what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna run into my throwdown i'm gonna let my board drop with my lead hand which is my right hand and as i start to drop it i pull my front foot up just behind the front bolts and then push down stomping down with my right foot so that my skateboard hits the ground and i have weight on it and then i can lean in and push off with my left foot into a roll and then continue pushing [Music] next up we're going to do the scoop the scoop is important for future tricks such as your pop shuvits so what you're going to do is take your back foot or your front foot and you're going to put it in the corner pocket of the concave and your concave is on the side of your board right here in this little sweet spot so in that corner pocket i push down and i'm gonna pull in so i put my back foot in that corner and i'm gonna pop it around and that makes it do a quick little 180. as you keep doing this this will be your beginning fundamentals leading into flip tricks especially pop shovets all right guys the next trick is going to be your hop flip so i just slide my foot underneath just my toes and i pull my knee straight up and my board flips over right onto the wheels and then i stomp my foot down onto the grip tape and that's gonna keep pressure on your board it's super important for you guys to try to only use your feet as much as possible because it's really going to build that eye to foot connection [Music] all right guys next trick we're gonna do is what i call up and downs now up and downs are extremely important fundamental before you learn how to drop in put your back foot on the tail nice solid stance front foot up just behind the front bolts heels and toes matching see same distance of toes hanging over the edge as my heels hanging over the edge then i'm going to lean my head forward over my front foot first start to lean lean lean and then stomp down keeping my knees bent and power and strength in my legs so that i can keep my balance i keep my ankles tight so that i don't wobble back and forth and then when i go to do my up i put my head over my back foot start to lean over my back foot and then push down with some power and you want to try to do this as fast as possible the faster you get your wheels down and up the sooner it's over and the safer you're going to be thanks for watching this special edition of skatepark lessons with me jb here in beautiful barcelona spain i hope these videos make you feel more comfortable in your skateboard hit the like button for me subscribe to my videos and follow me on the next adventure
