Simplest way to properly Prime a Grease Gun

hey folks Mars man here so today we're talking about a grease gun here there are a ton of discrepancies on how to use it a lot of Tech's have no idea what they're doing why it won't pump grease out and how we how we go about properly lubricated bearings okay as you can see this is your average typical grease gun that you're gonna be using throughout probably the rest of your career simple easy one-hand action here we've got a little cover cap that we got to take off of course but most importantly you have this little plunger this plunger is spring-assisted if you pull back on it real hard you'll see there's another little groove here in the back pull back on it hard and get it to latch on that second hole there it's just a tad bit smaller than the one that it actually belongs in and it creates a resting point for that plunger go ahead and unscrew this guy and there's your grease right I typically use something no whatever you got pliers anything that's gonna allow you to grip this thing here and just pull it straight out all right pull it out straighten this trash good to go if you look down inside the barrel I'm going to unlatch it here you'll see that plunger and it is spring assistance so you can probably hear it okay so spring assisted so let's pull back on that to our locking point again right new grease brand new you got metal end on one plastic on the other you open it up there's your grease metal end go ahead and pop this bad boy in there with a metal end up so this is what you're looking at plungers out grease is inside the and up you're gonna go ahead and pop that tab off peel it back gonna have some excess grease there if you want go ahead and just wipe it smear it across the top place it into the plastic and there you go so now we are loaded and we are ready for the top go ahead and screw the top back on and what you want to do is screw it although I am this is the simplest way to do this guys all the way in just to the point where you feel it's gonna start getting tension go ahead and turn it out maybe two-three rotations now take your plunger and slowly start jamming that in there okay shouldn't be difficult go about I don't know three quarters of the way or so pull your cap off and give it a couple pumps we got to get whatever residual air in this thing out right but as you're pushing this plunger you should be alleviating the air that's trapped in between the grease and the cap so give that a nice tighten a couple of palms remember we got to get that air out of there but it shouldn't take much just a couple of pumps and then you'll see that grease is ready to go ready I mean it's really that simple so just to review pull back on the plunger to the locking point once you hit that point unscrew the top remove your old canister put your new canister in metal side up remove the cap put it in there thread this all the way down just to the point where it starts locking on yeah back it off a couple times two three rotations it's about it put your plunger in about halfway three-quarters it away give it a couple pumps go ahead and push your plunger all the way in tighten down the top and you're good to go it's really that simple our this is Mars man on a grease tip for you on how to properly grease how to properly prime and get your grease gun going so have fun and stay safe
