I love the subtlety of how we see sticks in his inventory at the start, later he picks up some redstone dust from the chest, and at the end we see him with a redstone torch.
The implied lore of the silverfish having invaded the city, turned everything and everyone to stone, and then gone to sleep inside that stone is also great. It makes silverfish feel so much more frightening.
