Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
He's a wild and crazy guy.
That's pretty intense. I dove with a guy a few months ago who couldn't quite reach all the way in the wreck to the shovelhead he wanted, so the crazy bastard takes his tank completely off, takes a big lungful of air, swims into the wreck for what seemed like 60 seconds or so, comes back out with the bug, and shakes his head when offered his regulator...he wanted the bag, to make sure dinner didn't get away! After bagging it, he put the BC back on and THEN got his air back. Dude is in his mid 60s, has something like a year and a half of bottom time from working commercial/military diving for 4+ decades.
For anyone with sidemount or no-mount experience, why doesn't he leash the cylinders so he doesn't have to hold onto them and/or drag them? I mean, we do it regularly with stage/deco bottles in order to get them out of the way yet not have to worry about losing them.
I'm just amazed at the neutral buoyancy control. I've only been certified since 2012 and that's still hard for me to maintain. I'm nowhere near ready for training for wreck penetration. I'm sticking to 40 feet so my tank lasts longer than 15 minutes.
Anybody catch what BCD he has on, i really like the trim on it, been looking for a really simple sidemount BCD like that
Seems like a great way of ripping holes in your fullbody wetsuit.
I didn't know that Steve Martin was into diving.
I'm always interested in new penetration techniques. ;)
