Show Connected List Data in the List Item Display Form

hi I'm Derek almstrom I'll count from dot-com business solutions in this demonstration I will improve the display form of this list as you see when I open up the Argentina page here it's really boring so what I want to do is make sure that when you click a country you get the customers for that country that would make it much much more useful of course I'm also going to change the default setting here under advanced so that it shows up in a forms instead of in a new window or a dialog that's how they call it ok so if I click there you see now I get a dialog instead of opening a new window I think that's much cooler so what I want to do is modify that form when I go into the default display form then I'm gonna add a webpart I'm gonna have the customers web part and as you see that gets added to the top I don't want that so I'm gonna minimize it and move it to the bottom that should work better there we go and then I want to restore it again stop editing there that stop edit there actually saves your progress so that if you fail on the next step you don't have to redo that much work so now I'm going to connect these webparts I'll do that by going into edit mode on the page and then edit the web part and they see connection and I'm going to provide the road to the customers I'm gonna get to filter values from and I can figure that and I'm gonna connect the country field which is the renamed the title field of the countries list I'm going to connect that to the drop-down lookup call it call the country I created earlier alright so now I just stopped editing again there's no save there now if I open Brazil you see I get the Brazilian customers there that looks about right if I click on the Swedish ones that I recognized before yeah the Swedish customers are there excellent so that shows you how to modify the display form and add a web part to that and also how to use connected web parts thank you for watching this demonstration
