thank you ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to my YouTube channel normally I'm making videos about my type R but we bought a 2023 limited hybrid Tucson about a week ago only have about 250 miles on it so far and wanted to make a quick review video about why I decided to get the Tucson instead of like a CRV or RAV4 in case you're in the same boat as me and you're currently looking up all kinds of reviews trying to make the right decision on what car to get so some of the things that I filtered my buying decision through were storage space styling definitely the engine and then the interior I wasn't even expecting to get a Tucson I was thinking we would get a CRV but then I decided to test drive one of these and turns out that there's actually a lot of things about this car that I think makes it better than all of its competitors so what are those things let's talk about that as far as the competitors I think the RAV4 looks I think it looks cool it's just where I live like so many people have a RAV4 which just makes me not want to get one I like to be able to stand out have something more unique um a CRV looks way better than it used to it looks clean and Sleek I like it but something about the Tucson it's really starting to grow on me and I think the design and styling is just a little more interesting and exciting I guess I think the tail lights look really cool I love all the sharp edges along the side of the car this one came with roof racks which I think also make the car look good especially in white with the blackout top there and then I love The Grille on all the new Hyundais I think this like dark silver whatever it is looks really good all right let's talk about the engine and all of the hybridness going on here really quick just compare the different numbers between the different combat SUVs the CRV has a two point liter four-cylinder all-wheel drive CVT transmission with 204 combined horsepower whereas the RAV4 has 2.5 liter four-cylinder all-wheel drive CVT as well but it has 219 horsepower combined now the Tucson has a 1.6 turbocharged traditional six-speed automatic transmission which I like that better I like that it is not a CVT and you can go online and look at the differences between the two and uh see what the trade-off is but for me I like that about the Tucson and the all-wheel drive system is uh mechanical somewhere hopefully you can see it should be a big black shaft right there so maybe that's not really that big of a deal to you but the other vehicles they use the electric motors to power the rear wheels but this one has an actual mechanical shaft drive ladies and gentlemen I present an awesome interior all right this is where this car really wins I think first off it looks awesome I like how everything is just really integrated I love how the screen is in the dash and not stuck up on here in some way like a Kindle or an iPad I I hate that most cars come like that now even like sports cars performance cars I feel like whenever I look at those cars I feel like it's a manufacturers made the car and then they ordered iPads or Kindles and just mounted them on there for you and they're just sticking up it just looks weird and it doesn't feel cohesive or integrated so I love that it's in the dash this screen is awesome it never has any glare the graphics are really cool um when you turn on the turn signals you get the camera on the left and right sides uh the other thing is it has ventilated seats as you can see all these little holes here some nice cool air will just start blowing through here which is super nice it just really gets rid of the downsides of having leather seats you don't get hot in them you don't sweat in them they're also heated so yes they keep you nice and warm it also has a heated steering wheel which you do not get on many of the other cars you also don't get the ventilated seats on the CRV another big thing is the cameras on this thing are significantly better than the CRV I love the aerial view and it's just way more crisp and clear uh than some of the other competitors out there to this thing so it also has front facing uh cameras as well so if you go into drive we are now looking out the front of the vehicle you can see all around the bumper which is really nice okay this area is awesome now this little fake carbon fiber thing was like 30 bucks on Amazon I mostly got it because there is a lot of gloss black in this car so it can get dirty over time so I got that just to kind of help it stay protected from scratches and actually looks really good but what I love about this is there's no gear now I'm a car Enthusiast and I love Driving Manual cars so it's weird for me to say that but in a family car this has like a luxury vibe to it and man it really clears up this area without having a gear shifter here and with how high-tech cars are nowadays you really don't even need a gear shift so it kind of makes sense just to have these buttons because you have the electric assist not just on my side which you usually only get it on the passenger side but also on this side so that's another great thing that Tucson gives you you do have wireless charging there's no Wireless Apple carplay which is a bummer but you can buy a little adapter on Amazon for like 50 bucks and then you'll have wireless car place so not too big of a deal okay the only downside about this Dash is you've probably heard a lot of people talk about it and complain about it but there are no actual buttons here it's just one like screen so I've gotten used to it it's a little busy a lot of stuff going on down here but once you get used to it uh I actually really like it um I do not like the volume uh here you don't have buttons but don't worry about that you do have actual physical clicker buttons over here to control the volume up down press it into mute so I never use these and the only downside about not having physical buttons is if you're watching the road and you're not really looking at what you're reaching for you kind of Judge Things based off how it feels but everything just as flat here so there's no like reference point of where you're pressing uh that's the only thing you can kind of hit or miss the button sometimes but hey if you want to change the volume have your passenger do it since they don't need to wash the road if you want to change the volume just use this awesome little clicker here not a big deal I think it actually looks good everything in one spot on a nice flat screen here but yes a little bit of a learning curve to get used to all of it another thing that you definitely don't get on the other cars is an awesome giant panoramic sunroof okay I'm happy to report that you can fit two car seats in here comfortably and technically the Tucson has more space then the CRV and the RAV4 not a ton more but technically it does and if you're on a road trip with two car seats and a bunch of luggage and whatnot a little bit of more space goes a long ways let's put the seats down so I can show you what it looks like where's the button at all right check it out so this platform can be raised up and sit on these rails so it sits a little bit higher then you have more storage space under there but I have it lowered so that I have the maximum amount of space on top little tiny compartments there I like that to get the seats down you literally just pull this and it goes down you don't have to go up there and do anything well you kind of do because they don't go all the way down but and they lock so once all of that is down you have a lot of space in here for a compact SUV and then I'm gonna get a cargo holder thingy to put up here which will provide a lot more space and then you can put a tow hitch on here and put even more things to carry more things such as bikes and whatnot so yes if you have two kids you can make it work with this car and you don't need to buy a minivan just yet although minivans are actually pretty cool nowadays [Music] another cool thing to point out is you can actually recline the rear seats so as you can see that one is back this one is up but look how far back you can go and then when you pull down the cup holder um it's actually very comfortable back here and as far as how much space do you have when you have a car seat in here so there's the car seat got a couple inches between you but I am about six foot one and I have plenty of space with the way this seat is currently set so there's still about an inch or so between your seat and the baby's seat and I could even go back a little more to where I could recline some more or I can go up a little more that way I can recline back and I have decent amount of space not too bad it does not feel cramped I will say that there are a ton of other different features and things that I just haven't gone over on with this car such as like just all the different buttons all the different graphics on the screen there's a Hyundai app I can get on my watch that lets me control the car wherever I am as long as it has GPS signal I think I can literally lock my car or turn it on and off from my watch wherever I am and I can see the status of it the fuel level all of that so there's a lot about this car that I just haven't gone over there's other videos that go more in depth into those things but I just wanted to focus on all of the things that I started noticing along the way about this car that swayed my uh decision while I was shopping around for different cars so hopefully this high level view has been helpful if you're in the market all right the very last thing that this car can do that the others can't obviously you have a remote start with a lot of these new electric hybrid cars but check this out Magic so yes it's the smart Park but pretty cool I've actually used this pretty often um I've I've used this like when this car is parked in front of my type R I've actually moved this car while sitting in my type R so that I can get out of the driveway and then I've backed this thing back up into the driveway all while sitting in a different car which is actually pretty cool um and a fun little trick to show Friends that is pretty much it I will talk a little bit about the driving Dynamics as I end the video here you do have all the sport modes snow Eco Smart and Sport you do have paddle shifters when you put it in sport mode it actually is helpful to be able to control when the transmission shifts you can rev it out a little bit longer if you need to merge onto a highway and stuff like that I like having that it's a little bit more confidence inspiring I guess you could say admit it drives great it's so smooth I'm very used to my type R which is extremely stiff and low to the ground this is nice and smooth over the bumps that is all I have for this video thanks for watching guys and you know people always say like And subscribe and I'll see you in the next video but if you're just looking at Tucson videos and you don't care about the other content about my other car or future cars then thanks for watching and I won't see you ever again but to all 21 subscribers that I have in the next video thanks
