after you but become so grateful for this way that you've prepared for well us i just uh come alongside grant combs pastor grant combs at lighthouse baptist i pray lord that you continue to give him wisdom continue to give him just an encouragement to take the next step to continue on building his congregation encouraging them equipping them for your ministry lord and lord as as they're seeking to find another worship leader but from the bottom of my heart i pray that you would provide that you would make the person clear to them [Music] and you'd make it clear to that person that this is the next step in their ministry to invest in lighthouse baptist lord jesus we thank you for this time we thank you for the opportunity that we have to worship you and we give this to you it's all for you jesus it's in your holy and in your precious name that we pray amen amen hey before you sit down say hello to someone around you give him a wave say good morning when i first became a follower of jesus i started reading the bible i didn't grow up in a christian home so i started reading the bible and here at strolling we talk about seven markers of spirits of maturity biblical engagement passionate prayer consistent community if you don't know all those go on our website we have all kinds of information about it you have actually a survey self-assessment tool you can use to find out how you're doing in those seven areas but there was one of the seven that i just didn't hit my radar that i wasn't interested in that wasn't part of my life and that's the one we call joyful generosity it's actually the one that the bible talks about the most of all the seven markers and i had missed it and so i don't think i was walking the kind of victory that god wanted me to walk in and we're in this series called victorious so i was thinking about this this marker of of joyful generosity this is our time of giving back in just a moment our worship is going to lead in a song and whether you're at home or you're here in the worship center i want to ask you during this time just to think about all the god's given to you think about the privilege it is to give back to him and ask god to grow you in joyful generosity just like you need to grow in biblical engagement a passionate prayer and this was one of the passages that turned me around it was my wife teaching me she grew up in a christian home and learned knew how to be joyfully generous i didn't and this passage was one of the big ones that turned my life around in this area from second corinthians chapter nine remember this whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously just a natural truth from agriculture each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give not reluctantly or under compulsion not because you feel pressured for god loves a cheerful giver joyful generosity god delights in that and god is able to bless you listen to this and god is able to bless you abundantly so that in all things at all times having all that you need you will abound in every good work here's what i've learned as we grow in joyful generosity and whether you give right now when you give on your way out we have baskets by the doors whether you give online i had on the 15th three days ago an email that came and said kevin and sherry here's what you gave this month to shoreline and it gave me the amount it came right out of my account and i just stopped and said thank you lord but right now during the song i'm going to say lord thank you that sherry and i could give that amount every month to be faithful to your calling but here's three victories that i see that happen when we are joyfully generous when we grow in this number one is the victory for us personally because we are saying when we're joyful and generous stuff doesn't own me god does and i can be generous second it's a victory for god because god looks at us as his children and he delights you know when you're if you're raising if you've ever raised kids your kids or grandkids and you say to them they won't share you okay honey share honey you should really share honey share you have to share and then all of a sudden you watch and they actually share on their own and as a parent you go ah they got it they got it there's a victory there i think god watches us and when we're generous when he's been good to us we're generous to others there's a victory there and here's the third victory there's a victory for the world because when you give you fortify the work of the local church and every one of us here has been impacted by this church and other churches that god has used and churches can do what they do because you're generous so as we give back right now experience victory in your life experience victory for the glory of god and experience victory for the world because we're building a church that brings the gospel lord jesus this is our prayer as we give back right now lord some people are going to mail in a gift some people are going to put a gift in the offering plate when they leave today many of us have already set up automatic giving or taking an app right now and praying about what we're going to give lord all victory to you all glory to you use these gifts however they're given to forward the work of the good news of jesus to change our world to bring you glory and to make us more like you jesus we pray this in your name amen think about your giving right now think about god's goodness during this song and let's give to the lord together [Music] i would encourage you to worship along with this song [Music] let's bless the lord together and bless the lord i worship [Music] [Music] [Music] it's a new day [Music] before [Music] my soul [Music] you're preaching your name is [Music] 10 000 reasons for my heart [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] and on that day when my strength is failing the end draws me and my time has come but still my soul will see your praise [Music] ten thousand years [Music] oh [Music] oh amen jesus we bless you this morning [Music] we bless you this morning we'll receive this time we pray that it's honoring to you it's in your holy and precious name [Music] amen [Music] [Music] [Music] i'm a creature of habit and i did this morning what i do every morning when i'm home i woke up early oh dark dirty four-ish something get out of bed walk down the hall and then our cat nutmeg flops on the carpet in front of me saying you're not going another step till you scratch my back and she's an axe to see when i do that then i go the end of the hallway down this a few stairs into the living room and then into the kitchen where i make my wife a pot of coffee but as i go in there invariably it's so quiet i'll say lord thank you thank you for this house thank you for our home and and in the living room we have skylights and so if it's a clear night and you you can see either stars or moon and i look up and say thank you lord i just love looking at the sky in the morning so i get the coffee going then i go through the living room and then back down the stairs we have a tri-level home and it's about eight or nine steps down and i go into what the grandkids call papa's lair and as i go down the stairs it kind of is because on the wall on the right is my six or seven spear guns arranged in order of size on the left are flags that represent fish we catch down in the seo quartz house in mexico i get at the bottom of the stairs there's my tri bike on a home trainer so when i i can ride it home if i can't get out on the road and then i got a desk and a computer and a screen and i'm in heaven then i have my own coffee pot i make my car it's downstairs coffee that's my coffee and i love my home i love it we're eight minutes from the beach seven or eight minutes from the harbor five minutes from church we're right over here we have enough area in the front that our small group can park there as soon as we start gathering in person again we get along with our neighbors eric and robin there's only four on our street eric and robin to the left steve and mary to the right jeff and suzanne at the bottom and lynn in the small cottage behind us we get along with all of them took a lot of diplomacy to work all that out i got to tell you my wife is the main diplomat but we love living there and you know it almost sounds and i love monterey it is our home right an area is part of that idea of a home isn't it and it could sound perfect to you i would think but it's not perfect the home was one of the first homes built in this area and the exterior walls are redwood thin wall construction there's no insulation it's all vaulted ceilings except for the bathrooms so what it means is if it's this temperature outside within an hour or two it's that temperature inside there's no air conditioning and so we have an old-school heater and it works fine but it costs an arm and a leg so in winter when it's cold we we kind of bundle up and put layers on and then when we do run the heater and when we have guests we do i mean it skyrockets pg e there's there's crickets that come into the garage into papa's lair and our cat nutmeg goes and gets them and gives them to heather as a present on the bed sound familiar to some cat owners and then the skylight crazy you can't predict it occasionally and rain will leak this one skylight leaks a little bit and it'll be that it doesn't ever fit though because we can have five days of rain no leak anywhere of two weeks of dry one light rain and it leaks and we just don't know what to do about it so the reality is our home is not perfect it's just not so what is a home a home is that place where you live it's it's a place where you feel at home it's it's congenial it's familiar perhaps your family is there it's your household and it has an air of permanence because you stay there for i don't know months to years most of us don't live in the home we were raised unless you're really young but the reality is we have two homes we have two homes and if you're rich you might have three or four or five but all of us if you if you're a believer you've invited christ into your life you have two homes jesus talks about this in john 14 4. he says do not let your hearts be troubled you believe in god believe also in me my father's house has many rooms if that were not so would i have told you that i'm going there to prepare a place for you and if i go and prepare a place for you i will come back and take you to be with me so that you also will be where i am you know the way to the place where i'm going and he's sharing with the disciples right before he goes to the cross so if you're a believer and what that means is if you recognize a sin in your life and you can't fix that sin and you come into the presence of jesus christ as a savior the only one who can save you from your sin and you invite him to live in your heart you're saved you're saved by the savior it also means you have eternal security that very moment forward it means it means you have one foot in your eternity already it isn't some remote distant concept that you ram into some day when you leave this tent of a body you have a foot in eternity already the moment you receive christ as your savior that eternity is our permanent forever home heaven so what is heaven what is it what is it like and for a lot of us and sometimes i get in this place i can't really relate to heaven i'm so busy going about my day doing my thing i don't know what heaven is but what does the bible say about it bible says a lot i'm going to share a few things with you scripture says that heaven is god's dwelling place and it says that he will be on his throne ruling the universe for eternity in heaven scripture says that you will be with him forever forever and you know the beauty of it is that you already have one foot in that too jesus says i am in you you are in me that's already done we're going to receive new bodies praise the lord i want two new knees i want a left ankle i'd like some hips some of you know what i'm talking about many of you don't disregard we're going to see friends and family that went there first what a beautiful thing that will be this is heaven you know what else is true about heaven bible says there's no more tears what does that mean no more pain you know what else isn't going to be there the two number one mental health disorders in america anxiety and depression won't be in heaven covet won't be in heaven economic downfall won't be in heaven the struggles we live with daily won't be in heaven that's heaven and if you're a believer you're already there in part you're already there all that's left is a transition at some point pastor howie used to call it changing addresses that's all that's left so i got a question for you does knowing we're going to heaven when we leave this earth impact us today if i'm listening to this i'm thinking well i'm glad we have heaven that's nice but what does it mean when i walk out of here today what's that going to be like and i will tell you the answer to that question is absolutely knowing our eternity is secure with the lord definitely impacts our life each day and i have a there's a there's a quote from one of my favorite writers in in the christian christian uh genre c.s lewis and he said in the book merit christianity and i got to say if you haven't read it it's a must read i've never stopped reading it literally but he he says this and there he says aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in aim at earth and you will get neither amid heaven aim in heaven and you'll get earth thrown in aim at earth and you'll get neither paul talks about this in the book of colossians he tells us a little more about what that means he says since then you've been raised with christ meaning the tomb was empty he rose we rise death has been conquered we're already part of that he says since you've been raised with christ set your heart on things above set your heart fix your heart on things above where christ is seated at the right hand of god why is he seated in another gospel to telesty it is finished what does that mean priests never sat down when they did sacrifices in the temple never because their work was never finished why because sin could never be paid for permanently so they just worked and worked and jesus did it one time and it says he sat down why because the work is done we don't work to get to heaven we open our hearts and receive a free gift that was given in love so set your minds and set your hearts on things above and set your mind on things above not on earthly things not here why is that you died scripture says you're a new creation in christ jesus the old life is gone second corinthians 5 17 will tell you that galatians 2 20. read it when you get home you're new for you died in your life is now hidden with christ in god when christ who is your life appears then you will also will appear with him in glory what does that mean aiming at heaven teaches us how to live on earth it teaches us how to live on earth why is that because whatever you think your future is will radically determine your present whatever you think your future is will radically determine your present we're hope-oriented creatures that's how we are and how does it work how does that work whatever you think your futures will radically determine your present i got a story from tim keller author founder of redeemer uh church in new york city he tells this story and i'm going to tell you this story to sort of illustrate the idea of whatever you think your future is will determine your present imagine two people who are given the exact same job and the exact same work conditions person a is in a room over here and in that room is certain kinds of furniture tools atmosphere the color of the walls all of that is exactly the same as person b who's over here in this separate room exact same tools conditions and everything is as person a they're identical they don't work together they're in different rooms and person a and person b is each given the same job screw part one into part two all day long that's what your job is box of parts box of parts they both do the exact same thing everything about them is identical exactly the same but you tell person a their annual salary is one thousand dollars one thousand dollars at the end of the year that's your pay and you tell person b their annual salary is 10 million dollars person a gets a grand person b gets 10 million so now they're on a work break and somehow they encounter each other in the break room for lunch and person a is going to say what maybe any of us would say what a stinky job this sucks same thing all day long i'm bored to tears i could just shoot myself i'm just i hate this right don't you agree person b person b goes you know i actually don't find this job tedious i'm kind of looking forward to the ear how could he say that why would person be say that here's the difference though they are identical in circumstances they are interpreting their their experience in radically different ways because of their expectation and here it is because their hopes are different their hopes are different and so because their expectation of what's going to be the result all this work their expectations are utterly different and because their hopes are different they experience circumstances differently here's what comes next and their beliefs about the future radically and completely determine how they're going to experience the present our hope is not in a thousand or 10 million dollars our hope is found in heaven as a believer our hope is found in heaven why is that well jesus gives us insight into this in matthew chapter 6 the sermon on the mount he's doing this this astounding teaching and here's what he says do not store up for yourselves meaning gather and build treasure on earth where moss and vermin destroy him where thieves break in and steal but store it for yourselves treasures in heaven where moss and berman do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal for where your treasure is there your heart will be also our heart looks to heaven as our home and our hope our heart looks to heaven as our home and our hope that that kind of hope cannot be overemphasized and the definition of hope is critical to how we live today's version of hope often is i'm going to cross my fingers knock on wood you know do a happy dance and just i sure hope it turns out that's not the meaning of the word hope when it was originally written in scripture the greek interpretation of hope was strong expectation the hebrew interpretation of the word hope was a strong rope that's what the authors intended and as we read scripture then that is our hope we have a strong rope we're attached to a strong expectation we're not crossing our fingers about anything it's done if you're a believer you're not hoping you get into heaven you're not earning your way into heaven you've got a foot in it already there that's what the bible teaches us so so there's a definition of hope that i really enjoy an author wrote this and and i'm going to use it this morning hope is made up of two parts according to this definition this guy wrote it's made up of desire and expectation whatever we expect to fulfill our desires is our hope whatever we expect to fulfill our desires is our hope so and we're going to dive a little bit deeper let's dig a little bit deeper hope is what we expect and are sure will satisfy our deepest desires and longings that's the ultimate hope that which will satisfy our deepest desires and longings so if i'm listening to this i gotta i i'm i'm thinking about something i got a question can the things of this world satisfy those deepest desires those deepest longings and we've got to look at this closely christian scholars suggest and i believe it that our desires all of us because we're all imago dei creating the image of god our desires are deeper than we think our longings are deeper than we can know excuse me i missed it but i got to train myself to do it better next time that's why i did a repeat but we're living in this world but if you're a believer you're not of it you're living in it so what do we do we go out in the world and we think the world's got the stuff why because it's stimulating temporarily fills a need we think it's all that what are the things we're looking at we're looking at perfect love we're looking at accumulations we're looking at victories we're looking at honors we're lurking looking at a particular political cause that we think is the answer to everything we're looking at more money do you know a columbia university study every two years asked americans across the country how much more money would you need to just feel like you're okay and you don't have to worry the answer is always 10 they've been doing this for 40 years it's always 10 percent more than i have now that doesn't satisfy anything so we do that but in spite of the fact that greek philosophers began writing centuries ago in their own observations that you know the people who are going after the the things of the world end up not happy it seems to be a futile life so it's well documented that these things don't do it and if we think they do we'll just recycle this appointment after disappointment we'll get the hit then recycle the disappointment then the awareness the longings there and there comes the search again louis c.s lewis also wrote this americanity and i love this most people if they really learned how to look into their own hearts would know that what they do want and want acutely is something that cannot be had in this world he goes on to say perhaps it means we were made for another world i believe that this is a snapshot compared to eternity with our lord but again here's the problem we live here we think well maybe maybe the answer is here somewhere because this felt good the pursuit of this and acquisition that felt good so maybe i just need need to do that again or or get one better than that that that's got to be the answer that will fill the deep longing that will make my hope realized but i i don't see that that i'm gonna list some ways for you that an earthly focus misleads us um when i think of focus me being me here's what i come up with this is my mask i'm a diver this is an outstanding mask it's an excellent mask it goes like this obviously it was back here it wouldn't work nearly as well so you can have all the scuba gear in the world you can have the best scuba gear in the world you can go out here and go for a dive if your mask isn't cleared the dive is garbage water gets in you can't see if it fogs up and so the focus is gone and you can't see what you went there to see and you know it's there and you're thinking well maybe maybe if i just stay down here longer but it got messed up from the start the focus is off i've done it i don't know how many times i didn't get the mask right the dive is wrecked you can barely see things you can't focus you can't see what you need to see to fulfill the hope you had for that experience so here's a list of some ways an earthly focus misleads us number one a focus on getting my value and identity from the earthly things around me can mislead me so so i like to spearfish people say so you're a spear fisherman no i'm a child of a living god who spears fish i my identity isn't a spear fisherman it never will be i've done a number of triathlons you know i'm sort of a muddler through and i do them some say oh you're a triathlete that's a stretch i'm a christian who does triathlons i don't i don't get my identity from anything other than jesus christ because i know that that well is endless i can drink from that well constantly how about this we can get misled by a focus on getting my sense of security in this world i'll be safe meaning i'll feel safe inside if i just arrange all the right things in the world to provide that safety and yet ultimately we're not in control it doesn't work does it this one i've referenced it already a focus on accumulating enough money material goods to stop worry and to bring joy if i have just enough money and just enough good health there'll be no more worry and i'll just live in joy if you're like me at all you know it just doesn't work only for brief moments in time and this one the lord built us to experience enjoyment but we can have a focus on experiencing consistent pleasure like this felt so good i love disneyland so much we're going to move and live inside disneyland i want to feel like that magical kingdom's in me every day we can get locked into that my life's about pleasure and we can get lost it's misleading how about a focus on finding perfect love not just love perfect love whether it's man woman whether it's best friends whether it's neighbors anything well you know i i want it to be perfect and it's not perfect yet again and so i'm i'm dissatisfied and this one this one is a personal thing of mine there can be this focus on not aging i am aging i'm older now than i was when i started this sermon that's just a fact clock is moving i'm not saying people shouldn't be you know tend to themselves and be as attractive as they can be but there seems to be this desperate need that's driven a mega billion dollar industry around the world to do two things not age and certainly not look like i've aged but you know underneath that what's the premise underneath that underneath that you can almost sniff this it's sort of based on this is all we got this is all we got so i got to make it the best i can while i'm here i'll spend anything do anything to make to slow it down to make it not real and a focus on hiding on finding self-worth from others opinions i call it the wpt's what people think you know how do your neighbors like i don't know you got to ask them how do you like living there what depends on what they say about me wait a minute do you have an opinion well i will i'll ask them if i have one i don't know why can't these things give us the deep satisfaction we need again they never have lewis will tell you there's no record of history of anybody satisfying the deep longings with the things of the world and so paul writes to timothy he comments on this he says command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hopes in wealth here it is which is so uncertain it's not that you know you shouldn't be a good steward of money but to put your hope there it means your hope is uncertain but to put their hope in god who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment and command them to do good to be rich in good deeds and to be generous and willing to share here it comes and in this way they will lay up treasured for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age the second coming heaven so that they may take hold of check this out so they may take hold of the life that is truly life we're talking about truly living is what we're being guided to here and you can read all about how faith make makes this work in the book of hebrews the hall of fame of faith chapter one it starts by faith this person did this by faith this person did that it's so inspiring but you know i love the phrase in there you may have heard faith is assurance of things what hoped for assurance not like cross your fingers you're open assurance of things hoped for and conviction of what things not yet seen that's what we're dealing with here and when we do this the possibilities for meaning and purpose and power and fruit in our earthly life are endless and in the process we become more like jesus how is that well because each day from morning on is a day with opportunities to to to aim at heaven and live life the fullest you possibly can day in and day out so we wanted to get more of a fix on what this looks like for people so we asked our staff a question and we sent it to the whole staff we got a nice response the question was what does daily living look like for you knowing that having an eternity with our father is secure i'm going to read you some of the things they said and then give you a challenge someone said this it is a life filled with great expectation hope joy for the future even if i'm struggling to find joy in the day before me and this is particularly true if i find myself struggling with losses in this life whether it be a loved one who loved jesus or even experiencing losses because of life stages i know that there will be a time in my future when all things will be restored and here it is this gives me hope each day daily dose of hope someone else said knowing that my future is secure assures me and reminds me that life is fleeting and the small stuff doesn't matter when i get caught up in putting more value on me than is really there being an eternity with my lord reminds me that most things are insignificant and while we may not win the daily battles god has already won the war you ever hear that saying don't sweat the small stuff and everything is small stuff someone else said prior to knowing jesus i would wake up in the middle of the night with anxiety attacks thinking about death and the fact that i had no idea what was going to happen to me but when i became a christian accepted jesus as my lord and savior i knew i'd be going to heaven to be with our heavenly father for eternity i no longer wake up the anxiety attacks yeah that she actually said yeah at the end of that i may be interpreting that someone else said for me knowing my eternity is secure it reminds me to look ahead and consider that she quotes from second corinthians 4 17. our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all she says it gives me a longer perspective of life and gives me hope when things are difficult and someone else on staff quoted a.w tozer wonderful theologian of times gone by and here's the quote from tozer when the followers of jesus christ lose their interest in heaven they will no longer be happy christians and when they are no longer happy christians they cannot be a powerful force and a sad and sinful world it may be said with certainty that christians who have lost their enthusiasm about the savior's promises of heaven to come have here it is i mean he gets it have also stopped being effective in christian life and witness in this world that's what can happen to us someone else said i don't have a fear of the unknown anymore whether stepping onto a street or in a combat zone or my neighborhood i prioritize my day and i always make what has eternal value first time in god's word prayer alone with my wife community with other believers and connecting with non-believers and one last one this staff member wrote it's about freedom for me freedom from my own anxieties worry guilt and shame and resting in the fact that i know i'm not in control so i can live my life with open hands day in and day out and living in this truth helps me pray for opportunities to share this freedom with others organic outreach works beautiful so i had a challenge for you today we learned a while back in a sermon series about spiritual pathways that we all have our unique way to come to the lord and worship the lord and it's totally valid you are imago de you're created in the image of god and you're unique you're a masterpiece will you pray today about what your life will look like the rest of today and tomorrow with your aim at heaven the the victory's been won you have an eternal forever home with the lord and so will you just pray today because yours may be completely different from any of the ones i read it's going to be unique to you and that's great all you have to do and maybe you're already doing it is praying and saying lord teach me even more about how to live today knowing my eternity with you is secure let's pray together lord god there's nothing better than that and jesus thank you for conquering death mankind's generally worst fear is death and for a believer it's not a fear anymore help us be secure in that never question our eternity with you if we're saved thanking you for that provision that because you've done that we can live a more effective and powerful life today than we ever thought possible be with each person here this morning father touch them in their life and open up that way of living for them in the way that fits them the way you've called them the way you've gifted them and we pray this thank you for it trust you for it because you are faithful and true and we do it all in the name of jesus amen you you jumped out i want to thank can we thank the lord for his word and thank uh dennis dinosaurs faithful preparation i got to tell you i only get maybe two times a year maybe three times a year that i don't preach if i'm not preaching here i'm almost always preaching somewhere in this country or somewhere in the world uh and when i'm not preaching normally i'm here and we have somebody coming in who's like a top national speaker like a jeff mannion or elise strobel or a gary thomas but i don't i there's nowhere i would have rather been today than sitting right here next to my wife listening to you open up the word of god and preach thank you yeah there are churches all over the world that would kill for a preacher like that and so stay here we love you here's what i was reminded listening to god's word we're victorious in jesus so we have heaven as our hope our certain assurance uh so we're so victorious we can live for jesus every day of our lives and next week's our final week in this victorious series and i'm going to talk about the way to victory what is the pathway to ultimate eternal victory to all that dennis talked about today if you know anyone if you're at home right now you know anyone who's not yet a follower of jesus and their hearts at all open to jesus they're anywhere near being open to jesus will you invite them to join you here on campus indoors at nine o'clock outdoors at 11 o'clock or online either service invite them to join you because they're going to hear the way to know jesus and even though we had an invitation two weeks ago and almost 40 people received jesus there's still people that need to know the gospel and receive it so we're going to be inviting people next week to respond to that before i dismiss you with the word of blessing a couple things there's a baptism class today at one o'clock with pastor roy if you have not been baptized and you're a follower of jesus please consider coming back at one o'clock if you're here or coming to join us at one o'clock join roy and learn what baptism is all about we want to share that with you a second i want to invite you to really pray about being part of a small group as we're reconnecting as we're regathering as we're moving back into into into some new ways of living together in community we are launching a bunch of new small groups tomorrow you will get an email with a link to our our group finder and there's men's groups women's groups couples groups there's all kinds of groups going on and i went to that group finder today to look at it and it's really cool if a group is full they'll say this group is full most of them have openings uh some are online some are in person some are topical some are biblical studies there are different kinds of groups but all the details are right there if you and we want to invite you to pray about jumping in for six to ten weeks and jump into a group and see what you think and i think you're gonna go man this is wonderful but do six to ten weeks see if that works for you if that grows you in your faith also in just a minute sherry and i are going to head out to the courtyard and if we have not had a chance to meet you before or if we haven't seen you in a long time i invite you to come by and join sharing in the courtyard and we'll be in a tent there uh by the connection center and we'd love to greet you and just have a moment to chat with you and then here in the worship center if you want prayer following the service pastor dennis the team of prayer warriors will be over here and also to let you know that pastor david and keith are in our venues we have two venues going on right now family worship venue over here and we have a masked venue over here and they'll be there available to pray with you and if you're online just go to the number you see right there and call that number and we'll pray with you online or you can type in that email and we'll pray for you throughout the week if you send a need into us and then finally if you're if you're new today we're so glad you're here if you're new online we're glad you're joining us uh if you're online just text the word welcome to the number you see there and we'll give you a digital welcome card and want to get to know you if you're on campus and you're new or if you've never gone to the connection center if you go out of the worship center turn left and go to the connection center patty's there and her team they want to give you a gift answer your questions just give a warm personal welcome and so come join her and as you leave the worship center do one more thing for us if you would after i send you off the word of blessing i know that some of you are like i'm done with masks i'm over this i was done before it started that's okay we're glad you're here just please pop on that mask anyways on your way out um there's there's times to protest but here at shoreline is not one of them just just there there are people who are really still concerned about this i know a church right now where half their pastoral staff has coveted one of the past pastors in the hospital and uh and kids are getting coveted and so so just there's people that are thinking about those things going man i don't make me nervous let's make this a good place for everyone if you're a small part i mean there's christians around the world who suffer for jesus by their homes are burned down and they're persecuted and killed wearing a mask for 20 seconds out of the building is not persecution okay so just just when i dismiss you um yeah um and and i'll say i'm not a mass guy i don't like the masks but i but i wear it to honor other people that's because that's what we do as christians right we honor each other and we're gonna keep doing that but we're gonna keep stepping forward every single week don't get me preaching but uh we already had a great message we don't need me to preach right now uh would you stand with me if you're able to stand and receive the sort of blessing and i'm not gonna be rude but right after i get this blessing i'm gonna dash out that way and beat you out there so i can meet people at that at the greeting booth there if you have come to god through faith in jesus you have his victory heaven is your home you already have one foot in heaven amen but as long as god has you on this earth shine the light of heaven bring the love of jesus live for him with a certainty and hope that you know that heaven is your home and shine his light everywhere you go for the glory of jesus amen god bless you max mascot head out and have a great day [Music] when
