say that there's not good food in London good Manch but I think there's some great great food where would you suggest I don't know it is one of them on me me and um we're Gatekeepers we don't like to talk on camera we're off camera we're going we're going to say the names of some restaurants but we might have to bleep it yeah yeah yeah yeah because I like going there and not see loads of people you know what I mean that's what trying to say yeah there's some good graub out there really good food I was doing this I said I'm paranoid I don't want no one to go there you know oh my God y we're yeah so wait so have you always been a chef then or yeah I always used to love to cook you know so for me cooking a music goes hand in hand one is right one is left listen you can't get me in the I've been experimenting with the music and just exploring my talent so I feel like you know it's just like when I just came on the scene and trying to find my sound and trying to find myself that's what I'm trying to do like on a bigger scale now so I feel like people are like what is she doing but for me it's just like I have more to give let me figure it out exactly so I think that people are really hard but I don't mind it don't get me wrong it only pushes me to do it better and learn from mistakes and go quicker um but I feel like you know people have not really been so open past two years but I'm still anything that I put out I believe in you know just even if I'm just exploring so it's whatever Vibe I feel I'm going to be performing yeah cuz when I think of Shenia you think of danceall right but obviously I feel like you want to expand because the world is bigger than Dan so in terms of how much people can there's a big you know I mean so many and I I feel like it's just like a Beyonce where she does R&B and now she can tap into country why cuz she's a true artist so I feel like when artists try to explore is like the end of the world no he's not it's because I feel like the core fames know you for one they get upet when they feel like oh you've gone mainstream I like to hear I hear that quite a bit cuz for example they'll start something in the beginning but you're an artist not just a dance guess what everybody starts from underground until they go mainstream and when they go mainstream you don't hear people saying oh y'all too mainstream anymore it's just how the world is it's all about perception and patience you know I only feel like I'm moving with people who are open-minded because at the end of the day it's just like you you don't want to do you just told me you was on YouTube now you'll transition to a podcast you don't want to be doing YouTube for the rest of your life why do we expect artists to do the same thing for the rest of their lives yeah yeah no I know what you mean but we must can get an exclusive though who's who's who's on the album you if you can't say you can't say it but off camera at least tell themand them yeah yeah course so it's like if you're a flop then you wouldn't be able to have these opportunities but you know how people are just like they just like to put things on people but then I generally I I I put aside like I say when people are trying to say you're a Flopper when they try to it's because of the fact you're doing so well now they're just starting to hate because it's cool to hate now but you have to understand that you're in a different position you were in like 3 years ago bra you can't you can't even listen to those things because of the fact that you know you're doing better in life so it's just sad people if if you're H like genuinely there there's no point of even consuming that because you're going to just think constantly are people saying I'm a flop there there's no point but you know at the end of the day you might hear a lot of artists say this but it is true that we are humans do we know of course of course like at the end of the day for me it was like I've given you so much hits back to back to back ever since I st on the scene how is it that now I'm exploring I'm a flop it just makes me feel under like not appreciated just like how how are you quick to throw away all my years of hard work just like that but I'm sure the postivity like you know what n no but I'm sure the positivity I weighs the negative do you get it I mean in real life it does yeah of course because nobody's got cheat for you in real life do you get it which is what I find so funny like be a boss the same us bro everyone will say that we we get thousands and thousands of negatives in anyone so it's like you can't really pay no mind to that you know what I'm trying to say I like people that hate you I've always realize people that hate are never in a better position than me you never see someone that's doing well or getting their head down just working hard or something and hating and they'll have the fake account use a 5 or5 with a mad picture that's not them of Cristiano Ronaldo or just hating for no reason it's true I find that people are doing that so much these days you know that's why I don't be like reading comments no I don't do that no more so it's so sad that these people are really going crazy and I ain't even seeing that [ __ ] yeah I feel like yeah I feel like the youths get a buzz of just people likeing a negative comment yeah you know what I mean it's true but that's what they do though cuz then if I do see one and I like reply to it they're like oh it was yeah we got yeah yeah yeah yeah but you know what it is though I've had to say you replying to it is what they needed that's what they want cuz how about this there's going to be a time where they they love you they actually like you but they they've been typing positive comments for the last year let's say then the first time they get a negative one in and you apply they're like well the only way we can get to sh is she apply to negativity you know what I'm trying to say so people will see that and now only be negative so I feel like you have to be you have to be you have to be balanced that's why that's why like if you ever see me reply I'm doing it for fun you never see me like really like disrespect somebody cuz on the media it's just like I can't do that you know in person though it's different but like I've never been want to I'm a very respectful person until like you really touch me you know so so how how do you overcome that you see like when you see so many this is something I'm still trying to work on but when you see so many negative things online and it does get to you like how' you get out of that little I get off line yeah yeah and I I see that that's what my peers do and before I was like you know like don't listen to people this and that whatever whatever but when you are transitioning into something new like it's it's very hard to like maintain like key Focus as opposed to like if you're doing so well right now and your confidence is up you know so in that space of time like if I feel like you know I'm exploring I just need to get offline more often just go on if I need to post don't be surfing too much and that's what happened to me like the first year of my like explore like just trying different different genres and mixing different different songs the first year I think I was going crazy cuz it's like remember I'm just stepping out of my shell of what I know for like six years or so so I was like who this really take a toe what the hell I need to get off but now I'm managing it so much better now you know I just realized that especially in these times like if I don't have anything to post I'm not just going to donet just to post you know I want to post substantial stuff yeah you know I want to post whenever I feel good because sometimes when I force it and I just post to be like oh my people say we got to do content keep up with this and my energy is not right the post don't even do good anyways yeah so I work with energy so when I'm happy that's when I post okay makes sense so is that is that where like Tik Tok comes from cuz nobody's really active on Tik Tok us making music which is cool cuz obviously why did you decide to go oh you know what I'm going to make food and I'm going to do stuff on Tik Tok my music wasn't ready yet first but at the same time that runs it up though yeah Tik Tok is a m real yeah it's real life like only thing is every time you see me cook a meal on Tik Tok it takes me 6 hours when I'm recording it looks like it's so quick that's cuz you have to like Cut St change the angle light make sure it looks good and voice overs and yeah it's all it's all a m thing but musically now um how do how does how's your process because obviously different artists have different processes um when you get into this how do you have to feel what do you what do you want to be feeling uh do you listen to the beat first do you write first because obviously you're not just a you're a singer you're a rapper you can do bits of everything so what's your process like M when I'm in a studio I love to choose the Beats first okay you know cuz then it speaks to me like I can instantly hear something that can fit this track right as opposed to like if I'm just there just forcing to write to a specific beat it's harder like I have to have multiple beats to choose from you know and whichever one I catch on to quicker that's the one I go with and what you are you trying to do a Melody straight off the bat or you trying to just WR the chorus Melody Melody yeah all right so obviously you're coming from Jamaica who would be your biggest influence growing up Vibes Cartel what a guy what a guy what a guy um dance out artist ever yeah yeah that's not that's fine I agree with that I generally agree with that but is he he's coming out soon right yeah I saw something that's what I about UK related what happened is he is he coming out I see sat on the blogs that what is this man asking me if he's coming out I hope so no there's basically something about a retrial something like that it's only CU I see something and I wasn't sure myad yeah no no it's cool I L saw that as well so um biggest influence would have been V cartel so with that information I want to jump into something we call blind ranking now blind ranking is basically when you don't understand the next artist coming up so you have one to five say for example I say now let's say blind ranking food if I say to you Curry mtin where are you putting that Curry Man Curry M as in the food you say you come from Jamaica speak properly say in your yard saying an accent or I saying it wrong say in a Jamaican accent don't play with me m brother mton mutton mutton there you go I was like Cur what no Curry harder because he's growing up and I prioritize him first so I spend a lot of my time with him now just trying to raise him the best way that I can you know um so I give him like it's a lot of things that I could do like when if I didn't have a kid I can't do it right now because I'm like I've spent too much time working for this past week I have to go be with my kid next week you know like if something B keep you next week I'm like yeah uh I got to go be with my kid that's amazing you know yeah I love my boy so much like my whole team just knows that with him is just no exceptions you know features sometimes I'll click the features first you know rather than taking in the whole project yeah but then he also has to understand he's one of the biggest artists so it would be nice to put your name there but uh anyway moving on um so yeah like I said we've got me the stallion whis tiger 21 Savage Shan Paul more and more and more um I remember in an interview you said that you wanted to get a Rihanna one in yes a Rihanna one Runo mar mar Bruno yeah yeah Bruno Mars I'm a big fan of Bruno Mars too I love post Malone yeah of course um it's just a couple like I feel like I love great artists like if you I'm never going to do a collab to be like oh it's just a collab no I have to like the way you sound like I'm a true fan of music you know I'm not for the hype to be like oh this artist is blowing up right now you just jump on the track no what's your process do you reach out to them personally or do you have someone do it for you sometimes it depends um majority of the collabs that I have I reach out myself you know because we always have some understanding or you know I think they respect all the artists that I call up with respect great Artistry to and they I think that they look at me like a good artist so it's never a problem for me to get a c every cab that I've done majority of them I ask for them and they give me free of cost of course that's like it's La of swaps that's what people like to do in these industries like that you don't for sometimes swap sometimes just love that's that's amazing sick mhm all right cool so obviously like you said yourself it's between Jamaica and America where would you say you spend most of your time if you're not it's half and half half literally half and half well for Jamaica I I'm back hostal in the US too so it's like maybe I would say 20% 25% in Jamaica cuz I'm always just busy doing a lot of stuff in the US too so your son goes school there in the yeah he goes School in the US yes he does okay doe do you like being in the US uh it got its perks yeah I guess I guess fro I think everywhere got its perks of course there's Frozen cons everywhere and that's why I can't stay one place for too long it's just like I got to get out I got to go see I want to do that but I can't man I love my mom too much man and you know what a crazy thing though think that growing up I used to move around so much too like growing up areas or country country country and Kingston like back and forth I used to go to pmore hogley Park ston Hill all them places so I think that St Thomas yeah it it it moves in me like it prepared me for my artist rain or artists have to move around so it's like now I really can't sit okay one place too long again I have asked this but where do you feel like your biggest fan bases out of of Jamaica wow ah ah she saying UK here man no be real be real I know why they say being real it's either going to be surely Us in Canada yeah um UK well on the statistics it says us oh of course yeah I get Maks it's cuz us is so big yeah for me Canada but based off how I feel when I travel um cuz I'm not really do I haven't really done a US tour in a while so I can't even say us just for that reason so I don't know in person but I would say Africa Africa is really big too and the French Caribbean islands sick that's yeah the French side is just like how do you even know my songs you don't even speak my language that's crazy and that's what makes it crazier like I would speak to them and they don't understand but you understand the songs it's well that's mental you know yeah what what would you say your favorite place is to perform I love performing here yeah that's cool I love performing here and I love per in the French islands where are you performing here where's the where's the tour so we got London where else Bristol Manchester Bristol and Birmingham yeah you Pi the perfect place they'll show you love serious you you know why I love here so much too is because when I came here with Dex adops I think maybe like 5 years ago I've seen that um I was always nervous to get on stage and Birmingham showed me so much love I was like so I just have to be myself when I'm performing yeah genuinely that's how I really learned how to perform just being myself because Birmingham brought that out of me they made me feel so comfortable wow it's just like wow this is amazing oh one two one you know and that's why I will never like UK has a very special place in no UK show love to dance all like type like music from they show music love I think we got I think we got good crowds here you know like I went to um rolling loud not too long ago I thought the crowds were dead we in LA right yeah no they were dead you know yeah but for me I always be digging though I
