Sharon Horgan & Eve Hewson On New Dark Comedy 'Bad Sisters' | This Morning

[Music] friday now if you're looking for a brand new tv show to sink your teeth into we might just have the answer yes with a brilliant cast and plenty of twists and turns apple tv plus series bad sisters promises to be a hit let's have a little look so two of the stars of bad sisters sharon horgan and eve hewson join us now you're giggling a lot youtube you're obviously getting very very well done let's get a bit over excited seeing that trailer oh okay have you not seen it before oh no i might have time okay but it premieres worldwide tomorrow the opening scene is hilarious i i dark comedy you know is it black humor or whatever they call it for me is such an art to get right you've definitely got it right thank you could you tell that when you going through the process of writing creating mate reading the script you're like yeah this is going to work well um well i wrote it yeah so um i i uh you never know you never know until you sort of uh like at this stage because because and you never know with the scripts and then with rehearsal you don't know and then you kind of get the edit and you think oh no it's too dark or it's it's too silly and then it's just a balancing um thing yeah and i suppose for you it's hard to separate yourself from it right because it's something so close to you because you've written it you just have to sort of wait and see what everybody thinks it's quite it's like your baby's being born tomorrow it is it's it's i think i texted you that i said like you're about to give birth to a baby yeah i know it's been a little bit somebody tells me that that baby's ugly i'll probably believe it but it's good that's a beautiful baby beautiful i'll tell you it's a beautiful baby based on a foreign series didn't you yeah well it's adapted from a flemish series called clan which was also scary because i'd never like adapted anything before so so as andy said so it's out tomorrow tell us all what it's about do you want me to do it you do it really well i heard you okay so it's about five irish sisters who hate one of the sisters husbands because he's a terrible terrible human a human being he's a monster he's a monster and so they decide to kill him yeah um and they're terrible at that murder yeah it's a great idea and then basically all these things happen they fail many times but you know that he's dead from the first episode right yes it's a how done it you know it's a murder mystery thriller drama yeah with lots of comedy yeah and for me that's the key it's it's you know you every so often you laugh which kind of relieves the tension yeah is that really important when you're right now it really is i i think it also hits harder when you're you know laughing just the moment before and then you know a scene comes along and knocks you around the back of the head and it can be really brutal and also you can deal with really serious subjects there's a extremely uh abusive relationship at the heart of this and that's the scary thing with sort of balancing the humor you don't want to make a light of anything but you also want to give people a bit of relief and i mean there's lots of silliness in it but there is actually and and for you i guess when you when you read that script were you instantly like okay i get this i'm in yes and it was the day before christmas eve and i was on my christmas holidays and they sent me this and i was like i don't want to make an audition tape today i'm you know my mind was like turkey already like on holiday so um but then i read it and i was like oh no now i'm going to have to make a tape so i had to change my christmas eve plans and make the tape and yeah and i completely fell in love with her as soon as i saw the tape but then we made you come back in and yeah do another one for some i did like a zoom read with you and you were in your folk's sitting room and i was like having a little look were you looking around today yeah i was like that isn't i know i was like embarrassed about the wallpaper i was like oh my god please ignore the wallpaper my mom went a little crazy but you kept it quite irish it's got that lead past is all irish and also on and off screen as well the people behind the scenes lots of irish and female developers have to give her a shout out yeah and we've got uh close bang who plays the the monster he's uh danish and we have some nice uh french actors but but for the most part and your love interest dharma yes yes very irish very irish it's completely irish they're all out he's gorgeous very beautiful mom wait until you see me there were days where i was like i don't want to be next to him on camera this is not fair what was it like on set though because as you say there's there's five sisters that's right isn't it and so i can imagine having that real sort of sense of you know that real female cast yeah onset was a really nice inspiring empowering thing right very relaxing really being around too many men just don't have to worry what you talk about exactly and you can say you've got nice shoes yeah you can just wear whatever you want it was kind of like a lunch break at a girls school right okay like we could just hang out usually when you work your all the time working with a lot of men which is you know a different thing lovely listen yes sometimes you know the sofa he's a lot of gorgeous men thanks very much our director got us to you know hang out a lot for the first sort of week and a half we just you know we went swimming together and you know we had a long rehearsal period and that sort of really bonded us as sisters but they're just like great girls amrit duff and eva berthis or sarah green they're they're the best really isn't it do you did you feel under huge pressure i mean apple tv is now you know it's one of the gold standards yeah i know did you feel under real pressure thinking oh it's going to be on apple oh for heaven's sake is going to be an apple i don't really think about any of that until it's too late like right now he just told me and i'm out of the brickies but yeah i suppose but you you get to do things in such a a big glorious way yeah you know slightly bigger budget yeah absolutely and i think yeah it was really slightly bigger but you kept it all in ireland we can't listen it's pricey there as well oh yeah okay but some beautiful scenery oh gorgeous that's what i noticed in that trailer yeah some of the scenery she looks very sexy i think yeah like pulling it off there you go are you happy are you happy with it i i'm delighted so that i binged it the whole thing twice this past weekend no the whole thing twice i honestly i usually despise watching myself yeah you feel good that i kept rewinding and watching the scenes amazing yeah the dynamic between your sisters is really good so obviously it launches tomorrow apple tv series as we said could there is there room for any more already do we know that at this stage oh we don't we don't i mean we're it's always an option you know i mean it's a limited series it's based on limited series but they're you know the sisters are so great together and it's such a fun premise that you kind of think something could happen but there could be sort of i've heard this phrase limited series what's limited series well well it's sort of like when it's done it's done okay continuously yeah so you'll have to write something else basically well you know i mean i don't know it's being [Applause] [Laughter] don't give them too much yeah i think that means there's something else coming in i know she said is that the sister's a really good character so i'm seeing spin-off yeah just it could be hey come here can i give a shout out to my daughter who got her a-level results actually got an a-star in two
