Shaquille O'Neal surprises teen in need of size 18 shoes

a cbs46 is getting results after a single mom posted a plea on social media about her 13 year old son we're getting star-studded results today now get this her little boy wears a size 18 shoe but she can't afford to buy him those sneakers that he desperately needs until now cbs46 anchor Sharon Reed is live from Freedmen's with a very special guest and Sharon this is the best story of the day it really is and you need to call it famed Freedmen's right because there's really not that many places that can outfit someone so big you I perhaps we do not even understand what it's like to have a foot that big and as you said he's only 13 but I know somebody who understands right who knows all about it it's Shaquille O'Neal who's here right now and Shaq how you doing I'm doing about yourself how's the weather up there it's very hot he's probably gotten that all the time um so listen we saw this young man's story Zach all over social media he tagged cbs46 and I said to myself who can help this young man because his struggling single mom just can't afford shoes that size I mean a 13 year old size 18 and growing and growing so I reached out to you and you said you know what I'm gonna do one better I'm gonna show up at help when I was eight years old trying to get to the prom my father contacts a great Popovich from the San Antonio Spurs Gregg Popovich puts him in touch with a guy named Bruce from Freedmen's in Atlanta my father gets on the phone with Bruce it says hey Bruce I'm Shaquille O'Neal Bruce says I'm over your son this fabulous player wish him well to LSU all that stuff and I said you got some size to 18 penny loafers Bruce said sure I got whatever you need first hoping the price which is probably about 100 $200 my dad was a do you have a layaway program Bruce laughed and said you know what Sarge I like your son he's a great man i'ma give him the shoes if he ever turns pro just tell him to come back so Bruce gave me a pair of shoes when I was 18 years old for free so I'm gonna take care of the kid today because somebody did it from I'm doing it for the kid but I've been coming to Friedman's in Aladdin for 30 years and I grew bread the rest of the sons a family had been taking for 30 years so everybody in America if you're looking for size 18 and up is only one place to go that's Bruce at Friedman's in Atlanta on ministry Google it look it up on being all the places he's well known around the world you know what two to three thousand pairs later this is their best customer here so we're all excited the gang's all here Bruce the whole family's here and soon Zack and his mom are gonna show up Zack does not know he does not know that he's gonna meet superstar Shaquille O'Neal or that he's gonna get some new shoes so much more to come Thomas that's all I don't think I've got my highest pair of heels I have one other things Sharon I want to ask because for some of us what has made a really good point we don't have any understanding of what it's like to have an 18 shoe you have a very tiny foot right is there an 18 size shoe they can put next to yours to give us perspective of the difference I can show you that how about this size 22 these are some shoes that Shaq just picked out and said listen this is what I want get me all of these again he's bought like 3,000 pairs you know from Freedman so why stop now but that's kind of the sizing but maybe when we come back when you guys get back to us I'll like slip one on and you can see how much it's like it's like sitting in a small car right like a luxury car and but much more to growing I am not sure I've never checked I just know that uh you know because the Angels like Bruce I've been able to have shoes on my feet and you know the kid this is what a single mom and I understand what she's going through but Uncle Jack is here to save today and he's getting ten pair I don't know I'm a very needs but I'm gonna take your tender lesson for a long time that's like
