Shakira Says Gerard Piqué 'Betrayed' Her While Her Dad Was in the ICU

Shakira opens up about her split from Gerard piquette revealing she was betrayed by him while her dad was hospitalized it's been quite a journey in a new interview with people in Espanol Shakira says her father was visiting her in Barcelona to console her after she was consumed with sadness because of the breakup but during that time he was Gravely injured in an accident quote everything happened at once my home was falling apart I was finding out through the press that I had been betrayed while my dad was in the ICU I've always been very close to my family I have absolutely adore my dad he's so lovely he's always been so loving and and caring Shakira says at the time her dad was in the ICU she thought she wasn't going to survive adding the man I have loved the most in my life my father was leaving me when I needed him the most I couldn't talk to him or go to my best friend for the advice I needed so much I guess that it happens to all of us once in a while you know yeah us women that you think that you're in a real relationship and it's not as real as it seems Shakira and Gerard announced their separation last June after 12 years together not too long after their breakup Gerard was spotted with his current girlfriend Clara Chia that relationship with oneself in which so many so many things come to play you know especially being committed to your own goals in life and not giving up and not abandoning or throwing in the towel too soon just because the environment tries to bring you down and how has Shakira been coping with her new environment through her music and her kids Milan and Sasha whom she shares with Gerard she's even featured the kiddos in the video for her new song acrostico a love letter to her boys [Music] I do think that my kids are they do have some kind of musical Talent Shakira's latest track seemingly sends a message about their life now [Music] foreign [Applause] treated me like this I will be strong just for you all I want is your happiness and be with you they really take everything from you you know I I give them all I give them not only my physical energy but also my my intellectual energy and you know it's like mothers are always uh thinking and and double guessing and and wondering for doing things right or not you know [Music]
