Severe Matting On A POODLE

this entire thing is off of the back and legs good morning as you can see this boy is severely severely matted but that is why I do free Grooms I like to help these dogs get them back in the shape that they need to be give the owners products that they need um everything that I am using today will be linked down in the comments along with my wish list and PayPal if you want to help out um he is very very mted in here they have obviously trimmed the head a little bit very very matted in here very very long nails but I'm going to get all this coat stripped off and then we'll get him in the bath do a flea and tick bath and get him feeling much much better I am going to start with a 15 I don't I mean a 10 if I need to I'll go down to a 15 um but this guy is pretty matted he feels really thin [Music] what you think Mr Batman this guy is very very thin very [Music] thin [Music] so I will give them fleeing tit collar some yard spray home fogger dewormer and some food I mean that is pretty [Music] bad when dogs are thin you got to be careful not to cut [Music] them thankfully I'm not seeing any fleas this guy is pretty friendly so far which is good can you stand up can you stand up all right go it's okay good boy so I'm just pulling the skin tight gently so I can get underneath those mats this is the worst case I have had in a while but that's why I do what I [Music] do so some some of you may question well can you cut this and I could cut it but it would ruin my grooming shears grooming shears are very expensive and they're not made to cut through mats and that's why most of the time you see groomers keep it in one piece it's only on them for you know just a few minutes until we're able to get all this off this guy's nervous okay but this is literally like a fleas or ticks right now I'm still going to use a flee and tick bath just because of the condition that this boy is in just to make sure he is fully taken care of I'll be using a mix of fle and tick clean out his ears this say ear powder helps me grip that hair in there because usually it is covered in ear wax and it makes it really slippery it's way too thick good boy yeah see it's gross all that's cleared out PL all that we can with our fingers you're okay bud I know let me see he might have an ear infection in this ear so what I'm going to do is use this special flush it is medicated and it has medicine in so if they are infected this will help them okay so I have this Nifty new car wash nozzle I have used these before I have the Savior fur bathing system I prefer these so I like this one cuz I can control the flow when I do the head I can put it down really low or I can go full force I'm just going to pull it back just a little bit and it's got three different settings for the soap we going to go on the second one this is mixed this has fleing tick and regular shampoo good boy going to feel so much better kick it up a notch all right got turn so skinny you turn the water off buddy diry these are really good to use at home you can they attach to a regular hose if you want to bathe your dog during summer these are great they also have the jet setting so if you want to remove undercoat they will also do that runs about $25 on [Music] Amazon turn turn turn turn turn no sir thank you very full anal gland okay so I'm going to rinse or quick rinse and then I'm going to do one with just regular shampoo make sure he is good and [Music] clean this is what I'm using the peachy perfect it's tear free I love it cuz it's tear free can use it on the face I can use it on puppies and do full strength and make sure that we really wash his mouth area get the rest of him [Music] clean I'm going to clip his nails in just a minute if he'll let me but I do it after the bath it kind of softens them so they're a bit [Music] easier to cut rinse [Music] all right woo we once he is completely dry I got to trim his nails first though um we'll meet you back on the grooming table table but trim those Nails I know it's weird isn't it you know what these are Clifford buddy what what what what you're fine I didn't get you it's okay good boy not being mean just using my arm to push them up against that so I can actually get these trimmed nope no sir no sir no [Music] sir makes it so much easier after the bath cuz they're soft boy good boy good boy all right he absolutely that's what's causing it sometimes I even let clients take them home the happy hoodies so what I'm going to do quickly is just trim around these ears the best I can and then leave a happy hoodie on him good boy so what I'll do is make sure all of the hair around the area where the happy hoodie is going to be as short as I can get it with the Clippers and then I'll focus on the rest of the body so what happens is when dogs have matted ears it constricts blood flow when you release those mats it that blood flow rushes back and with the centri IAL force of them shaking their head it throws all that blood to the end of their ear causing hematomas so what I'm going to do no no no no make sure all this is the way it needs to [Applause] be and then put this happy hoodie back on him so he cannot he can still Shake but it's not going to throw that blood to the end of the ears because the ears are compressed against the head and that compression will help that blood be distributed back into the this happy hoodie on him uh until he go goes home and that will help prevent you don't like that the progression of those hematomas sweet boy had to wrap his head in coband cuz he would not keep the happy hoodie on it's the first time I've had to do that but I do not want him getting hematomas but here's the after no sir thank you
