Set Up iTerm2 with me | MAC TERMINAL MAKEOVER *oh-my-zsh + PowerLevel10k*

hello do you guys ever get tired of your Dev environments because I'm bored of mine I recently got a new Macbook for work and by recently I mean like to days ago I spent most of Thursday trying to set it up and then on Friday I ended up working on my old laptop because I severely underestimated how long it takes to set up a new Macbook for programming I had to install Home Room python Java get all the Amazon internal build tools I had to download all my favorite code editors and apps and browsers intell vs code slck chime Outlook Mozilla I had to pass over all of my notes and documents and create bookmarks and folders and automations and shortcuts it was a lot I really left all the trash in my old MacBook and I transferred only what I need or so I hope it looks so good so clean so efficient so productive like I actually want to log in on Monday to work crazy so in this video I'm doing myself a Macbook makeover this is a 14in MacBook Pro with the Apple M2 prochip and 16 GB of RAM it is my own personal MacBook and it's my baby but I use it mostly for video editing for YouTube I don't really use it that much for programming but that is about to change excuse me I never really set up my MacBook for programming because I wasn't really programming outside of my job and obviously for my job I use a different MacBook but now I feel like programming again outside of my job so let's do it let's set it [Music] up I'm obsessed with these lately the first step is to get itm 2 I always used the default MacBook terminal I didn't really understand the fuss about these fancy terminals but I watched some videos and I get it now and now I want a cool funky terminal too you still won't catch me editing in Vim though mostly because I wouldn't know how to get out why is this bookmark not disappearing I can't have you guys see my bookmarks that would be embarrassing download iTune 2 I have to say I have such respect for people who take their Tex seriously wait is this from MacBook and we're downloaded check optically nice as I was saying I have such respect for people who take their text seriously because I just can't be bothered I'm always lazy when it comes to Tech not when it comes to coding but when it comes to Tech One I find something that I like and that works for me I'm going to use it forever and I can't be bothered with changing things just because there's something slightly better out there or there is a new trend going around I have itm two now I need to make it look cute ah okay got it so this morning a plumber came into my apartment to change a valve in the flush of my bathroom I offered him if you wanted anything to drink like some water or some juice and he said he would like a coffee he obviously saw my coffee machine I do have a very nice automated npress a coffee machine so I decideed okay I'm going to make him a coffee wait there's a there's an error I need to run this so I was going to make a coffee for the plumber and then I realized I only had decaf left like I run out of capsules and I only had two decaf capsules left I served a PO plumber decaf coffee and I didn't tell him it was decaf jail now I need to install oh my zush by the way I watched some YouTube videos on how to do this like I'm not just installing things for the sake of it obviously I think I've used this before but I never really really used it if you know what I mean I think this is used to change the colors of your terminal but I'm not familiar with it at all all my Z SH batteries included this is supposed to be a joke Le your terminal like never before blah blah blah I want to pick out a themeall this yes this works oh wow nice okay read the documentation first okay I'll read the documentation first cut with snx oh this this is helpful let's start by setting a theme I turned to some cute color schemes this is terrible like who would even get a white team actually now that I think about it I do have a senior engineer at work who uses light theme popping and walking now retro ew this is terrible this looks like you're in The Matrix shades of purple sleepy hello Adventure Afterglow I kind of like Afterglow wait let me write the options down oh got sture I got a new planner what did I like C go alien blood ew Andromeda arish argonut Arthur broadcast brogrammer that's funny oh what's going on here oh these are broken somehow I do like my S espresso so Fahrenheit No thank you I'm team saus like I found some I like but I haven't found the one you know oh I like this one it's so cute ryuko I think this is it I really like this one the ryuo oh I love it it's the one colors import is this it ah now we're talking okay this looks more like it I think I kind of want more contrast can I increase the contrast no okay I call this a success I found a theme I liked a lot of people also look at Power level 10K so I'm going to check that out I don't know what it is or what it does but people seem to find it relevant when it comes to customizing the terminal power level 10K okay let's give it a [Applause] try configure oh what wa maybe I need to restart this I'm sorry but I'm back to my old theme I'm a bit confused why did it go back to the default configurations like I did not understand I put it back to my theme okay now it's on my theme okay manual installation I do have it oh my God I'm so confused why is this not working oh I managed it's downloading them and installing the fonts now I'm restarting it does this look like a lock yes this is look like an upwards Arrow yes front style one two we classic or rainbow wow there's a lot of questions here I'm sorry but vertical slanted and round all look the same to me one line promp spacing okay I think it looks really good this is everything I have for you
