[Music] hey you TV ends what's up I'm another X Y Z and welcome back to another cool burger today we're hanging out in our slash Pro revenge where people just get dunked on regularly and also the fan on my computer decided to turn up very very loud so I apologize for that and if you can hear that in the background let's go ahead and just hop right on in the old lady that owned a pizza place building in my town this is a funny Pro revenge story about how an old lady screw her over entitled children the actors in this story are old lady Oh L owner of the building she's 80 plus years old and has an apartment in the same building as the pizza place pizza owner owner of the pizza restaurant and a good friend of old lady super entitled son SES take note this guy is 50 plus years old and one of the three old lady's sons they're all entitled and make a huge fuss but SES was the worst a bit of background in my town there's a famous pizza restaurant in a prime spot and always busy I've known the pizza owner since I was a kid and I know he makes tons of money from the restaurant he told me that he makes between two thousand and ten thousand in profits each day but he did not own the building and have wanted to do it since he started renting old lady always refused to sell no matter the offer and trust me she has received huge offers the story this happened over a year the old lady received an offer from a bank for the building everyone in town learned about because the offer was over 1 million this is an incredibly high amount in my country of course the old lady refused to sell here come's entitled kids apparently all three learned that their mother got this massive offer and because she's getting old they wanted her to sell to move her to a retirement home since they have been insisting on her selling that this is the best she is going to get and it would be for the best for them to get that money in their inheritance apparently this pissed off old ladies so much that she went behind her children's back and offered to sell the place to Pizza owner for a fraction of the bank's offer from what Pizza owner told me she sold him the building for about two hundred and eighty thousand dollars with a clause that he is not allowed to tear it down while she lives and she is allowed to live in her apartment until she dies Pizza owner agrees to the terms bye old lady and bought the place old lady made sure to have the doctor and lawyer check her to make sure they got all the legal stuff indicating that she was sane and in what she was doing was on her own will she was preparing for the ish storm that was coming and covering pizza owner from the wrath of her entitled children boy was she right a week after the purchase was complete and pizza owner became the sole owner of the building old lady's oldest son shows up to the restaurant in the middle of dinner on busy Sunday demanding to speak with Pizza owner from the other people's testimony he started yelling that Pizza owner was a scammer and he took advantage of an old lady and he was going to sue for all he had when Pizza owner responded that he bought the place and that ses mother was the one who offered to sell the place to him ses stormed into the old lady's apartment and began yelling to his mother the other two sons were behind nearby yelling as well that he was going to take Pizza owner to court because he took advantage of an old lady and she was going to say in court that all was true even threatened Pizza owner that he was going to kill him for what he did someone called the police and they handcuffed ses this is where it gets better old lady told super entitled son and her other two sons that they were getting nothing out of her even on her death she have already donated 80% of all of her money to charity and whatever she had left when she dies was going to the same charity sadly I was not there but I would give anything to see super entitled son and his brothers when she told them to suck it old lady is still alive and well Pizza owner is renovating the place making it larger nicer super entitled son got a restraining order to be at least 100 meters away from both Pizza owners I'm gonna be honest some of that was a little bit difficult to read but I think I got the whole gist of the story it sounds like this old lady put her entitled sons in the right place they were just overly entitled and they were upset and they were trying to get her to go to retirement homes they could take all her money and her property from her and what she did in the end was like a real just like bold mega move on him and just completely swooped it out from underneath them and gave it to a guy who seems like he's actually going to enjoy the building and do what that person wants him to do instead of put them in a retirement home so I mean can't fault the old lady I think she did not some Java get in that revenge a whole tax let's reduce your bill to zero was inspired by another a-hole tax story I was working for an advertising company selling print and digital advertising my company got bought out by a much more successful competitor a new CEO put in a new policy we provide value and expect our customers to value us in short massive discounts are going to stop especially on small accounts problem accounts with small revenue we're going to cut no longer are we going to spend countless hours serving a $300 a month account we've got clients giving us fifteen to twenty thousand a month now in terms of pricing a 20 to 30 percent discount from full price was normal for special customers forty to 50 percent wasn't unheard of sales people could go up to 55% off managers could authorize up to 75% and VPS could offer up to 80% off for special situations that was the old policy the new policy was salespeople 15 to 20 percent new sales people can justify is 20 to 25 percent and manager 40% VP's 50% anything higher than that needs a CEO approval and revenue needs to be 2,500 plus after discount we would honor pricing for one contract a year on old policy as a courtesy with the warning pricing will go up I had a client he was at 77% markdown his name was Earl Earl was a simple hard a man who beat and moaned all the time Earl called customer service every month to complain Earl was spending $300 a month with over a thousand and service Earl said he wasn't getting any service I went back and reviewed the leads and listened to the calls Earl was getting tons of leads from us I listened to several of Earl's calls where people were calling Earl and getting its voicemail these peoples were saying Earl I want to hire you call me back I pointed this out to Earl Earl had every excuse under the book on why his failing business was fault Earl said I needed to renew his contract and drop the price to 250 a month this wasn't gonna happen at this point I told Earl I was willing to renew his contract with no changes and keep the price the same but he wasn't having that he wanted another discount Earl filed a complement against me for providing poor service this didn't go anywhere I called Earl up and said Earl we need to meet up one last time to sort this out Earl laughed and said so I got y'all to cave huh I went to Earl and I said after extensive review we have determined we are providing you with an excellent return on investment and the issue with your business isn't that we aren't generating leads is that you aren't converting those leads into business our job isn't to generate sales we generate leads with that being said we are prepared to renew your contract at 750 a month for the same services provided Earl balked that's three times what I told you I was willing to spend to which I said I understand Earl that's the best we are going to offer you Earl is yelling screaming me saying he's gonna sue us that we can't increase his price by 300% which we totally can sure we have to honor the existing contract but when that term is up it's a new contract and I said Earl we obviously wouldn't want you to sue us let me do this I'll reduce your bill to zero a month Earl looks at me and goes now that's more like it and I said great I'll go ahead and cancel your agreement so we won't have a business relationship anymore Laurel laughed and said you can't do that so I proceeded to cancel his advertising contract Earl called my boss to complain said I shouldn't be allowed to refuse him a renewal on the contract my boss backed me up and said Earl I should have done that two years ago I did Google Earl's business six months later he had apparently closed up shop edit I don't think it's business clothes because he shut down his advertising with us I don't think it helped him but he was pretty bad at his job lots of customers complaining leaving bad reviews poor follow-up etc this is actually one of the few cases that I've seen where a corporate buyout actually made a situation better for someone it seems like this corporation was like yo you can't cut as big of a discount as you guys were cutting before we're a big successful company you can only do this and it led into almost like a malicious compliance crossroads with pro revenge because he was just complying with it why he was given he can only give up to like 20 to 25 percent discounts if he could justify it and he was receiving $1,000 with a service so he can like give him 750 bucks worth of a contract so this person was maliciously complying and getting pro revenge at the exact same time I think that's kind of an interesting crossroads because you wouldn't think that those two would me very often try to make me pay for something that was already there I'll see you in court this is for anyone who's ever been effed over by an apartment complex in my opinion it's revenge but if it doesn't fit I'll move it a few years back I was moving into a new apartment with a co-worker of mine he was an okay roommate good guy overall just did some hasty things not the focus of the story though anyway so as we move in they give us the inventory of the apartment so we can mark what's wrong with it they tell us who they just replaced the carpets 18 days earlier and the maintenance crew had also replaced the stove and bathtub yay for us right so we went through and started marking stuff I'm a bit anal retentive about this stuff so I marked every little mark ding scratch etcetera in the place and this allegedly new greyish carpet you know the type that will quickly stain when the Sun shines on it there were three smaller stains on it all of yellow in the living room one in my room and one in my roommates room we marked us down and made sure we were specific as later when they finished up turned the inventory and went over it with the leasing agent who signed that it was accurate and we were good to go I move in with my pup and my roommate moves in with his cat fast forward 14 months I'm moving out to move in with a couple of other friends and we're getting ready to clean what not when who shows up but Karen the leasing agent for the pre-inspection I was at work at the time but my girlfriend was there apparently Karen walks in and down the hallway and says oh yes carpet and then walks out she'd been in the apartment less than a minute now even though we're guys and not super clean freaks we didn't maintain an overall clean environment according to my girlfriend so her saying that was weird we figured we were okay yeah stupid us we moved out and on our separate ways I get a bill in the mail three weeks after move out for $1,400 for carpet replacement and other and cleaning things now some of those things were completely on me and my roommate because one of my roommate got attacked in the middle of the night about a week or two before we moved out so he didn't know cleaning whatsoever my girlfriend and I did our best but we'd figured we'd get dinged a little but not the full 500 ollar deposit and an extra 1,400 holding ish I sit down with the Karen and Karen's boss super bein asked basically WTF they brought up three stains and said they were made by either my dog or roommates cat and also the inventory on our first day that Karen signed was invalid because there was too thorough for it to be true and the carpet was brand new I basically said that's bullish and I'm not paying for it so superbee sent it to collections I fought it for a year with the collection agency and got nowhere it took my credit score from around a 750 to a 650 needless to say I was exhausted from my high-stress job from fighting this and I was ready to just pay it and be done until the best girlfriend in the world pointed out I should just sue them so I did I sued the apartment complex for $7,500 the max I can sue in small claims without needing to get a lawyer involved I couldn't afford one I had the Sheriff's Department deliver the lawsuit paperwork to the apartment complexes parent company and had a court date set I was scared ish lists as I'd never done this kind of thing before I prepped what little evidence I had and went to court the Honorable Judge awesome Nick awesomesauce was presiding that day and when my case was called I went up with my evidence and the apartment complex was nowhere to be found so judge awesome asked me why I was suing for such a large amount and I explained the situation showed that the inventory with her signature clearly said that both parties agree that there were stains in the carpet prior to my move-in and therefore I didn't think it was fair I had to pay for the carpet but I was willing to pay what I knew I owed if they would just remove my bill from collections I also said I called in sick from anxiety of dealing with this a few times over the last year and I was currently missing work to be in court that day and while I didn't expect to get 7500 I wanted to get their attention and stick it to them because they can't treat people like this judge awesome listened and smiled and said something along the lines of well since they aren't here I will give you a summary judgment which me you win and not only do you not have to pay for the carpet but you can have your full deposit back I wanted to start dancing but I'm in court and a terrible dancer so I didn't he gave me my full deposit back plus the few days of work I missed even though I said I got sick pay for it all in all it was about $1,500 and he ordered that they remove it from my credit and take it from collections I called them up and told them that I sued them today and one superbee said oh well we had a mix-up with our lawyers and they forgot to show up but would you still like to pay your bill I laughed and said eff no and hung up they tried not to pay initially so I sent them a letter with the judge's judgement and said I would put a lien on the company if they didn't pay up so I got a check about a week later basically take photos get copies and never pay the bill if you don't actually know it it is worth fighting in court if it's truly not on you TDS our apartment complex tries to screw me so I returned the favor I just want to say that this kind of thing wow this person went in all in to the point where they knocked a hundred points off their credit score which is a bold move and they obviously went through a lot of stress on this and this is honestly one of the things I'm scared about the most when I move into apartment complexes so I like to make sure I nitpick literally everything just to make sure that when people come back to redo inspections afterwards and stuff that I don't get screwed on it and I haven't been screwed on it yet but I have a feeling it will happen to me one day and I'd be super pissed
