We get many patients asking: Is sedation
safe? And this is definitely understandable, and we like to take time to explain everything about it so they can feel completely comfortable in going into a procedure. For each patient my utmost concern is the patient's safety. Dental anxiety is extremely common among patients. We constantly find ways to alleviate dental anxiety through sedation. There are a couple different levels of sedation, starting with nitrous oxide or laughing gas, then moving up to moderate sedation. So dentistry can be stressful on the heart and to the entire body. By incorporating dental sedation, it
actually reduces the stress and anxiety on the heart, and actually makes everything that we do in the dental office a safer procedure. We have a number of monitors that we use throughout the procedure to make sure each procedure is as safe as possible. We monitor oxygen levels throughout the procedure to make sure their breathing's
effective and unaltered. We have a heart monitor attached to each patient to ensure that the heart is beating appropriately throughout the procedure. We understand that sedation might not be for each patient, and so that's why here, at ProGrin Dental, we tailor each appointment to make sure that they have the best experience possible. And that's why we've developed the Comfort Menu, where each patient can choose from a warm blanket, lavender towel, a neck pillow, and a number of other choices to make sure that each patient has the best experience possible. I was really nervous going in to get my wisdom teeth taken out, but Dr. Carraway would really calmed my nerves. The sedation was the best thing that I could have ever done. I barely even remember anything that happened, and I would definitely do it again!
