welcome back to some professional stock wrap too let me introduce to you the fan favorite Zerg in the top right of Ancient Cistern in the red it's none other than Scarlett and her Canadian Challenger and this all Canadian Showdown on the other side of the map the blue protoss fighting for Apprentice Esports he goes by disc a top-tier Grandmaster player himself but definitely the underdog in this ESL SC2 America's Showdown a best of three PvZ and if you like a good old n a match if you like an Underdog Story or if you want to see Scarlett ripping the charades well should like this video because uh Jimmy what are we at one okay 1031 likes yes I've upped it even more than the last one and the one before but 1031 likes I'll cast it in the series and I'll probably do it anyways as well I don't know what else I'd do but thank you for being here I hope you enjoyed thank you to ESL SC2 I'm very much looking forward to this all I know about this match uh it's zerglings all right that that is not that was not part of a sentence that was a complete sentence so grab your emotional support zerglings keep them close uh otherwise they might get away and start running at the protests now of course uh most surge do end up wanting that but the time the upgrades uh and of course the state of the game are all very relevant Scarlett has a tendency to now both are greatest strength and I think many times uh uh potential weakness are decisive commitment two strategies whether it's intense greed or overwhelming units either way sometimes the um the treatment doesn't always match the symptoms and that's when Scout ends up in these awkward situations where she can't really defend against the Army her her opponent is building but other times it makes Zerg look downright overpowered so uh we will have to see as time goes on roach Warren is on the way already spotting the gas timing at the natural it is a Twilight Council behind this is Oracle with an immediate switch into glaves this is an incredibly quick glaze after that first Stargate there will be a roach one again for for scarlet but will she realize how quickly the glaive The Depths will come out behind it this is definitely one of the fastest slave Transitions and a lot of the time what you'll see after the Stargate is going to be a blank plus one kind of these more long-term less High pressured strategies ones that age better than ones that are better equipped to deal with later game unit compositions but disc is opting for what should be something of it all in time glaive the depths are very simply don't let neap tell you otherwise but they're very simply not a late game unit they do not stack up against roaches ravagers vein links they're all about hitting those timings before your opponent's ready for them but Scarlett already has a scout on the third I don't know if you noticed that none of the adapts have attacked yet so I'm warping in that many adepts is not a particularly weird thing to do this is still building probes behind it so it's not some sort of all in but this is supposed to catch Scarlet somewhat off balance but right now she's looking pretty steady as already a dozen Roaches on the field the adapts will shade in uh more of them following actually will commit to the shade here but in more than enough roaches Lair is not just not done it it just started a few moments ago so the Adept will commit to the mid to the and we'll cut through some of the zerglings try to slide into the main here so far so okay not not the ideal shade in I think I'm trying to call a bit of a bluff there but ends up losing six adapts for 24 zerglings The Chosen targets of the adepts of course whenever they get the opportunity but at the same time uh losing the Adept means they no longer have to be considered a Potential Threat obviously and losing a critical mass of adept means Scarlett can potentially counter-attack so that's something disc is going to have to watch out for but still building probes behind all this remember still building up the economy the infrastructure more gateways blank plus one on the ground the oracles continue to look for opportunities to get damage or at least Scout and there's nothing to really challenge them at the moment so I wouldn't be surprised to see them stick around for quite a while and then Dives in towards the sport takes a lot of damage of a queen gets two drones but Scarlett has 70 going on 80 here she's going to be in a very comfortable position drone wise discus is reaching out for a fourth Nexus not particularly slow but definitely not rushing in here those circling spots it immediately Scarlett who already has a fourth comfortably gaining a fifth any macro hatches infestation pit is on the way and honestly that could that could go any and all directions in fact infestation if it's so important Scarlet builds a second classic move uh well clearly showing the trajectory she wants to go here this is so you can upgrade pathogen glands and neural parasite at the same time winter don't you know anything that's my bed I apologize for not realizing how ideal the play was oh canceled the second infestation pit unfortunate oracle's head in towards the main we'll see the hive already start by the way that's a ridiculously clear prize eight minutes gonna be done right around nine Oracle comes in Burns through a few drones the other one taken out by the Spore Queen combo Brenda all right one HP is there another queen no what flavor of late game is this going to be from Scotland are we gonna see ultralisks probably not to start there is no hydrogen thus no lurked Aspire begins brood Lords like I said you'll see those dramatic decisive strategies from Scarlet even if they're not the ones you'll see from anyone else I guess a transition into mutas is on the table but oh beautiful force fields from disc golden the line so far but the corrosive bottles are thrown up and knocked down the force fields opening up the path for the links and veins another round is so far doing an incredible job of not only locking the units out but locking them in and the force fields create this this quarantine Zone where he's able to isolate and kill a large swath of circlings but still Scarlett has had 200 Supply adrenal glands for the increased attack speed the single largest damage upgrade for the zerglings I hear at Hive Tech they rip apart buildings uh even without the plus three attack and of course anything else they can get their claws on disruptor shot hit the field ravager sir a second disruptor has hit the field and down goes a couple more roaches Scarlett getting boxed in here by the blank stalkers The Immortals will give them a little space to breathe and stay alive here but overall disc is handling as well keeps the Nexus keeps the Nexus alive only loses Shields greater spiers on the way but disc a a comfortable and capable Gateway Army control and Scarlett has to rebuild roaches will will shut down the Zealot counter attack from the war prism in the top left the last two melee attack is nearly complete plus two ranged attack still a ways off adrenal glands is nearly done greater Spire just begun disruptors and zealots for disk Scarlett is trying to encourage this sort of at best stalker Army there's a there's very little other anti-air and stalkers are not a particularly great unit when a bunch of uh cracklings are on the field those adrenalines with plus two and now there's plus two melee attack on pain links which allows them to One-Shot probes signif only two shots on uh two mainling explosions to take down High Templar or sentries and I believe it's just four for zealots don't let the legacy of the Void cinematic fool you oh my rolling in out of those probes won't be getting out blinks in getting down Mr probes but honestly the bailing's doing okay against the stalkers as they're all jammed up against it warpers have been to the main Queens are chasing the prism zealots chasing the Queens and eventually the zealots will slice apart enough of the queens that uh they're no longer able to challenge but the greater Spire is spotted alongside all these drones in the main that are being slaughtered now sliced and diced by the very capable plus two attack Zealot 25 more banglings for scarlet rolling into the natural oh no well there's not even a unit in the wall but Scarlet finds more targets chasing down the probes maybe a bit of a mistake there but so many erupters on the field right now no brood Lords yet for scarlet shaping up to be a great game already is but getting even more dramatic Oracle the one HP Oracle still alive psionic storm is on the way for disc I'm not sure how many high Templar are with the army shield battery holding the line at the natural not many units behind a shield battery overcharge is used but not quite enough Gateway Army looking very strong for disc a few storms alongside that maybe plus three Scarlett is still unconventional zerk disrupter Chase is the bearings and knocks out a chunk of them great hit there how many veins down that's kind of a weird damage report oh the storm protect the Templar and they merge within them but the oh the zerglings just rip apart the archons before they can ever even finish emerging 50 more zerglings are already in the production tab as those first ones that were stormed away are replaced plus one carapace as well the disruptors tuck into the minerals until the blink stalkers can come in and defend them flyer attacks level one is about to finish even though there are no Flyers yet bailing's crashing in force fields to try to protect this still holding up Scout has so much money in the bank right now how much a larva uh significant about less you literally can't spend her money at the moment which may give disc an opportunity he's only got eight Gates both sides suffering from something of a lack of production because their economies are just too damn good this early trading surprisingly well with the stalkers despite the numbers what do we have back here roaches still finding a handful of probe kills assuming you can fit three or four probes in your hand which I mean big hands I disruptor shot finds a couple roaches looking for uh curves it right back in but here come the circle hangs on top of everything making a difficult disruptor is not so good at Point Blank Range because that's where all your units are and friendly fire is very much in effect but disc manages to take out Scarlet's most forward base when she very unlikely expected to hold on to zealots all in the top left forcing a few units to chase him down who's flanking who here near the Third as the blank stalkers have blown forward chase down a few more roaches and Scarlet doesn't seem like she has enough to really challenge this Army heads up but then all the roaches and loons are coming together zerglings on the back disruptor shot clip some roaches that the zerglings are closing in from every side try to fight a Target but the circling slip away and with just roaches and Lings Scarlet is able to drive the stalkers back a severe lack of archons of high Templar a real reliable Splash damage now a Colossus even disrupters an eye template on the way for this there's a zealot that keeps racking up the kills over here this 15. I had a some obscene amount well a bunch of high Templar being added in the building a very solid mid-game protoss Army yet against disc problem is we're not quite in the mid game anymore Dorothy we have graduated to late game upgrades so your the stalker disruptor Army is good add some high Templar it's better thing is Scarlet has has still not she's got fire attack level two is she looking for like a 25 muta switch or something building a single corrupter right now I think because she's busy staring at that warp prism in the back corner plus three flyer attack saving the flyer attacks for a rainy day which seems like not the best time to start flying but there are plenty of storms 35 more mainlings on the way as Scarlett winds up for another wave disc as hell counter attack honestly discus is looking very solid but is it solid enough more band lights other than the bottom right a saint gobindling is enough to kill those probes 14 more problems go down and just like that disc is down to 46 of them Shield battery overcharged but the Zerg are coming for the natural the stalkers are holding the line other enough there's not a storm but with a recall disc is barely able to warp it at home holding holding and Scarlett still doesn't have anything past these very hatch and layer Tech units though they're so really truly embracing the Zerg there are so many of them that Eddie just can't quite Kim honestly I wouldn't mind a a Colossus or two in this Army right now something to guarantee damage against the zerglings even if it is quite an expensive paperweight against everything else more warpins at the natural looking for an opportunity Scarlett is is making the bandlings worth at the high Templar water balloon not quite as cost effective takes down the pylon is there enough for a storm the high Templar is not going to make it storms of bandlings one banding survives Scarlet's creep is already encroaching on disc spaces and things aren't really getting easier from here so far Scarlet has has not really looked particularly threatened there's been a couple base kills that were difficult but as we see in so many of these ground-based protests versus xerx it looks like we're going into a half-hearted base base trade scenario the question will be whether Scarlet actually ends up trading more than one base Oracle back at home the last line of defense was the first unit built for the most part I guess maybe besides an Adept or two plus three flyer attack is about to finish there is one corrupt that is the most Decked Out corrupter not a single other flying unit has plus three attack just waiting for that moment with the muta switch at this point I'm convinced it's for a muta switch as not even attempting the brutes the thing is if disc was able to hold a little bit more strongly maybe turtled up or or went to Sky toss which he didn't he stayed on this ground Army but Scarlett is perfectly ready to make 20 corrupters to deal with carriers right now but she doesn't need to uh as there is no air Army just the conventional ground units Lings Mains disrupters shot tries to deal with the roaches not gonna be enough blank stalkers scrambling to defend beautiful storms out of disk trying to keep it together Scarlet getting caught in an awkward path and both players not quite sure where everything's going right now but Scarlett ends up pulling back from the fight and loses a lot of units in the process disc definitely coming out way ahead in that fight but another wave well losing another base 16 drones down Scotland has one or two more big reinforcement waves and then she's pretty much out of money and these disrupter shots are on the money right now as another volley comes through another shot Point Blank Range double barrel looks for more Scarlet dipping heavily in Supply so is disc of course during all this uh with the disrupter shots exhausted the hero Oracle taken down by the plus three corrupter but zealots to reinforce and disc still has enough to trickle across some Gateway units and he's recharged the disrupters there's still three rupters on the field but the longer time goes on the better it gets for scarlet oh I know I can't believe it's come to this Scarlet committed to that mid-game army and well disrupter catches a ravager the disruptors keep gaining value the problem is the economic disparity here as well that's about as dramatic as it gets as Scarlett has had the income lead in a pretty significant Scott is at 780 average APM which you know seems a bit much oh my God wow I mean buildings are links takes a lot but that is uh White a bit disc didn't quite go for the win well felt like he couldn't push forward but a problem is now at the end of the day Scarlet just keeps reinforcing the Zerg aren't quite endless but they're pretty damn close and the roaches are closing in disrupters taken out and without them there isn't the opportunity to do that critical damage game one we'll go discard it quite a decisive match by the end but disc holding on strongly just not strongly enough a good defensive protest but the real struggle is getting to any key part of the creep getting up a ramp anywhere and at the end of the day the reinforcing waves of I should have looked at the units lost have because I'm sure it was devastating for Scarlett she was clearly losing so much more but as long as you end the game before the map is mined out that's irrelevant dessert don't care about how many they lose they care about how many fill their place and that brings us to Neo Humanity foreign just an extended mid game from both sides unable to get I I still don't know I I'm assuming that was Scarlet's kind of a fallback strip against Sky toss like the carriers show up and you literally have no anti-air with ravagirling mainly there's there's no way even a single carrier will eventually kill all those units so I think the the greater Spire wasn't a mistake but instead a plan B if if it ends up being Sky toss you build a couple dozen corrupters wipe it out of the sky melt their bases and work from there uh quite an expensive investment but also there was there was some value in it being scouted you see a greater spire you're all ready [Music] uh kind of feeling like you're on a timer and disc definitely scouted at least the Spire with the zealots so and that's what probably prompted that that feeling of well I just got to keep going for the mid game Army because Scarlet's already ahead of me when we go to air stargated is not as a not a surprising Choice there was the attempt at the glaive The Depths last game which was kind of a non-starter uh ended up probably hurting more than it helped just slowing down the rest of the tank though I don't blame I don't blame him for the attempt disk nope no photo up there Oracle Oracle stick into the standard fancy protoss guns more like laser beams single Adept Scouts gets a beat on everything now important to note Scarlett was able to take her natural that naturally is so important for peace of mind there's a reason why protons players almost uh in almost every game they will try to block it with a probe and it's very simply uh most early protos builds become a lot more difficult anything to put pressure on a certain makes a lot easier just to consolidate your Queens have them all in the right place at the right time ah when they're on the two closest bases so the oracle meets two queens finds a single drone kill which is about as much as it expected I have to assume oracles being added just two for now it's a forge before any other deck correct yes good Oracle micro here sliding through burning across the countryside in the mineral lines seven drones and gets out with both oracles pretty beautiful Stutter Step micro there the best Stutter Step microwave oracles was when it looks like they're firing while moving and that was immaculate there are some definite tricks to it um oracle's well known as a very finicky unit you can really tell when uh what a player as practice their Oracle micro at for probably many many hours especially if it's a the one unit that is used in all three matchups quite reliably it's twilight Council plus one is already on the way blank will join in the production tab layer and plus one melee for scarlet who expands forward to the rich vespine base right in the center of everything bit of a greedy play though those are my thoughts on the matter are they the zerglings dive in towards the Third get I believe one broke no none probes which is not very many so far disc is playing a perfect game not we saw some gateways just replacing them in a in a better spot coming together oh who did this who took down half of the HP on the rocks that drop into the bone Trench lots of bones in that trench all zerk General how do you know that did you go are you are you an archaeologist shut up Terry says that's boring science stuff where was oh colossi this time around I like it so colossae are your auntie Zergling anti-bain link they don't actually do extra damage against bandlings since bandlings contrary to popular belief are not light units um but they just don't have a lot of HP so they have even less zerglings have 45 bailings with speed have 35 mainlings without speed of 30. so that's what it feels like they take damage to everything because it doesn't take much more than some emotional damage to kill them or themselves Road speed plus two melee disc still playing a perfect game the only minerals lost were canceling a Gateway and replacing it but Scarlet despite the slight Supply block as the Richer is that 86 rounds uh-huh that's a lot I mean discus 75 I guess we're playing a macro game this time around but Scarlett has 85 at eight minutes I think that even beats dark's record at least in recent tournaments I saw 82 at eight minutes from Duck but um happy to be wrong all right we gotta check it out got a fact check I will fact check live um AKA World cast more dark series as well like And subscribe extended thermalance complete very important for for keeping those colossae tucked away at least until vipers come out Scarlet now building up full four base saturation 88 drones belonging forward is this with the first two colossae here plus two attack is on the way is there a war prism already out I know there's one in production so but wants to get out in front here and actually a great time a whole bunch the entire dinner is being morphed here a variety platter of ravagers links and veins they're going to try to break through a beautiful stasis Fields oh nothing makes a better force field than Stacy zurgling so literally nothing can get through that no matter how much you corross about so disc is hitting this incredibly oh the colossi the colossae can walk on top of the stasis circlings oh juggling the colossi back beautifully done I'm sorry like I'm working on unfortunately wanders into a corrosive bile but I'm learning so much I never really even thought about that bandlings are rolling in though the first economic Damage Done by Scarlet is potentially critical as 23 probes are slaughtered but is there enough back at home for scarlet to hold the line mandling's rolling in yet again but no real good targets for him here the colossa in the back line adding a lot of DPS the blink stalkers roaches continuing to be produced not so many of them out in front Scarlett's still had 88 drones though this gonna help her out with that incredibly High number oh down goes a Colossus the war prism I believe now there were prism is intact the warpers are a lot further back not microwave with the colossi but the blank Stocker micro was good charge is now complete could warp in another round of reinforcements but it looks like the blank stalkers are going to trade well enough for disc to break through I did not know you could walk colossi over stasis circlings I mean now that I think about it why not they can walk over regular zirkland but that that has some really cool implications that disc took great advantage of in that last fight and now Scarlet is suffering uh the result of those implications now the Colossus how many kills 38 of them just blink stalker Colossus straight out of 2010 here with a couple oracles that have not even two HP between them okay I like they have oh that one has plenty that was just the energy bar corrosive biles these only plus one roaches and ravagers she does have a hive done but no vipers on the field to deal with this directly trying to Target down that last Colossus just the amount of damage it's adding in Scarlet you never want to be even on Supply with a Gateway Army protest it's just going to eventually grind you down and disc with that beautiful stasis feel makes his way through just some really solid play there great timing skeleton probably regretting letting him uh sit back for quite so long but I gotta say just found the timing and stuck with it very decisive uh Scott look I maybe got a little greedy may be committed too much to a counter-attack harder to honestly a story of just great execution there well done and that thankfully brings us I say thankfully for Content purposes into game three it's gonna be angresvin the top left Scarlet redsurg in the bottom right is discs blue protoss [Music] pretty closely matched here so far even the game on Ancient Cistern definitely could have tilted the other way I I'm wondering about the lack of colossa in that game because clearly worked to great effect here yes they are vulnerable that may have forced out the corrupters as well on Ancient Cistern but the colossae are a very Niche unit in protons versus Zerg as they are they don't do too much better than disruptors or archons they are explicitly for huge groups of circlings and bailings just forcing the issue in a way that disrupters can't because once the disruptor shot fires well there's another 20 seconds or so where uh these are can move with impunity and disruptors are arguably less effective against zerglings because one the zerglings are not really a key Target to hit and two the circles are probably going to be close to your units and the disrupter also hits them so making it quite a double-edged grenade well a dramatic series thus far the decider match I assume will be very similar Stargate begins and another Point disc not able to unless you know there's been there's been a rash of new build orders going along uh I'll be uh here's a we're gonna break the fourth wall for a moment the reason why we skip into the games especially the first game is because that is statistically proven to be the most important way to get people to keep watching all right so thank you you may have subconsciously been um involved in that or or a committed and amazing viewer and your your breath kick okay your breathtaking but uh which means we we sometimes miss the very tiny details the start of the matches that I I really like but um are usually very similar especially in protoss versus Zerg which is of the non-mirror matchups probably the most I'm trying to come up for a better word than stagnant as for protoss you're essentially forced down the Stargate Road or you open up too many detours for dessert whereas dessert essentially gets cyberbullied by cyber core units until they have enough Queens to defend and either use those Queens to attack uh or build up an economy of like a Richland Bank not that it's not fun to watch not that it's not exciting but in terms of of build orders and meta protons versus Zerg is is reached quite a mature State as it currently stands there that's another nice way to put it I like that one better mature it's aged it doesn't want to change anymore it's a conservative matchup all right it's kids don't talk to it really it likes to watch a lot of those weird YouTube videos that for some reason YouTube recommends it with with people who pretend to be philosophers but are really just trying to make a buck but instead um We call we just say mature okay foreign two oracles on the way it's not going to come as much of a revelation for either player but last game honestly a lot of momentum was was gained or at least uh Scarlet's momentum was was reduced by the Slick Oracle micro killing seven drones before 50 are out and keeping the oracles alive definitely slowed down the rest of the build and made discs eventual timing potentially way more effective as 30 more seconds and Scarlet very likely would have had Hive Tech kicking in maybe even able to get a Viper uh or at least have all the ravagers and bailings to a deaths sneak into the natural oh wizard links get a wrap around a couple more hatcheries on the way fourth and a fifth six Gateway is Blink plus one I will say this with this consistency besides the kind of awkward waves timing and even then still really sticking to I just talked about how PBZ has figured out but there are still a lot of players especially in shorter series and the latter being the greatest example of this and and thus the over representation of protoss on the ladder but they will try to find a gotcha like surprise 28 adapts like or some sort of crazy build like that and occasionally it can work uh you might even be able to sneak away a couple games off Scarlet not that I think last game was a sneak of any kind I'm just saying like but disc on the other hand going clearly for the most macro oriented place I love this wall off here the pylon the blocking out any units or well the pylon powering the gateways that block out the units but the power on is the PowerHouse the proton so uh it gets the credit plus one ground weapons done for both sides uh melee in Scarlett's case [Music] disrupters and extended thermal glands so are we going to see a couple disruptors on the double Robo which I really like the double Robo and then uh colossi behind it interesting oracles burn through a queen eight height it's going to be a hydrolis based Army this time which makes colossae better potentially there's Templar archives on the way Scarlet 89 drones War prism chilling in the back don't talk to me or my friends every Observer crawls parade and the link stalker's answer so much detection here but the stalkers themselves have to be a little careful as Scotland has more than enough links and hydras to pounce on them extended thermal Lance was canceled which is a very curious call I think disc is expecting uh lurkers saw the hydras but these are actually just just it's a Hydra bit just a lot of hybrid we're gonna see Stargate Fleet beacon on the way heading towards skytos got it forced to cancel the Hatchery but [Music] a whole lot of hydraulic vein so many zerglings on the field so many zerglings throughout this 800 APM for scholar uh jeez well stasis all over the place disc only has 60 army supply right now building a fleet Beacon building plus one air disruptor shot a warning shot for now as the hydrogling Bane manages to get away their carriers in production but Scarlet is maxed out she doesn't even have hey hi instead it's just straight up mid-game hydrauling Banks one Mainland gets through plus two melee means that seven probes will go down another round Matt oh the disrupter shots blocked by the stasis not quite this energy looking for but the bailings so many bailers everywhere at the disruptors and some held for later the prevailing preservatives oh my God Scarlet probably thinking this this time around because like yeah well I didn't want to use them all now is it nice to have some for later put them in the freezer for a bit take them out he got some nice cold bailing next morning leftover baitlings is everyone's favorite snack except the protoss because they don't have mounds and also they die which you know if I could need bandlings in the morning I probably would as well but 41 probes obliterated annihilated and this loses his fourth he lost all the probes at his third carriers will arrive in a world a post-apocalyptic protoss World which is like half of them but I and Scarlett maintains 200 Supply refilling the Army infestation but on the way just in case in case somehow she bungles another round but so many more zerglings oh the hydras not particular disruptors don't find the mark probably regretting canceling those extended thermal lenses at this point disc with a massive misread and that illiteracy translates into Scarlet's overwhelming victory two close games and then Scarlett comes in with a steel bailing from the top rope well that I I won't lie to you and say that last game was close that Scarlet I think was a bit angry especially at the turtle toss that was being shown yet again comes in and just wipes the field with the paintings oh this though I gotta say putting up a great series uh just one like for pro toss making the wrong call on Tech is potentially game losing and we've never well rarely do we see it as dramatically uh uh shown as a dramatic an example as we had here well congratulations to Scarlett um thank you to ESL for always sending out the games thank you for
