Salty Tribe Homeschool [Half] Day in the Life

you [Music] [Music] [Music] all right I hate a clock I'm Way past like when I came out in this my water last a hydrating always thirsty I'm making the kids Mentos for tomorrow it just makes lunch go so much quicker and I'm actually lazier than you think so I don't make lunch so we have these nice bento boxes and only problem that I was having is that we only have one each for the kids and these are kind of pricey I guess so we got so here goes which but I ordered 20 of these like heavy duty trying to use plastic but I really just needed to just stick to a budget and these are I think there were 16 or $70 20 of them so they're like meal prep so I'm going to make some lunch and I'll show you when I'm done putting it all together never getting this afraid Oh whole-grain pasta and from dinner and then always these are English muffins by food for life and this is seven green so they're really super good for ya and so this is hazel spade which it's not good for you it's the copycat nothing it's okay and those are hemp seeds oh just packs in any special protein and peanut butter and then I'm just gonna slice up some banana and put the slice in there so it's like a hazelnut peanut butter banana protein sandwich and so I'm just gonna give you a little look even though I'll show you what I'm done but so we have little mandarin oranges some local fish crackers some ranch dressing for their celery this is a kale salad so it's kale with lemon juice and maple syrup and you just massage it all together and then just put in there and actually tastes really really good and this is Alfredo whole-grain pasta and so ever it has the same thing and always already showed you what her little sandwich thing is but all the basic same things so those yeah relish tomorrow this is that whole-grain table alfredo pasta and broccoli that's leftover from supper I want me to eat all that one sitting I'll probably do two and I'll cook up some more broccoli because I got some fresh broccoli that I like to cook with it because it just tastes so good and if you've been watching my ice cream stories you know that I've been obsessed with Berkeley there's pregnancy and this is that simple kale salad it's so good so you just tear up the kale in little pieces put some lemon juice which I forgot to buy lemons so I just used lemon juice and this may be sore and you were saj it all together and it tastes really yummy and simple so there we go that's what my lunch is tomorrow it'll probably have some a car you have one of those Mainers and I'm gonna grow a third arm and open the fridge belly Monty worms hmm all right right there in front of the key here however you want to help me get all this stuff put away Thanks so tomorrow it's Tuesday June 30th sorry so dark in here I'm not turning it on let's see Bible this is for Everett so he's doing Bible for kids app and we're doing theology theology for English she's doing McGuffey reader and handwriting her Matthews doing math lessons for living education I think that's it so tomorrow for Aubrey she's doing her keys for kids app and then we all do theology together and then finance with Dave Ramsey and teaching textbooks lesson two because that just came in today so the kids are really excited about going back into teaching textbooks and aren't we are doing watercolor painting day one of this book here everyday watercolor we're basically going back to the basics to really learn some awesome skills for water coloring which we all love doing does that mean it's day one there's 30 days in there and then social studies she's doing her Waldorf lesson three and it's a floor plan are two days so she'll have fun with that for writing she's doing essentials in writing listen for and reading she's doing messy online and then she'll probably do some readers or read whatever she would like to read always my dyslexic severely dyslexic you know so he's almost 11 but she's doing fantastic lately so this is Lorelai my ninth grader so for Bible she's doing one of her little delicious that she's got on the Bible app and theology which we do together and then English she's doing essentials of writing I was in for and essentials and literature listen for sometimes she does both of those and getting the beautiful and sometimes we alternate getting beautiful with these because we are trying our essentials in writing and essentials and literature and essentials of writing for Aubree too to see how that were students so far so good math is Dave Ramsey finance so the girls do that together it's the home school middle school thing because when we started it little I was in school teaching text books Algebra one she's doing listen to and then the watercolor painting and then for science she's doing chapter five chapter us an entire chapter five where she boy and she doesn't do the actual worksheet we go over them together and then usually she'll do some kind of art notebook game [Music] you [Music] because I should add that yes I don't have a coffeepot [Music] [Music] look like this early in the morning a bit of how so typically I get up earlier and yeah I just feel a little off and I'm not up really it's a really really dark outside and have some coffee while listening to Joyce Meyer if I didn't write in the kids notebooks the night before this is another do it but I already did that last night that's goes back in [Music] you [Music] [Music] and I forgot okay I shouldn't do the things before I drink the coffee [Music] I do greet my children truthfully every day because I feel like they should start the day off with someone talk to them cheerfully ever always asked me every morning he asked me how did how did you sleep mommy which is so sweet and he asked me if I felt the baby move I almost had his name the baby's name we're not sharing the name yet [Music] [Music] also I'm like like 17 18 weeks pregnant ona and I haven't even or the belly pick because I look exactly the same as I did when I was 13 weeks who's up good morning how'd you sleep Sundance is very very happy to see you I wish I could turn this around Sarah's so excited to see you [Music] [Music] not making it the girls having in their own laptops because missus really helped get math done and those lap desks awesome lower last working on October 1 two point O teaching textbooks so Matthew C works great I just with the baby coming and everything I just need something that are doing completely that I can just check and every what you're working on he's doing math lessons for a living education I'm gonna be honest I think this is just I maybe have like a board it's fine alright which one do you like better but I do you like math lessons for living education or math you see which one's your favorite this one okay yesterday he did math you see alright why do you like this one better it's more fun is it because it has like color color pages in it Matthew C has the own videos do you like the videos not really the video is from Matthew see did you guys find the videos helpful in math you see really yeah I thought their help I noticed you never watch the videos yeah but that's cuz you you're a math person Laura and I needed like instruction you didn't find it to help not really like cuz when I watch it I was like wow we make so much sense so does teaching textbooks help with that then there's gonna be fractions today prepare yourself Oh where's your math yeah this is the Lorelei's using and so it just helps to have the box and these aren't expensive so we do not do the workbooks with math you see no one more time not teaching excellence we don't buy the books we just buy the discs because the workbooks are expensive for no reason and it's because you just I don't know I just found them useless so we just use graph paper yes exactly thing is still blossom [Music] got some new pencils because we were always out of pencils they always disappear because a ghost keeps taking oh it goes thinking I think those things are over and over and maybe you in something it [Music] [Music] handwriting without tears it's just the letters and numbers we only do handwriting twice like an official curriculum I just do print letters and then cursive the choppers drink and that's it everything else here otherwise is just like a regular copy what the dictation they don't mean anything extra this is mcguffey's eclectic covers that this this gets good job for some of those words that's good all right we're gonna do the sounds little short box a good job this is a has a nest in the box she has eggs nuts a cat sees the nest and can't get up can't get the eggs okay so how this is you would do this over and over if they really didn't get the words until they got it until they can read through this fluently and each one with the hair readers builds on the one before it so definitely start at the beginning and you can fly right through them but these are you know old school agents gonna just work really well even with my dyslexic child they welcome issue and so you just keep reading on and he loves the words from before so he doesn't need to review we just keep going through the book oh yeah that's how it works very very there's look after your readers win every time a narwhal and jelly book Narwhal unicorn see this is the first one she had it in paperback originally she lost I don't know where that is but but the cycle is we have a card cupboard so we want it in hardcover from now on and so yeah we're gonna leave this I love these these are so funny and so cute love these books they're right there awesome there's a third one coming out in March and they're awesome though people always ask me whatever it does when the girls are school that's what he area does my sensory kid it's only like ten thirteen but everybody's hungry for lunch [Music] [Music] so it's supposed to actually um add my purple cabbage and blueberry says completely forgot so the solids no more colorful because the first time I made it I just tasted every didn't like the kale salad every would you say he said I can't handle it tone to spit out but he couldn't have dessert he ate all celery but he didn't like the kale salad he likes kale chips will make kale chips but he may like the kale sighs yeah so I told him to spit out he was just storing it in his mouth it was like I can't handle it he's so funny it's delicious the rest of us are eating it yeah I'll repeat French dressing on it which sounds really will make Kilcher side of it what's on your face she's got a red rash on his face and the girls used to get this whenever they ate ranch I don't think that you can eat ranch buddy you can probably just eat the vegan room because there's something in ranch but you should make the kids the girls break out and now efforts don't eat the ranch everything [Music] [Music] hey buddy get ready come watercolor with us something you're gonna come watercolor with us hey baby [Music] [Music] all right we're gonna start you guys ready yeah yeah okay so day one everybody wanna come step one warm up with lightning a hue for the very first daily painting you will be making basic marks on the page called swatches the idea is to go back and forth in a parallel angle or zigzag motion until the painted area is roughly 1/2 inch square using the belly or width of your round brush will cover a larger area much faster than using just the tip the example here is a swatch of Windsor and Newton Prussian blue watches and he chest you black first wash you did the purple now I'm doing like so this is the example in the book swatches this is just the first I'm not digging I still have lots of space to do I start over with one over I like natural hair brushes so once it dries I'm gonna wipe this off alright then I switch these I just love these paint brushes better and I just dip them in water like very like a brush as you know they help their water loading brushes oh yeah yeah just because we're using a specific technique of dipping the paintbrushes in the water and so that's why you don't want to squeeze the water out of that and every distance what is - I I did this kind of gray color Vera Wang outpouring folds oh cool more about your picture this is like flowers but throwing different color it's like spring and it's like blowing this is green grass understand coming look so you know it's a word that rain and flooded here and it's snowed on the other side of Canada but I'm also happy it did not snow here so I'm not angry maybe I forgot to tape over getting watching the video she was like boom I've got this it was really cute so sorry you missed that so here's a little work she thing goes with this what are you doing I already know all the stuff right here so all I have to do is complete the sentence and that's really easy cuz I did in the last one I think it's all that right that's what that would be with my laptop to make it easier to edit talk why because they're listening to their writing classes so we just have a few more things left to do today it's not even noon so we're almost done and the girls basically just have finance yeah we don't have much loved to do today yeah that's it I am exhausted I can feel the fact they only got like four five hours of sleep last night I'm so ready for a nap so after we finish school after finish my nights I'm probably going to take it instead of editing this video [Music] [Music] [Music] assumed in for effect like what saddens it hailstones ice it's once it reaches a strong downdraft and hopefully not hit you in the head or your windshield or the windows that the house [Music] one of the things that does is it does is like one minute thinking things and this one was for some types of information that you shouldn't share in social media and so it goes for like passwords where you live address names if I got all your personal information so it teaches great stuff do people your personal information to Stella well it's sad to say but in a lot of cases where people are victims of identity them they actually know that people who stole their identity like a parent neighbor or friend what straight now don't freak it out if you're like me I am super you have wonderful people in your life but it's good to be aware does this happen all I need is some of your personal information for example we've gotta be smart the other day I saw something let me pull this up here hey I just got a new cell phone here's my new number one two three four five six seven eight I know text me a number so I can put into my contacts innocent right yes but the kid just posted all of the most important pieces of personal information he has that can be dangerous here's another one I saw on Instagram woohoo I'm heading off on vacation for two weeks beach son ocean and lots of relaxing I can't wait now I'm happy for him that's really awesome well what just happened they told the whole world that they're gonna be gone for two weeks when they come back all their stuff could be done not good and they talked about this be careful with your personal information on your birthday you're addressing your phone number those are all pieces of information that someone could use to steal your identity when it comes to social media be careful about what you share with the world pictures of the puppies the new shoes and all the vacation things after you get back on their awesome [Music] [Music] you [Music]
