[Music] you you you hey everybody its Carol saltbox stitcher I'm back for video number eight and it's December 31st New Year's Eve so that I give you a quick update I wanted to cover some different things kind of I'll be kind of all over the place I think so that's what I'm calling it eclectic end of year but I wanted to show you my some of my December finishes and then some of my favorite finishes during 2018 and then my plans for this coming year hopefully starting tomorrow because I think I'm gonna finish another piece I had thirty three point seven eight which means I have a piece that I'm almost finished with and I'm hoping by midnight tonight I'll finish it and then I can call it a finish for 2018 and it's that would make thirty four so I had thirty three finishes and this would be thirty four so I think I've talked about it before but I always write I'm not perfect about it but I try to write in my journal what I stitch on each day and I've had a lot of people ask and so I'll go over this again this is by needlework press and it's the needle workers in a needle work enthusiasts 20:18 book of days and I'll show you the 20:19 already got that one and it's it's basically just a calendar and for each you know day I try to write down what I'm stitching and then if I keep stitching on it the next in the next day then I'll go ahead and just draw a line and so that way I know what I've stitched and then over here in this space I try to put my finishes for that month so not everything I sit on during the month does it get done that month but anyway over the year and then I number it when I first started doing this I just put you know what it was and who it was by but the last cue that I've done I I'm trying to put the threads you know whether it's the called for or if I change the anything and the the linen that is so it's really just for me I don't think it'll ever end up in the museum probably but it helps me keep track and it's nice to go back and look at what I stitched I think I started doing it in early 20s maybe late 2016 early 2017 something like that so it's fun to keep track of you know when I stitch this is the new one 2019 and it just came out a little bit ago and you should be able to get it I know country sampler had it on their website and I think the attic has it too I'm sure they do so if you know if you want to keep track of what you're stitching and you know I also put other things you know like we had a trip to Disney I'll write that down or whatever so I mean it is a regular calendar so so this is the piece it's a whip but I'm gonna call it a finish because I'm hoping to get this done today this is I have this little part over here to finish this little section and there's another little house and a couple of motifs so I should be able to finish it tonight I'm hoping and this is also by needlework press and it's called in all things be exceedingly diligent and this was one of my mania starts and then I put it aside and got it out again no maybe a week or so ago as I was trying to after i finished stitching some the brain is lucky after i finished stitching the things I did in December which were Christmas I decided I wanted to go back and start I'm trying to finish some of my whips and I'll talk about that in a minute but since I'm talking about finishes I'm gonna finish talking about finishes got it okay so this was one of the pieces I did in November and it's finished but it's not finished finished I want to get some dams I like to do the cording in DMC obviously you use a lot of floss to do cording and so I want to get a cording that matches the letters I this is Mary Noel that's by with a needle and thread and she actually calls for the letters to be done in wood rose which is kind of a pinkish tea and Danish pink and I don't know my wood rose just I didn't really care for it so I changed this I was at first gonna do bake to Apple I ended up doing red pear by weeks I think and I it would have been nice to do the letters in red but if you do the letters in red then you have a problem because your bird is also red and it overlaps your letters so I ended up doing the red pear which is a pinky kind of a pinky red and then I just put a gold on the back and I just pinned this here because obviously I'm gonna put it away until next Christmas so in the meantime or want to get it out next year I'm gonna put according all the way around that matches the letters so this is Mary Noel by with I kneel on thread I did also change the bird because when I changed this to the red pair then I needed I needed a red that wasn't form G because it would have clashed with that so I did that in December and then this is another one that I did in December and that was filled with sawdust by the way this one is been really popular I farm girl I know she stitched it and she used the country sampler conversion because this is a brighter these are brighter colors like this here is kind of a teal and I want it to make it a little more primitive so I stitched it you can't really see they're very good but it's got black jumbo rickrack and a piece of green that I also put on the back and it's gonna be a stand up pillow cuz it's full of sawdust so it'll just stand up you know on a chair and I use the conversion from country sampler to do it it was really fun and it goes really really fast you don't think it would be a fast stitch but it is so that was really fun and I really enjoy it it's kind of hard to see with that black but the green is it's not real real dark and you have actually two different colors of green this is a more of a Bluegreen and then this is more of a yellow green down here so I tried to pick a green that has kind of both colors in there so that was fun and that's actually called horse country holiday and it is by artful offerings and if you want the country sampler conversion then call order the pattern from them and they'll send you the color conversion and then this one I stitched but I haven't fully finished it this is jingle bells this is a little bit of an older pattern and this is by Brenda Gervais again with thy needle and thread jingle bells what's the name of it and I finished this one and I did change I changed the red uh what did I change it to I think I had a pomegranate by gentle art that was pretty red sometimes pomegranates pink but it called travail Donnie and I didn't have it so I went ahead and changed the red and I did this on 40-count Coco by weeks the linen is 40-count Coco it's really cute it's not big and I think I think a nice little frame I think it would be cute but there again I have a whole bunch of things they're kind of hanging on like skirt hangers that are finished stitching but they're not framed or finished and so someday I'll just bring those out and show you all those they need to be framed or finished but anyway that was fun that was jingle bells and you know I like to stitch in the season so it was kind of nice to stitch on those during the holidays I kind of got myself really backed up on quilting I I was gone for the last two weeks of October or close to that and so when I came home I had a lot of quilting to do that I had that was here when I left and then I had a lot of people you know wanting Christmas quilts and so I I kind of got a little overstressed about it because you know it's Christmas there's a lot of things cooking and baking and decorating and shopping and cleaning and all of that and I didn't get any cards mailed out this year and I had wanted to so you know I I felt like I didn't get everything done that I wanted to but it is what it is oh but I did get a lot of quilts done and I still have I think I have nine in there to do and I told a lot of people that I was probably gonna take most or at least a good portion of January off because it just I you know I my age I don't want to get up every day and feel like I'm going to work and that's kind of how it got to be so but it was nice to be able to get back to my stitching every night because that's very relaxing for me so then this is the other Christmas piece I did this was a kit that I got when I was at country sampler in October Christmas in my heart by samplers not forgotten and this had a country's it was a kid and country sampler had changed a few of the colors not not a lot and they had the head of fabric in there that was I can't remember what it was but it was 32 count and I didn't want it that big so I switched mine to a 40 count and it's um I have a vent right up here looks like everything's blowing in the wind this is the coldest seat in the house if people you know are like get too cold we're like they're really freaky you know I'm one of those people likes the air I like it cold I like it cool in my house I live in Florida I think it's 80 something today they said it was gonna break a record cuz it was so hot so you know and my husband he walks around with a hooded sweatshirt almost let's do it's like I wish I had that problem anyway so it looks like it's blowing and it is anyway it says I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year 1843 I think that's it from Dickens Charles Dickens said that I wrote it somewhere these trees were really fun really fun and the point said is going all the way around so that was that was really fun but anyway I think I started to say I did it on 40 count cocoa by weeks and the last one that I just showed you I lied this is straw by week's 40 count straw is the color and this one is cocoa so you can see there's a different one's a lot colder okay so those are the things I finished in December so I thought I would show you out of my 33 finishes and those are included as part of them I'm gonna show you the ones that are my favorite and a couple of these are fully finished framed and a couple or not but these are part of the things I did in 2018 and if I can figure out how to do the best 9 on Instagram I would do that but that's that's too complicated I had to get I really had to laugh though because in my video I guess it was hohoho the last one I did and I showed a lot of Christmas things and I had this one piece that was by Plum Street it had a Santa and had a little reindeer on the bottom and I remember doing it but I couldn't find it and so I think I showed the pattern I said I know I did this but I can find it and I said maybe I gave it to somebody I don't know so some kind so like to comment I'm on my video that said yeah according to your Instagram you gave it how bad is that that is so bad that you can't remember what you did was stuff oh yeah yeah anyway where was I um my favorite finishes so here we go this one I think I showed you this in my last one but I need to get it fit I need to get it framed because I love it this is Mary betcha you know interestingly most of all these I think if all of these are scarlet house so thanks Tanya for all the games designs keep it up so this is Mary betcha I actually started this at the retreat amid the Midwest cross-stitch retreat and so it's finished here's what the pattern looks like scarlet house married that chill married bachelor 1810 that was I really enjoyed that and the colors on this are really wonderful they're really bright greens and reds and it was really fun to do so that was one of my favorites and then so I did that one in October November well end of October and then in November this is an peg oops upside down and this is also a scarlet house and this one I did I think mostly in September we see this is where my journal is nice cuz I can go and I can go back to my journal and I say okay I started on this day and I finished it on that day but here's an peg this is nice because it doesn't have any over one it has words but no over one so that's one of my favorites that's another one I'm going to send off soon to be framed and I had some friends that were at the attic when we decided to do this and so they actually picked out a conversion so we did it and so so that was fun so that's one of my favorites and then I did this one seems like chronologically I'm going backwards this one I did August and September and some of these you'll remember me showing you but hello this is this is like remember when they used to do or I don't know maybe they still do TV shows and they would you know like at the end of the season they'd have clips from all the different episodes during the year that's what this is recap so this is Rachel Howell 18:56 I love this I can't wait to get this one framed so and also by Scarlet house I guess I should have called this ode to Scarlet house love the birds I love it all it's wonderful so that'll go off to be frame soon the next one I don't know what I did this I'd have to look in my journal but this is Anna Anna grader and this is one I picked up when I was in Wichita she had no no I had somebody else that I sent this to that um frame did I think was by my hand needle works she has a Facebook page and so that's also integrator and it's just a plain black frame I love it love love love it that one's very fun and then these the other two I'm going to show you I don't know if I've ever showed you before also that's cold this one is Sarah Redfern and there's a few people out on in cyberspace Nicole's needlework and Brenda sampler stitcher Brenda sampler stitcher yeah I know they've done it I've seen it on their Instagram I'm really bad about Instagram posting I apologize I'm cbw quilts on Instagram but sometimes when I finish something I think well I'm not gonna take a picture right away because I'll wait until I get it finished fully finished or framed and then it'll come or I'll wait to get it done and then I don't post it and then I forget like I'm being framed that I'd never posted it so anyway I have a lot of things that I finished that I've never posted I don't I don't know if I ever posted this one or not but this is Sarah Redfern and this one I'm not sure Oh total framing in Virginia framed this one and this is one that I think the pattern picture just doesn't do it justice because if the colors are really gorgeous when you get closer and you get to really see I loved it I loved doing this one the border was really really fun so that was another great piece Danya designed try to keep them from crashing down then the last one I'll show you is another scarlet house this is Sara Elizabeth Brooks and this is another one that I've seen people have finished sorry about the glare to me you get a red house in a in a big lawn I am there I am visiting so this this is Sara Elizabeth Brooks and I love things like the fact that the little girl you know worked in the eleven year of her age and then she goes and Becks goes back and puts the th for eleventh and this one did have some over one I think I just did a tent stitch which is half of a on this one I think this was on 40 counts so sometimes I'm 40 count it's kinda hard for me to see so those are my some of my favorite finishes for 2018 and like I said I had others but those were something that really I thought were really special next thing I want to talk about is plans and the first plans that I really have are whips I keep feeling like I'm sliding down in my seat sorry okay so I did mania last year in May obviously and I didn't do like 31 starts I think I did maybe I don't know 20 25 and some of my finish I'm down to where I think I have fort 14 or 15 whips and some of them are really small one of them is fall and one of us Americana I'll finish those in no time but then there's some other ones that are samplers that are fairly big it won't take a little bit of time I'm not I'm not overly thrilled with starting things I think kit institure said this on her last video was I was called fibro fog I think was the name of the video um I like once I get into you know like where I feel like I know the color symbols by heart for the most part you know the common moves the ones that you're using a lot you're like oh yeah I know what screen that is I'll just grab it I like to wear if I'm doing the border first I get a rhythm and even though I try to always make sure I count because sometimes there can be variances in the borders you know I really like to get to the point where it's like okay this is pretty routine you know I'm I'm able to just keep stitching stitching stitching because I know I know where it's going from here and so a new start for me is I mean I enjoy kidding it and I enjoy getting it out and I enjoy you know dreaming about stitching but I really my favorite part is really um when I'm it's it's to me it's kind of analogous to a good book if you're reading a good book you have this just drive to finish it but then once you finish it you're kind of like oh I can't read it anymore because I'm done with it you know and that's kind of how I am with samplers you know I just I love being in the middle of doing a sampler it just so mania for me where you start and then you put it down and then you start and then you put it down I lose that rhythm and I think if I when mania comes around in 2019 I think I'll do all small things you know like pieces that'll be pin keeps or small-framed and that way I am not that far from finishing him I think I had a little blur anyway so for me I I probably won't do any samplers starts in mania maybe but I don't I don't know because some of these that I started I'm just like really want to get back to them and they kind of bother me that they're not finished and it also once I get back to doing it then I got to get back into that rhythm and all that but this is the pink house sampler by plum street and I've seen a couple people do that on their Instagram and I love it love it love it love it so here's the colors there's you know some Reds lots of greens one or two blues lots of Pink's this one has like a tail here anyway and so this is how far I am on it now when I start stitching tomorrow providing I get that diligent piece finished tonight I'm gonna pick one of these so I'm not necessarily going in the order that I'm going to stitch them but I'm definitely gonna pretty much sure I'm nice stitch until they're finished each one so this is where I am on the pink house sampler so I have a long way to go because it's a big one it has a big house so here goes again so I have a little bit of the border and that box right there done so that'll be fun it says the loss of a father is much the loss of a mother is more the loss of Christ is such no other can restore 1899 I like that okay so then the next one that I started in mania that I want to finish this is Eliza Mitchell by la-dee-da and this one I'm doing the one before that pink house is being done I think it's Old Town blend 40-count old-time Old Town blend with fancy floss gentle Arden weeks this is Eliza Mitchell and I'm doing this one on 40 count Confederate gray and I'm this far so see there's a there's quite a ways and I just I don't like having these not finished that's just me and this is all done with needlepoint silks I think I've showed me this right after mania some of these I showed you it's got greens and a few Reds tans for that one I definitely definitely definitely definitely want to get back to and then the other thing I may do it's hard to say their plans when you have a lot of maybe it's good might but sometimes if you concentrate on doing the smaller ones and getting those whipped out of the way you get more of a sense of accomplishment I think somebody said that if your debt and you you know need to pay off bills you start with the small bill first and you attack that and then you go to the next one so the next few are smaller this one is Quaker garden by Blackbird and I'm using the called for on that and once again I think this is a week's I use a lot of lakeside lemons but somehow I've got a lot of weeks in here which I like weeks it's okay so that's where I am on that one and it's at one of the smaller ones so I may pick it up first and finish it and some of them you know it's like oh my goodness I had no idea that it would go that fast this one is birds of a feather I've seen this done a number of times and I love it but you can't tell much about what I have done because I'm not into any of those bright colors so I've got the border done and I started on the ring for one of the brighter colors but it's not huge and again I think it'll go fairly fast it's just really different the next one I think it was Theresa showed this on her last video this is an Grimshaw which is a Scarlet Letter Quaker sampler and I know once I get down to the alphabet that's gonna go a lot faster but it's huge YouTube's huge okay stuffs gonna start falling on the floor so if you hear it just ignore it so this is my start on this one and Grimshaw 18 18 and I really like doing it and I'm doing it in black Gloriana we shirts Gloria yeah it's Gloria so that's when I'd like to work on and then again kitten stitcher showed her parlor series Jenny beans parlor series and she has the it's gonna be eight parts and she has she had four patterns out and she just released number five and I think she said the next few will be between now and market in March so um I bought the first four patterns and then as soon as she said the last one was ready I went ahead and ordered that one so I started this one again in mania and haven't touched it so I just have a really small start and of course this is this is a lesson in reading the directions cuz I just started the alphabet got the color just go go go and then it I read it and it said that whole large alpha was supposed to be eyelid stitches but whoops my so anyway that's gonna be a big one and that one I'll work on you know as long as I get a section done I'll feel like it's you know I'll finish me show you a little better this is the one that I've started the alphabet let's see which one is which here I'm not sure which one is I think I think this yeah this is part two that's because it says at the top bar to Carol Adam and Eve so you have the alphabet then you have Adam and Eve and then part three is Noah and I love these the biblical stories love it part four is the Good Shepherd and then the part five is the one that she just released is a verse so really looking forward to getting back to that one that'll be fun and these are the colors you know I'm sure as time goes that I'll be ordering more floss but these are what you start with good colors so that's definitely a plan and then if it's not December but by the time I finish all those then I have some other things that I just really want to stitch but because I'm letting my WIPs take priority I'm gonna wait until they're finished before I start on anything else with one exception I have forever and ever and ever in the day wanted to stitch and they send and actually the parlor series is gonna be I think about the exact same size so this is the chart and they sinned and it's upside down and this one is I have a friend and she's in our stitching group she's just about finished if you see it stitched it's like oh and then I knew another gal that used to work at the quilt store that I worked at and she had it finished so if you've ever seen it stitched it's like I just really want to do that so I decided this would be a good one to do every Sunday and I think I've told you before we come we go after church we go out to eat and then I'm home for the rest of the day I don't quilt I'm just plopped on Sundays so I would get quite a bit of stitching done on Sundays so I'm only gonna stitch on this on Sundays I mean it's Sunday you know and they send so I have a piece of linen that is fabrics by Stephanie and it's it's kind of hard to see but it's a really beautiful light color and so I'm really really really wanting to start that so this coming Sunday I'm gonna start and they send and I don't care if it gets till it takes me three years to get it done every Sunday let's see fifty-two Sundays two years would be 104 Sundays let's say 10 hours a day I'm like I stitch that much but let's let's see that's about you know what 10,000 hours surely I can get it done a man right I'm still alive so the next one I'm going to show you is just some ones that I want to fit into the queue because they're kidded there's some of many I think I talked about having Prairie school or ornament Envy so I'm gonna start with this one which was the very first 1984 I'm gonna switch it on khaki Davos that it calls for well the DMC so that's gonna get done be nice to do one a month but I'm not gonna be like oh no I didn't get one done and kill myself over so these are just in the next few that I'm going to show you these were just want to stitch the others are planned to stitch these are want to stitch Brenda samplers did sure she said she was gonna start this Jane Stanwix 1843 gorgeous red house this might have to move up to a will stitch yeah it's gorgeous look at that red house I could have a wall of red house sand flows there's people that do so anyway I'm stitching it on this which is cider mill Brown I think I think this is an R&R I'm not sure it was a kid and I'm doing the country sampler conversion so that will be fun this is the seven sheep sampler again by Scarlet house I'm gonna take this one on the bag it's too pretty not to see it up close and personal it's gorgeous there's people a lot of people that have finished this one this just looks antique to me and this one is a kit I'm not sure worried got all this stuff from and it's autumn gold by lakeside linens is it'll be dark but no I really like having different I think you can see on my wall you know that one's more creamy this is more why this is more gray I like the blend of the different sampler linens how they look I get so many questions about the wall and I think if you watch all my videos which I know would be tedious but I think I've mentioned most all of them the one right here at the top right there how'd he get your finger where you want it right there that's a blackbird and I think it's called Bluebird sampler was a loose feathers from a while ago this one is pink sparrow by with a needle and thread this one is Liberty House by with a needle and thread this one is I think it's a la de dah I can't remember the name of it this one is by Margaret and Margaret the Good Shepherd sampler the one down here that's the basket of flowers is a black bird I think it was one of the first loose feathers it's probably about three hundred dollars on eBay sorry this one that looks like that looks like it has two different sections is by words of praise and I think it's called the guidance sampler that's also by Blackbird the one way up there also by blackbird this one also by Blackbird and this one down here I've shown that before this is by with my needle you can't see it real well little Cardinals on the way on that tree and I've it's Hannah Cummings so um I think I might end up adding some video of some of my stuff I don't know my husband took some pictures so we'll see how I people wanted to see my house decorate for Christmas but I never felt like I got that coordinated good enough I either had decorations sitting all over the place or we don't entertain very much just family and you know either toys if something was out in the middle and it was like you don't live in a pristine showroom show-show house by any means so back to some of the ones that I really would like to do that are kidding I showed you the seven sheep this one is by GTR it's called red deer and I love this that deer the colors now you may say oh that is not cute but if you see it made up you change your mind because it's really really pretty and you know some samplers just kind of have motifs that are just thrown together like the big birds on Rachel how they end up making it you know and that what I'm gonna do on cedar plank linen buy lakeside with the called for the next one I know you've seen this one there's multiple people that have finished it and I have yet to start it never starlit house the Smith sampler I love that swung and the basket and little house down here oh I love it so that's another one that I have pitted and that one is kitted with the called for let's say darker when in meadow rube I think it's meadow it looks darker anyway and then it has a varying you know different silks dinky dyes bill slaws I'm telling you all these things call me I wake up in the night this isn't my husband I said so do you think this will be my legacy anyway duh I said well at least you know when I'm when I'm what's the thing when I'm dead and in the grave and all my bones are rotting you may see this so that I'm not forgotten life is just too fun this is the newest Blackbird merrily merrily we welcome spring I have it all kitted there's a couple people that have started it and I'm very very jealous because I mean gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous now that's a floss toss I think it's done on red maybe no it's done on not too open I think oaken you know you get a kit like this and you're like I don't take another bag it's just too pretty no maybe we could just decorate what's it like that the clips store we used to say that about fabric you know you'd get a bunch of fat quarters and put it in a basket and it's like it needs to make the quilt you just decorate with books okay this is the next one this is an right another one but oh no this is samplers not forgotten this kid I got from country sampler and it is summer khaki there again how beautiful is that it's just beautiful so and right by sample it's not forgotten it's not forgotten farm and then there's samplers remembered so sometimes it's easy to get all that confused but this is and right and then the last it's not last I have a humongous basket you know sometimes if you go to Whole Foods or Fresh Market or one of those grocery stores sometimes they'll have these like handmade baskets and they're pretty large they got the leather handles they're really pretty baskets well I have one like that's it's full its I'm 67 years is wrong with my brain this is the last one that I it's not the last one I like this is another one that I really want to do this is by GDR this if you watch my which video was it it was after the Midwest cross-stitch was the one where if you look at the picture on the video I'm holding a Minnesota cup Starbucks Starbucks Minnesota cup anyway they had it made up and I actually had a picture from that I took was that you're safer like that finished and it's it's like museum quality it's like I mean you know anyway so so that's some of my plans let's see what else do I want to do for 2019 I'd like to organize all my linen I have quite a bit of linen I'm guilty as charged I love like side limit lit lakeside linen and sometimes it's a little bit difficult to get so I periodically go on websites and if they have it I will order it either 36 or 40 count and I'll order either a fat quarter or fat half and then I kind of like I hoard it i statute because I love those pieces I also like Old Town blend by R&R and Confederate gray by tweaks there's quite a few linens that I like and so you know a lot of times it's hard to find them in the size and the count you want so I will buy a piece that's bigger than maybe I need and then I'll have it in my stash so that's one of the things I really want to do I want to organize my linen I have a not huge but a shelf unit it's it's in my long arm room and it's nothing to see because it's just crowded full of my cross-stitch supplies now I also have some other like I have another wooden box and I have a lot of black bird pieces in and you know so I have other things kind of stashed around I have some baskets with lids that I think that they're probably longer burglar baskets that I originally put some of my cross-stitch in so I have some old Aida and I have some older charts in that but this main cabinet I have most of my current cross-stitch and one of the things I did is I went to Ikea I know a lot of people don't have IKEA local but they built one here not too long ago and I bought these boxes now they come broke them down and then you you know pop them up then it's all like compacted inside the the lid and it has like a metal it's just a cardboard box but it has like a metal ring and I put projects both kitted or just patterns and I have I think ten of them ten or twelve on this shelf unit and I just labeled like this is all plum street so I want to get a couple more of those or linen and then I can put like lakeside in one or separate in my count I'm not sure how I'll do it but that's one of the things I want to do in 2019 the other thing is I want to make some more project bags cuz it's really nice for seasonal stitching to have like I think I showed them on one of my videos some like Halloween bags I can put you know all the Blackbird Halloween pieces that are kid and ready to go you know so if you have like five or six per season then you can separate out the seasonal ones and then just when the time comes and you want to seasonal then you can I can pick them out of there the other thing is I don't really stitch very much seasonal in spring so this will be the time I'll really get into doing some samplers because you know I've done a few bunnies I've done a few you know things like that but I don't like it's not like Christmas or Halloween or Marikana that I just like fill my house with you know so anyway I want to do that so though that's some more projects and I'm taking a little bit of a break from quilting for at least a couple weeks there's some things I want to just some quotes I want to make and some things I've started in quilting that I want to finish I think I have 35 quilts that are pieced but aren't quilted in my own closet of my own so you know it's like I need to get them quilted you know they're mine and you know I want to get them finished not that I need him but you know that so next thing I wanted to tell you just quickly I was going to talk about new stuff that I got and I didn't grab I was in the picture this plus linen of the Month Club through anyway some sample needle needle workers delight I think that's where I was getting it from anyway and I just got two pieces one was called Regency the color Regency and the other one was the leg legacy that I got this month because you get one a month until December and then you get two so you get 13 for the price of twelve so that was nice and then I got a couple of new quilt books and they're not new new well one of them's new new this is a brand new quote book hopes journey I really want to make this it's very scrappy and mm-hmm it's by Beth Betsy touching and she also designs fabric for Moda love love love that quote all those pieces and oh I love that kind of looks like my brain I'm miles an hour anyway love that want to do that this one is called the four by five quilt book anthology and it's just full of these block patterns that you can put together in a scrappy quilt if you go to instagram de Carol Craig oh she's a friend of mine in Orlando and she has hers finished and I was like I got to do that and it's the kind of thing when you sit down with scraps and you can make a few blocks and then just hang on to them and then you know when you get enough then you put it all together in the cold so that'll be fun um one more thing because I'm approaching an hour and enough is enough of me I'm gonna do better with giveaways I've been so blessed to have you all subscribe to my channel and I promise to give this away this is winter in Baltimore and I did kind of a I don't use the computer but I did a random kind of you know number thing and I came up with Darlene Baumgartner so Darlene my friend Darlene you're gonna get this pattern I don't think I have your address so if you'll Instagram message me or Facebook message me and give me your address I will send it to you all the way out and broken so congratulations you want fun next time I'll be back hopefully to show you some progress oh I have one more thing I want to talk about one more thing always turns into twelve you know so the last video I did I talked about it was almost our anniversary and my sweet husband blew me away because we kind of had this deal a few years ago cuz we've been married 36 years in November that this table makes money so I apologize because it's an antique and if you lean on it at all it makes noise that we would just start going out to a really nice dinner and not getting each other gifts because you know we're kind of at the age obviously back about whatever I want so we said okay let's just go out to a really nice dinner you know and just enjoy the evening and go on our anniversary if at all possible and so so we were about ready to leave and he said oh I need a gift bag I'm like no you know because that's not the deal you have to follow the rules and he said no I need a gift bag I said well better not be something for me because I didn't get anything for you because I followed the rules he's like oh just shut up get back basically so we went out to eat and before we started eating he gave me this bag well I think I've told some of you my husband he retired from Mayo Clinic and then he's taught and at a local nice we called junior college they don't call him that anymore for quite a few years he's caught anatomy he's taught medical terminology and all this so anyway so he has retired from all that he he teaches occasionally but he's not regularly teaching anymore so he decided to really wanted to get into woodworking he's always done a little bit of woodworking but he really wanted to get into working so he bought all these SuperDuper power tools and has been cleaning out the garage so that he can pull he's I mean these are like super duper in fact he's really into YouTube for woodworking so it's kind of funny so anyway he gave me the bag and I had mentioned that it would be fun for him to make me a like a block of wood that had different woods so it would kind of you know look really neat with holes in the top that I could put my some scissors so when I opened the bag I could smell the smell of stained and wood and all that so I knew he made me something so I was like oh you made me so I open the bag and this is what wasn't the hag now I was blown away because this is a shaker box and I love shaker boxes and it's cherry it's just stained I mean we're paying rubbed and all that so he said open it up so I opened it up and inside was the next smaller piece said open that one up so I opened that in the next smaller one said open that one up so I opened that one and then the next smaller one and inside the very smallest one he had had my diamond engagement ring reset so he'd be pretty good there's somebody that wasn't supposed to give me anything so anyway these are his shaker boxes this is size one to four and I think I I put a picture of this on Instagram so he said if anybody's interested I'm kind of interested in selling some making some to sell so not sure of a price yet but and he's not sure if he's gonna do it as a set or individually these are sizes 1 through 4 1 2 3 4 4 being the largest he's also in the process of making me a 5 and an acht so the ah'd which is fancy way of saying zero is smaller than this one so then there'll be six of them little staff if he sells them as a set he'll probably sell one to four and then five and art would be separately priced but we're not sure that he's just like just throw it out there see if anybody's interested so if you're interested in shaker boxes I think they'll be reasonably priced and he does a really good job and so I guess I'll keep him he like earned his keep so anyway so all that to say I hope you have a great New Year's Eve please stay safe we stay home I hope we might open a bottle of bubbly but other than that I'll be sitting home stitching and ring in the New Year with another stitch so I hope you have a good one Happy New Year love ya [Music] you [Music] [Music]
