[Music] you you you hey it's Carol saw pop stitcher how are you if you think wow she looks different I do because I got my hair cut finally and I go to a gal that is Lindsay my daughters it's a long person and um I've only been to her once before and so when I went before she said she did I had pictures she did just what I wanted which is normally a little bit longer than this and so this time I got an appointment and you know I'm it's the whole covin thing and um I said do you remember how you cut it last time she goes yeah pretty much and I said well let me show you one picture so I showed her one picture and I walked out of there with hair lots shorter but everybody says it looks fine so it's hair grows you know it's everything that's happening I'm not gonna worry about my hair anyway um and I have no makeup on which I usually try to wear some I don't work at home why waste it my husband knows what I look like but um tomorrow I wanted to hurry up and do a video because tomorrow I have to be at Mayo Clinic at 7 in the morning for my first cataract surgery so um we're in the drop you got to do lots of drops four times a day starting two days before I had to be covent tested uh yesterday yeah yesterday and it was really uh you can drive into Mayo Clinic and they have all these signs testing testing so it's like way in the parking lot as far out as you can go you go to one station where they kind of register you and then the next station is where which is another little drive to where they actually test you and these me I told my husband I said I believe them it's to the bubonic plague because people are like in hazmat suits and you just barely roll down your window and they stick you know with a rubber hose and it goes almost all the nut down your throat but to your throat and when she told me what she was gonna do I said Oh Lord I know I said that so anyway it didn't bother my throat didn't give me a sore throat but it made me want to sneeze I felt like you know hey all about to say that's where I am not wearing any makeup so I'm hoping I can they told me no close up work reading stitching anything for like three to four days after I have a dad and then hopefully by next weekend I can do a little bit of stitching and then I have to start the drops all over again for the second eye which I'm having on the following Tuesday so they're there a week apart so anyway hopefully all goes well and I survived it so anyway I'm really looking I'm not looking forward to the procedure I am looking forward to being able to see what I Drive it's kind of imperative you know so anyway I'm back and happy Memorial Day tried to wear a little patriotic hero red white and so here I am this is gonna be all over the board I have no notes but I have piles of stuff and it is what it is you know it's me so anyway if y'all met me in person you'd say well you're just like that you know sometimes you'll meet somebody and they're not at all like their philosophy personality but I think I am hopefully so anyway first thing I'm going to show you is some patriotic pieces it's hot here it's like almost 90 already in humid it's supposed to rain today okay back to where it was patriotic happy Memorial Day thank you thank you thank you to all those families that have lost loved ones that have paid the ultimate sacrifice and thank you for those that are still serving my son-in-law spent six years in the Navy in fact that's how he and my daughter met was he was the Navy and then when he retired from active duty or not retired but ended his six years in the Navy then he went into the Naval Reserves and he still is in the Naval Reserves and fortunately there's two naval bases here in Jacksonville so most of his time he spends is local so Thank You Aaron for your service I don't think you ever but thank you for your service so anyway um first thing I thought I'd show you is some of the things I have finished and framed that are patriotic now if you go back on some of my other videos I've shown these but sometimes it's kind of nice to see things and I have a lot of new subscribers that um possibly had not seen any of this before or whatever so please forgive me I don't know the names of all these I didn't get out the patterns I just thought I'll just do a little parade of some patriotic stitching this is one of my very favorites this is a little house needle works Liberty and I love this particular frame I've had quite a few things framed with this frame with the stars on it I think it's an east side moldings so you know not every frame shop carries a side moldings but I love this frame and it actually comes in different colors I think it comes in a black and a kind of brown tone but it's one of my favorites anyway Liberty I don't know that that's the name of it I love the little pennies down here looks like a little wool penny rug it was a very easy stitch and I love stars like this I actually have a wool someday I'll show it it's it's like punch needle but it's done with wool yarn and the needle is different and I think it's just called wool punch I've done I did a chair pad and I have another piece that's like a long piece it's has those same kind of stars and circles now hopefully I'm not going to end up knocking all this off you know you have to have a place for things to sit well before you show them and then you have to have a place or on the floor this is something I find myself it's not a great frame grand old flag pretty sure this is a blackbird but I think it was actually designed by Maggie banana me but she did it under the blackbird label did a long time ago again one of my very favorites I think I've heard this myself kind of looks like another one if you follow yard girl 60 on Instagram she's a fabulous quilter she's very well accomplished she's a good friend of mine susan aki she actually started this one and didn't like the darker colors and so she gave it to me partially finished and she said here you can have this so i finished it so it was kind of a collaboration between the two of us and shiri stitched it with like pinks and teals she's very has very coastal colors I'm more primitive so anyway I wish I had both of our initials on here but I don't and that's just stuck in a frame you know there's framed professionally framed I framed and stuck in a frame this one used to hang behind me and I had so many people asked well this is a width I need one thread my Brenda Gervais I think it's called Liberty house it's one of my very very favorites again here's that same frame the only thing I changed on this I changed the color of the house to schoolhouse red and I love this I like these kind of ghost icon ghost alphabets or like this band here that's kind of I don't want my whole sampler to be like that but occasionally I sort of like it it looks makes it look kind of faded love that the next one is Liberty's welcome and ironically it's the same frame I've requested this frame a lot of times Liberty's welcome like plum street and this is one that when I was doing it I thought oh is that house even gonna show up because you start stitching it and it's like it's not very much contrast but when you finish it I just love it she is really one of the best at um patriotic there's a lot a lot of designers who did great patriotic but she's one of the top ones that's a little bit of over one not a lot so um there again same frame I should just buy yards of that molding it's like it's hardened my husband this one is summer and Halle Berry Farm a lot of you haven't seen this one again in one of my favorites a couple people are stitching on this currently love this border it's a little bit tedious because you're changing colors I would do the red and I'd Park it and then I do the in-between leaves and then I pick up my red again so I would keep parking those too and by parking I just mean you know like to do it a waste nut you just take a stitch way out away from it preferably not in the direction you're going and then just pick it up rethread it we thread your needle and then you know go through your stitches on the back to get to where you need to go makes it a lot easier sometimes I leave the needle on but generally I take the needle off when I park it so I'm not catching it and then I have I have a lot more patriotic I didn't get them all out also this is just a quote I don't have any idea who that was by I'm 88 years ago it's it's just a flag but the stripes are like pointed it might have been a country threads but I'm not sure I had this frame and it was actually painted kind of a dark red but it had I don't know it had gouges in it so I don't know if it got dropped or what the problem was so I I took I can't remember what was in it something that was small I took it unframed it which I think I had done myself oh well Carol and today I see Carol Suzy and nobody watched romper room Carol that was years ago anyway I had him sand it to the natural and I'm gonna paint this black and then I'm gonna distress it and then you know use the BRE wax and all that good stuff and then I'm gonna put this in it it's a little bit the frames just a tad bit big but I think it would work this is Hannah Hannah Browns to Hannah's brownstone by Scarlet house this was an exclusive kit one year from market I don't know if this has been rereleased Tanna always says if she's alive things will always be available and I know she's alive so then I have a few smalls to show you these sit in a basket my kitchen is black my kitchen is navy blue wallpaper so I have this sittin on my kitchen table my friend gave me this basket for Christmas which is wonderful so this one maybe Lizzie Cate maybe Bent Creek not sure old old old old I've shown some of these before this one is Brenda Gervais with a needle and thread I don't I don't think it's called perdy but it could be some of her wands like home and bloom and some of those that are the big letters sometimes they're not called by whatever you think it's gonna be it's not necessarily that this was a black bird this came out this is an Uncle Sam one it has since come out in AM chart when I did it it was a class we painted the top hat that it sits down in I made the drum myself so don't look too closely I can finish I'm not a great chain of sure but I can finish this is old flag station I think this is spy it's called like the pin key or the something like that I think it was originally part of a country sampler 2018 I had received it prior to that this is full with walnut shells which I used to use all the time before I start using sawdust it's a little more pliable versus you know it's it's almost like you have beans or something I used to use beans years ago - not beans but the little beads that kind of look like beans this is another plum street not sure the name of it love the quilt blocks on the windows this is a great one again you know sometimes you're doing these you first start and you think oh my gosh is this house gonna show up and then it works I also love the tulips on there I guess they're tulips I told you before I'm not real good at it this is I'm pretty sure this is thread work primitive but I'm not a hundred percent sure love it I have one more this was out of the blackbird book it's that one they just read re-released Liberty liberties I care around the name of Liberty something and this button has like a little anchor on it which I thought was kind of fun it probably came off of a jacket I was watching a Seinfeld theater and he starts talking about the little buttons that are in our with our clothes the extra buttons you know like who saves all those and furthermore is the company saying you're gonna need these because these buttons are not put on very good and they're gonna fall off but you're gonna need the extras oh my gosh that's all for subject okay where do I begin that's the patriotic that I wanted to show you just a little parade there's lots more out there some reason I'm I like just I love to stitch patriotic for years flags houses were like my thing if it had a flag or a house on it I would get the chart and try to stitch it right away now I kind of do a little bit more samplers and not as many flags things but probably because I have a lot I really get into patriotic stitching like mid-june not that Memorial Day is not patriotic because it is but anyway so now I'm going to show you what I've been stitching on and I would have to say the one word describes me it's fickle because Jean from the Attic if you watch there to tarts videos they're fabulous and you get to really get a kind of a glimpse into how wonderful the Attic is and so and we all pray for Jeanne you're gonna beat it again we know it so just hang in there got us with you I know that anyway so I'd lost my train of thought Oh fickle it's a holiday right holiday from my brain um and that's kind of how I was my stitching this past month I couldn't just like settle on something to work on and finish and I picked this piece up and the next one I'm going to show you a couple times and finally I was like come on Carol just power through it and get it done and that is a joyous day so I finished Oh joyous day by blackbird the chart looks like this this has been out for a little while um not exactly sure when it came out I want to say 2018 so Alma of Blackbird stitch this and on the chart and certainly you can you can personalize it on the chart right here she says Oh joyous day and she puts the date in June and her son and his new Brides initials I didn't wanna do that there's a lot of things to me look like a wedding sampler this was not one of them to me this looks more like spring with all the flowers the house the bird all of that so I'm not very good at like me if you gave me graph paper I could reach art my name that's not a problem but actually to be able to take motifs and put them somewhere else and kind of rearrange I'm not great at that but I still decided I didn't want to put that so above the house I put my initials I stitch them three times before this what color I wanted to do and it's actually the same color but because it's very gated floss and then I added the bird that's on top of the chimney which is the same bird that's down at the bottom by the big flower and I actually had thought about putting another bird right here but then it would be standing on nothing so I added this motif I added a couple of these I call them doodahs hanging do does cuz Blackbird does a lot of them in their charts you'll think you're finished and then it's like and usually they're fairly neutral you know they they kind of match the color of the linen so they just add a little doo-dah so a joyous day is finished so done with that one so let me show you some of the other things that I stitched on and then I'm going to show you some of the things I would like to stitch or just that are fun things from my stash there's a group of us that get together and have a FaceTime call and I'm gonna bring up a chart and they'll be like no but I have a kidded and that's kind of my line no but I have a kid it some things I stitched but obviously this one I don't I don't know if you can still get it you can certainly go to City City stitchers website she did a lot of quilts too so if you go to the website you'll see quilts in addition to I first saw this last summer stitched on Tanya the Scarlet house when I went visited her house it's adam and eve sampler and if you go back to I think it was 2019 whoever does the know your needle worker type thing on Instagram and people post different things and she posts she posted if you go to the Scarlet house um she posted some pictures of her wall where she has all the samplers and this is one of the things she has on her wall so she said you know at the time she was like i Carol I don't know if you can find that or not so I came home I had it so I kidded it up it has quite a few not a lot but it has some specialty stitches it has some satin stitch and while we're talking about satin stitch this has quite a bit of satin stitch this joyous day you have for bands that are satin stitch so there's one two and then there's another one down here it's at three and then the bottom four and satin stitch it's not hard to me it's just kind of tedious cuz you're you know trying to make sure you catch exactly the right thread but anyway the City stitcher I did a few stitches on this not a lot I had started it before and this is actually um the bottom border that's like this oops helps if you show it Carol rather than just I usually do start up in the I usually start in the upper left corner I don't know why and I usually go down but for some reason with this one I went across and then down and then that's the bottom so anyway City stitcher and I really kind of fem into Adam and Eve there was a time you're two years ago I didn't have him I hadn't done any Adam and even since then I've done a few these I'm just using DMC which is what it calls for lots of colors so I'm glad it's DMC and this by the way is how I store my DMC on these thread drops you can get them on one do stitch access commodities I think makes them and I buy a couple packages periodically but good colors for as old as the pattern is great colors very very traditional that what else did i stitch on i stitched a little bit on Jane Baxter not enough to write home about and I really want to get to the house but I have done the entire oh I should be telling you what linen I use joyous day is 36 count legacy that annum and a sampler is I think it's a piece of 40 count sand doom by like by lakeside linens this one has a needle in it so me so Jane Baxter is goes across like this so I've done just the edge of the border and I put a few leaves in just to get a little pop of red the vine here that it's the border vine is I think it's lexington green which is kind of unusual and then these are like and dyes I think the leaves and then the red is Ruby slipper and you might want to say service so it's Jane Baxter by Victorian rose needle arts this was one of my red house ones that I wanted to do so joyous day had the pink house this has a red house but I I don't think I'm staying real I just need to tell you just disregard all my floss doesn't watch him for fun and just say she's not gonna do what she said she's gonna do because she's fickle don't that's it I was gonna non mania mania was gonna be all about stitching not a one not a one oh lord have mercy anyway so I worked a little on Jane Baxter really liked it I am doing this on weeks well let me just tell you I can read it weeks parchment this is old parchment and it's 36 count by old okay some people have asked what do you mean by old weeks used to use a different base linen and on some of their higher counts I don't know that they're doing it for everything but on some of their higher count linens they're using so I card now this y guard has the red or pink or orange whatever color you want to call it it's line on the selvage so if you see a salvage and it does in its a weeks fabric so here's a selvage and there's no line so this is why we call it old weeks now are they still gonna make weeks higher counts on some of the other base linen I don't know I don't know that's not up to me and aren't we glad so anyway this is Jane Baxter's colors love it love it love it so even though it seems a little light once I get going on it it's just kind of a mess here it will be a lot more colorful then the park that I finished so far okay the next one because I was just flitting around being the next one and I worked on this let's see yes this is an brainer now let me see if I can find I mean I've got that chart out please and Rainer is by threads through time hold on my husband just called me hopefully he's not dying somebody texted me they're coming to get a quilt and he saw my iPad I guess I dunno anyway this is an Rainer this has been re-released released and re-released and it's hard to find eBay I would suggest or somebody that might have it which by the way if anybody has the plantation sampler and would love to loan it to me temporarily well let's stitch it that I would be so grateful but that's just a side note anyway and Rainer and so okay let me just tell you where this comes from I love market I love all the new stuff that comes out I usually buy a good portion of all that but somehow I feel like if I start a lot of new things that some of the older ones that I have kidded that I've always really wanted to stitch get put on a back burner so I kind of had this feeling like I need to get out some of these ones that I've wanted to stitch forever and at least start them that's my theory and that's what I'm going with so and Rainer was one of them and Nicole from Nicole's needlework finished and Rainer you can go to Paulette plumb streets blog you can just type in plum street and Rainer and you can see Anne and Rainer is spelled with RA y and ER you can see her finish and in fact her conversion is based what I'm using I've kind of modified a few things but I am using silks and so this is my collection it's a pretty vibrant piece did I show you the piece yet I'm just talking joking so I started it again in the upper left I've got a little flower for some reason before I even got the border done well the board is a little tedious with all those little flower stems so this is this is helping it's gonna be right here that's the end this is 40 count light exemplar and that's how far I am so not a huge start but at least a start so now an Rainer can go from the kitted ready to go to the whip pile another one of those older pieces that I've always is an top lead hopefully by the Scarlet house this is not huge you know some of these though when you do them on black or a dark linen they just take a little longer cuz they're just you have to concentrate I do maybe it'll be better after I have my cataracts although my my close up distance is fine I can thread a needle without any kind of magnification so it'll mostly affect my distance vision I think but this is only a 122 by 181 stitches so it's not like it's a humongous big seam so there again one that I've always wanted to stitch but you know sometimes when you're working on black linen you just have I have to be a little careful because 40-count black linen is just a little bit tricky and this is a big piece that I haven't cut down there it is it's not huge it's very colorful maybe I didn't get the threads out anyway I am using the top four which are just same four threads general art so it's not huge I'm kind of anxious to get back to it I think it'll show up a lot better what it shows up better in person than it does especially when you get all the color in there so I worked a little bit on that one and then I worked on I'm some silks in front of me and I guess I didn't put a label on this ring so we'll see this is okay the next one I worked on is very good and very good is by sassafras samplers and this is exclusive to sassy Jax Brenda of Brenda and Laura Brendon the serial starters she's finished this and as it framed it's gorgeous I think Nicole is working on we've talked about these people are kind of pepto bismal people but hey why not so this one I am also working on vintage I think it's on Lighting's no I think this is weeks parchment and this is why Guard base fact I can just read it here it says 40-count parchment weeks so I got very good so I've gone all the way around on the border twice because you do the color and then you do I mean you do the kind of brownish and then you do the pink I've done the top flowers and the words which are not over one very good work aged 14 in the year 1827 and these are the threads and I know because and they're they're a ver soir so and there's that pink thanks reds greens it's very pretty a little more vibrant but pretty I'm not opposed to by them and then in my effort to stitch things of all and being fickle I just started to starting a new candle because why not this is by hands across the sea a lot of people have done this does have some freehand stuff so we'll tackle that when we get to it it is a beautiful piece ears I'm doing it in the vert soir colors so far pretty sure that's what these are yeah and here's my not too meager start there again upper left went all the way down on the border and put in a flower so I could get a little color this is on a 40 count light exemplar by Lake sight I've had this kidded since it came out I want to say forever in a day but that's close this is really bugging me I can't decide if this is the souks that go with it no I can always look at the chart it's not the end of the world all right I'm just gonna ring a bell but that's it but I think it is okay so I'm gonna answer no I'm gonna jump back to a few patriotic ones that I want to do this is a kit from country sampler you're a grand old flag flag why samplers not forgotten and I have it kitted country samplers conversion and it's done on weeks tin roof this is a kid I've had for a long time that I'd like to start well please sorry I had to pause because somebody was coming to get a quilt a couple quilts and um I just had to jump up really quick so hopefully Agnes anyway where was I oh this is a kit that I've had for a long time originally I got this from country st. where years ago but it's kitted I want to say with 32 count linen it calls for 36 this is through 36 I'll be a monkey's uncle no it's 32 I'm pretty sure so I will change the linen and you're like what the heck are you even talking about you're just going on you can show us anything yet come on Carol we got other floss tubes to watch besides you here are the colors and here's the chart now I know people that have done this and it's much more vibrant but I've always loved this piece Willow Hill samplings land of the free I think I don't know if country sampler still can get this or not but those four houses flags I just might have a hankering to start this today this is the linen color which I know there's something I might do it on 36 just to make it a little bit bigger I know there's something somewhere in my stash that will work for that okay where am I yes okay now I'm just gonna show you random stuff total random you could call this segment by my chair because a lot of it has just been languishing by my chair the first one well let me have a little bit of order to this you're like yeah right there there's been a couple floss tubes Brenda and also Brendan Lauren zero starter and also the attic and they've kind of done kind of a feature of Gigi are charts I laugh because I was stitching something when I was at stich camp last year which the teachers were barbed from blackbird designs and Linda from chessy and me and I mentioned something about Gigi her and they both started to giggle and I'm like what's so funny and they said nobody calls her Gigi don't because of Gigi so I said well her parents say Gigi yeah like same GTR they're like no that's everybody just calls it GQ if you know where you just call a Gigi I don't really know her so I'm gonna go with ger and a couple of these are kitted that's rising the first one is Mary Apple Apple white Mary Apple white 1855 age 12 I love this piece and there's no over one it's an Adam and Eve some baskets some butter a butterfly or a moth whatever a bird alphabet beautiful border I have it kitted with the cult for most of the GDR charts call for over dies not silks this looks really bright here it's not swell it's Americana by weeks it's not quite as bright as it but I'm sure I'm sure I found it out that it will blend in fine because that's just how it is I love it and I have it kitted with a piece of something I think it's like vintage exemplar maybe II 40-count so it's not gonna be huge I don't have the pattern I grabbed the front of the chart and not the pattern but it's it's not huge I might work on that today might Mima the next one I have kidded this one I believe I got at the Attic I mean the price tag it's the Attic but I believe I got it when I was there last year this is Linda Gilley Guillory Guillory 1819 Lydia did I say Linda okay let's start over Lydia Guillory 1819 love the guy on the horse love it that could almost be patriotic maybe I should start this one today if I am right that grace in part still in the right to stay if I am wrong Oh teach my heart to find a better way love that I don't know what that versus guy on the horse I don't know he looks like some sort of a soldier and then there's two girls over here see these two girls then the birds look like they're chomping on that tree I just think that's fabulous now that does have over one this is kidded I think when I was at the attic they had this if you go to the Attic under normal circumstances they have they have some displays of fibers I mean not everything obviously of things that are a conversion so I saw so in other words I got the silks and then I found the chart that goes with it so it says Lydia Guillory and these are the colors silks love it love it so that might be a fun start and this one I have kidded with 40 count this says exemplar but it sure looks like a light exemplar so and that's kind of a tall skinny one so on 36 count it's seven and a half by 16 so it looks pretty it's pretty tall so I have that that's a GTR I have this one let's get out the chart this one I don't have linen with I have a good selection or linen pretty good now I am in the Victorian motto club - this is the lady in red spinning her wool I don't know if Laura and them showed that or not but I love that love it oh I do have it killer with women this is a piece of lakeside porcelain which is pretty fabulous interesting and these are the colors these are just the over dyes Cotton's let's forget the red cranberry so we'll see how that looks cuz that might be a little that linen might be a little bit light for those you'll see this could probably have a little bit darker little maybe more of a grayish I have a couple gray pieces that I got from our tower I from anodyne Vistage weather bar anyway that might work for that because that needs a little bit gray or lemon this is one I don't have kidded I think I had it kitted at one time and I done kitted it a couple years ago a lot of people were stitching this the polka dot cow sampler I think some a showed this these are freehand here these little tassel I I won't do those I don't think they really add anything this is what I love this scene right here so at some point I might get that that's pretty wonderful but that does have a lot of free and I think um maybe done a lot a little bit let no revenge inflame our hearts no anger tease our minds but let us act a Christian part towards God and all mankind it's a nice sound here's the polka dot cow thus the namesake to be a red house then I have the Rose wreath if you haven't watched stitching with Ricci you should I think it's her very first video number one that she shows this that she's finished absolutely a museum piece it is fabulous so you know we all have to be just like the other four-year-old kindergarten they try to teach kids being individual be yourself we all like I think she did these her Rose wreath with and this takes a bucketload of threads it's a big and it's really big that's the over dies now this is 40 count parchment so I got faced by weeks and this is a fat half aka a porcelain cut because this is 300 300 by 427 stitch oh my gosh this is one of those that needs to go into the at least get it started pile I love it I love it I love it Rose wreath sampler ggr also known as C Matthews 1841 sticking with resi video number one there's a tiny bit of a joke I hope the name of this samplers in Arielle Arielle 1841 another one that I absolutely love this basket of red buds flowers whatever fruit is just fabulous I don't know if anybody on the recent videos has shown this this order so a couple years ago I was a country singer and I think I've told this story on applause - oh wow while ago and sitting on the floor newly framed was this piece I don't think it belonged to the store I think maybe they had picked it up for someone or had it framed for someone I don't know I don't know the situation but it was kind of hidden down by the cash register well I saw it and I thought absolutely gorgeous and they do have a conversion for it I've just never seen it in the store when I've been there since here's the colors this particular piece of linen is dark this is a piece and I sent an email to my mind is blank what her first name is the Dixie sampler and dyed fabrics now occasionally she'll have like a not really an auction but kind of a first-come first-serve type hears on Facebook she'll have here's my linens I have available but I had sent her eight because this was originally kitted the country sampler kitted with um this particular linen only was done 36 counting apple butter I ended up getting 40 so I sent her an email and said I would love to have a piece of this and it takes a fat half and it took a little while not anything that it was like I was worried or anything but she handed it and I think I obviously had to pay for it ahead of time because she doesn't and I don't know that she does this a lot you know I mean people I don't want 40 people emailing her and saying he did this herself box what he did this for me these are the colors and oriole so the first time I met Brendon Laura we were at the dyeing justice retreat last year and I was we were riding in the car somewhere and Laura and I was and I said there's a sampler that is absolutely to die for gorgeous and it's on this brown fabric by Dixie it's called apple butter so but I can't remember the name of it I think it's areola I'll just start cracking up and they're like that needs to be here so this is an Oriole it was one thing that once it came out of my mouth I was like that's not right okay so I'm gonna show you some other things that are just fun things that are in my stash come by my chair whatever ones I want to stitch stuff I love I did have a question from somebody and they said have you ever stitched a Scarlet Letter sampler no I'm embarrassed to say no however I have two of them started if that counts the first one that I have started and I started this in 1880 how it feels I started this right worth am in 1818 I started this in 20,000 of 2018 this is an Grimshaw my Scarlet Letter 1818 and my goal was to travel down to get to the letters because I like to do alphabets so this is the upper left and I'm traveling down this is how far I've gotten I'm doing it all in black this is a lakeside 36 count pecan butter fat half and the black I'm using is gloriana antique black with all the hoopla lately about red red samplers this is a gorgeous black sampler I really need to get back to so my chair calling me I said I had to started this is the other one Jenny bean and you can remember I I've showed this before because I started it on a piece of um 36 count shadow by picture this plus and it comes across black I mean purple when it's really supposed to be black so I do think ups like this I do think I'll probably start this over and I think because I'm using a varus flaw I'm not sure where the threads are but I'm using a very slow I might use I might even do 32 count cuz this is all fill in and I don't want to stress doing 40 count black black so I've been told you can use one strand on 32 with a very small because it's thicker so I might try that so those are the two I have started I have quite a few that I have purchased this one I love Katherine Metcalf and this is a big girl let me see what the stitch count is on this on 35 count it is twenty by twenty six and twenty and a half basically 21 by 27 40 count it's basically 18 by 23 either way it's big um if you follow sampler farm her name is Carol she's on Instagram as well as Facebook she has this framed on her sampler wall and you can tell because of the fact that you have this big tree the verse you can just tell it's this one Katherine Metcalf and to tell you the truth sometimes if I'm trolling Instagram I'll look through people like this is there um sampler walls and if I see one I just love I might Instagram message or say what's the name of that sometimes they're not available they're long gone other times you can get them there you know once through Scarlet Letter I sometimes shy away from Scarlet Letter because there seems to be a lot of like this this tree right here that whole tree is full of bullion knots bullion czar like French knots that are twist so you actually have like a little almost like a strand with loops or nut loops but it's like wrapped but you could easily do French knots on there I know you could just stitch it with crosses something I just love it I absolutely and Gaga about the sampler and the verse is not over one now there's a lot of back stitching to it says back stitching bullion knots I sometimes I don't think you have to do the back stitching sometimes I think back stitching kind of dates things and I ordered a kit with the Avera swap but I will not use that linen it's really stiff but I got it so I can match up color to it so that's another Scarlet Letter I want to do this is Jayne Atkinson love it Yvette he Yvette geo I think it's her name on Instagram she's doing this it's one of her pieces she's working on surprise surprise give it that's all The Scarlet Letter I wanted to show you now we're jump back in get back to Gigi are this one I'm missing a few colors this is Jane's southward I think this has been shown I know this either by the attic or by Brendan Laura red house I love this the borders fabulous I don't think it's huge Jane's southward 1836 the other thing about Gigi are I think she's a very underrated designer as far as her charts maybe one of the reasons is because she shows the antique on the picture front of the pattern versus showing a reproduced stitched piece and so you kind of have to use your imagination that when you stitch it it's going to look fresher it's not gonna look like a tattered maybe even kind of I don't want to say dirty but worn to a turd worn antiques so this one I have kidded I'm not surprised I'm not gonna get the threads out because they're not and this is a piece of older metal Roux 40-count these are the threads and I had actually thought about starting this one today [Music] hey dad cook used to only do hot dogs and burritos in the microwave now he actually can fix himself waffles and sausage for breakfast things are looking better poor guy I just spoiled him by cooking for all the years and you know once they retire it's kinda like hmm there's plenty of leftovers or whatever you can kind of fence it yourself does that mean I don't know this is another one okay a lot of people are talking about Frances Eden and if you've watched Nicole's needlework she's been working on it the other thing in fact in her last video I think she has some pictures of it this is kind of a bright sampler I originally got a conversion there were a couple of ones that I wanted to tweak and I'm waiting for some more silk colors to come I don't have any of the teals yet that are in it and like this and this I'm gonna use one or the other I'm not gonna use both obviously obviously so this is Frances Eden I'm gonna use probably a piece of light exemplar sure something that's a fairly light linen so that's what I want to start as soon as I get the rest of the threads and then this is one I've had for a while another bright one very good was the one with all the pepto-bismol people that colors are kind of bright a lot of the samplers I've done in the past or a little more muted but then I have these couple they're a little brighter so I kind of like a combo this one is Hester Kingdom no it's Hester Kingdom almost exact same colors as Frances Eden another red house this one I have kidded with some 36 count it might be the week's parchment old parchment here's the colors let me spread them out so you can see there's some pretty bright greens in there these are MPI so NP eyes are hard to show because I keep them in these philosophy bags and here's my theory if it comes like this wrapped I've usually put it in a philosophy bag NPI Avera soir if it comes on a on a card like this I leave it hanging the exception is DM C DM C because they're so so many BMC colors and I I don't know why I just started putting them on philosophy Oh hanging tag what am I trying to say Plus tags and I like them on that so that's the exception all the rest of them it's there if they come with a little paper band thing like this I use philosophy bags because people ask how do you get when that is no story floss everything's on rings so all my NPI's are on a big ring except the ones that I have this and get anyway see how bright that green is but I like it just like it don't you like right you know like I say that's what Brenda says you gotta have choices what you like so there's a couple starlit house that I have kidded this one pana Tingy red house I probably have the most scarlet house kidded than any I love her charts I love her designs I just really really enjoy stitching this is an priests also kidded scarlet house sorry you can look these up you know they're not hard to find this one is Susan wasp and Adam and Eve this one is by la-dee-da and I love this and I have it I don't have linen that won't be hard I have it kitted with DMC really liked that one the last one well a couple more right here this is one Susie where you know Susie RINO and I got the tip at country sampler laughter Cindy Reno does floss too but she also used to be the half of the designer of raise the roof with kitten stitcher Theresa the net and she's working on this I don't know if she's posted pictures but it's the Alpha blocks and I need a word press I think I got a lot of all I got a couple of things where I got just some threads and everybody's craziness to want to start Dutch Beauty I also would like to start it and this is one of the things I'm gonna do when I can't stitch is I'm going to put all of these on the floss tags I have a couple of them on there all these DMC I'm gonna run I ordered a piece of this is just so I guard cream it's a little bit light I think I'm gonna give it just a little bit of a tea or coffee bath just darken it just a shade but I'm not gonna experiment on the 40-count big piece I'm an experiment on this piece of 36 count it's the same exact thing cream so I garden because the colors there's a lot of tans in this and I don't want to have too dark of a linen that they disappear so that's Dutch Beauty by permanent Copenhagen website that's all the stitching I want to show you and I hope all of you follow on Instagram Tammy whose basket nut and Tammy does some stitching she does a phenomenal amount of beautiful quilts and I met her a couple years well I saw her last year but I didn't get to spend much time with her but the year before I met her at a quilt shop called JJ stitches in Madison Wisconsin she's wonderful she loves primitive I love primitive she's inspired me just in a few conversations we've had on Instagram to kind of go back to my quilting roots now I haven't strayed real far away I always kind of do about the same thing but I really really like primitive quilts so I'm gonna insert some pictures or my husband's gonna do it of some primitive quilts that I've done here you so now you get an idea of what I'm talking about primitive quilts and no I don't know chase so anyway um I decided to get out some of my things that I've either started or I've done a little bit on and I just need to finish and so I'm just gonna show you a few of these the pictures you saw our primitive quotes that I have I we don't use them like on beds and stuff I hang them on the walls put them over a chair they're kind of special because they are hand appliquéd this is one I started a long time ago the Bible quote this is by Jan paddock the ones you saw the pictures of a couple of them are by Jan Patek the and a couple of them the Noah one and the garden club one are by country threads this is the Bible quilt this is the fabric that goes on the border how fabulous is that and these are the blocks that I finished now this was something that I got the kits for years ago from a shop that's named and open anymore so you have Genesis you have animals Adam and Eve they're very primitive the fall I think I have seven of them done the flood let my people go and that's another one from Egypt oh no that's the Golden Calf and the Ten Commandments so anyway that is one that I definitely want to finish and they are all hand appliquéd and machine quilted and they have a lot of writings not a lot but some embroidery like this one you can get close as in the beginning God created the heavens in the earth I just think it's a stunning piece this one was one that you saw one of the pictures of when I did the one that the picture is taken from them it was a block of the month that I did at the quilt shop I worked at prior to that I had kits from another shop because I had to do the block of the month out of the current fabrics we had in the store so I could make up kits for people this set of kits didn't ever get made and I love this enough that I'm willing to make this again so I have one block finished on that and that is right here so it's just a matter of drawing out the template this is the Garden Club one then I had a picture of my country threads this was one that was like came out in monthly things and it was also kits so those are some of the primitive quilts that I want to get back to and this has been a really long video I'm sorry taking up too much of your Memorial Day but probably by the time it gets uploaded with all the pictures little B tomorrow or Tuesday so remember me my search I didn't want to wait and do a video and I have a thing like this like hello how are you that's vanity anyway umm pray all that goes well my family's doing well Lindsey's doing great she's cancer-free they sold their house or buying a new house they're moving probably at the end of June when they closed on both houses so we went and visited her new soon-to-be new house yesterday and it's big and it's just a wonderful family house and it'll she has three ovens so definitely I will not be cooking the big holiday meals anymore I'm so excited I'll just be taking things over there so all is well I hope you all are surviving kovat we're really fortunate here in Florida because things are starting to open up maybe partially because it's hot and humid I don't know but um able to get my hair cut you know it's all good I have to show pictures from the side so that if I ever want this haircut again she'll be able it's a crazy day hi it's a crazy life I lead but anyway I hope you all are doing well and enjoying your stitching and time at home [Music]
