[Music] one of the key points of our design come from our office is that predominantly our work is a combination of concrete and glass and one of the main features of that is that the home itself is not the overpowering element that is to ensure that the occupants of the home bring in their own personality into the dwellings and so from furniture to artwork to rugs to lighting we think about it a little bit like as a gallery for instance that the architecture of the gallery can be beautiful architecture but it's not what people go there for people go there for also the artwork we try to not have our architecture but the overpowering element that the occupants can present themselves and their own personalities into the home and that can evolve you can see how they've made it their own by the simplicity of their furniture the artwork on the home just really wakes up the walls we have a reserve behind us here so we've got this beautiful borrowed landscape and then we've got a traditional style home left and right so it sort of bugs the trend a little bit about what's around us that works sublimely with concrete the greenery the just the softness of the greenery up against the concrete works so nice we were able to make this space down here so we're able to step down about 1200 ml from one area to the other we gained that height within this volume here as opposed to putting livable areas above this living here kitchen living lounge alfresco pool area on the lower level in the upper level got the kids area with the garage utilities and a guest room three bedrooms with ensuites are parked in the front volume which allows us to create a 3.6 meter ceiling height through here and that accepts just the beautiful sunlight so as you descend down the stairs you land over into the entertaining space and the volume just opens up lovely one of the main features that i really do enjoy about this home is the surface area of the glass and the height of the glass that we've got in this volume and what that does is just dilute the visualness between outside and inside so even just in here right now i feel like outside is part of inside and inside is part of that and you really only get that with such tall sheets of glass [Music] all the external walls in this home the concrete external walls are all thermally masked the walls themselves are considered like a double glazed window so you've got two sheets of glass with an air gap between the walls are two sheets of concrete with foam in between them the external walls behave almost like a double glazed unit it stops the heat from the outside coming in from inside or the cold so there's a thermal break between the outside temperature and the inside temperature [Music] you
