can we can we'll turn you around and can we get you to we'll get you to i'll stand over here i'll switch hands for you tell us a little bit about your steer and how many years you've been doing this i have been trying eight years um he we declared him at 1350 and he was a division two crossbred last class so how many years have you been showing livestock uh as long as i can remember has it always been beef steers uh yeah i've shown beef since i was about seven and i've never really quit it did you ever have any thoughts before that do you like rabbits or chickens or hogs or anything else i showed pigs for a little while but steers was where my passion was that so tell us a bit more what's a day like i mean you've got the longest project when it comes to a project for animals that you can take to any fair the longest times you've got it you've got it all winter you've got to work with it spring there's lots of other things going on in the world in school what's it like being out in the barn every day um it's kind of my happy place i go there to relax and to have our time in does he like does he like to walk um and he was not lazy but sometimes sometimes it's more difficult so when do you walk him it's been quite hot out when do you take him out for a walk before we rinse every day we do exercise to get him loosened up and then to get him a little warm before we rinse so where are you at in school i'm going to be going into a junior you want to be a junior and what do you what are your thoughts after high school anybody out in the workforce start keeping eye on you um i want to still go into livestock and i thought about going into embryology there you go getting into the technical field so congratulations to you you guys did a great job getting everything ready yesterday and and working through all of it and listening to the judge's comments it's the last one to get selected and takes a long time but congratulations and thank you and congratulations to your family johnny regular knows what he's got to do so we'll go from here thank you so much this calf is uh i'm going to get this part out of the way early he's the breeding on this calf is of a bull called here i am and out of a wizard damn it's raised by rob van hove and marketed by wade rogers on iowa this calf there's a winter series that happens in ohio and throughout the midwest this calf was probably won more times than he was beaten this is a very very unique very very special calf this young girl lost her grandpa this year and she told grandpa binkley this is for you and by guys she did it she did it she plays volleyball she don't have a boyfriend she don't have a tv she's lucky to have a phone cause all she does is loves to work on these cattle the agri family has been been been been in this ring before i've sold her calves two or three times and it's about time to sell one for ladies and gentlemen i give you the grand champion steer at the 19 2022 i've done that many times 2022 ohio state fair i give you miss riley eggbert a great one one of the boost i i'm telling you this calf hardly ever got beat ronnie congratulations i couldn't be more proud it's time to selling it's going to be a tough thing to do but i'm going to sell him and you know what i want i want a hundred thousand dollars for this steer 20 let's go 30 i had 20 would get 30. high of 30 30 40. i have 40 pound now when i'm on voting and boarding down that one a month 30 40. now 50. i have 50 thousand dollar here now 60. i had 60 down now 6960 down now when i'm on 50 what are you 60 i had 60 000. and now 70. i have now five high sixty five thousand now seventy high seventy thousand dollars sixty five one seventy thousand dollars here is 65 sunday yes seventy nine seventy eighty now ninety five eighty five eighty five you all know we've broken another record but we're not done i had ninety thousand ninety five higher ninety thousand whoa ninety two five ninety five thousand high ninety two five we get ninety five thousand dollars here ninety six i want a hundred thousand dollars for this campaign a hundred thank you i know five i got hundred thousand now tomorrow hundred five i get a understand there's a little oil down in that country okay i understand that so they they don't know what to do with all of it but they've been setting all kinds of records so it's only fitting that don't show anymore but they used to i mean they get about four o'clock in the morning to rinse and wash heifers and steers it's amazing it's impressive that they get up and do that and so these young people deserve it and then i've got great bitters that cost me a little bit of money but you know it's all for the right cause i mean mr roush has been here forever i actually felt bad buying the grand champion a little bit but i wanted to win i wanted to win so uh you know congratulations to all you young ladies and young men uh very very impressive congratulations ladies and gentlemen let's see how wild you can be in that scarce steer for somebody who just spent 225 thousand dollars for a remarkable family in their project this year riley egbert all glaze county [Applause] again bought
