[Music] let's be honest podcast mest podcast baddest podcast never saddest podcast and today have a bad producer artist when I feel like when I feel like today have russan on the place up yourself um long overdue because people have some questions with them need answers to you feel me first thing are you Jamaica let's get straight to it born and raised which part of Jamaica Kingston notal hospital and then you you go school to go Queen prep hard high school and we get kicked from there and then go Covenant a reject school so what you for get long story we don't really want time we can't we can't skip that but covant High School mhm yeah Covenant Christian Academy and then what your background you have any form musical background at all um yeah my father my father did the um music Still mhm but when I when when I was of age he he wasn't doing music do it before me BN so was he was he he play any form ofl it's not like it's not like him ever say yo this is music TR whatever but he did have a little Studio set up and I did see that equipment and um I used to dble and Dabble and then I just kind of figure it out on my own mhm yeah and then now siblings a bigst like you one your only child no no no have um two sister two brother one of my brother them pass away um and then but living in the house it was one sister the others were older okay so you the youngest yeah we had the youngest okay so why why music um we just love it bro I used to I used to select first they have a song called nocturnal um me started with some schoolmates and then we just used to hearh on the radio and feel like we could have do something as good or even better so is is it the case where like you from a well off Family where like this shouldn't be way should if you know average why you the music come from a family what you know do does well for thems but my father was a man talking past cuz he passed but he was a man who say anything you want you have to work for it so even if him have $10 he must say me have to go work for my own so never like equipment or nothing never buy me none of that and me us to just hustle cell phone whatever it is buy my own things and so and never discouraged me said do what you want to do so question originally I pass for a college ofer and tell him say yo give me give me 6 months before it's supposed to start and if we not make it in a music then we go to college but I made it what what what was that song for say you make it I mean it would would have been uh it would have been cartel hold you down and life sweet but prior to that I was building beats and giving it to other what's a beat you bu the place and we would know you it I don't want to discredit the people no no not like it's like if I'm a ghost writer I'm not going to I'm not going to snitch on what it is cu it discredit them Legacy if want come and talk about it going talk about it so yo so you to go in St time yeah so you more friends in high school M no so start the music like you know people Russian and you know put out rhs like you know the link up that no we were we were friends um we were friends not in the beginning part of high school in the L part when I when I start more push the music You See Me mhm I don't remember the exact time but yeah we did link um them time him already around the place you see me so link with him like like mentorship no we just was friends um was mentorship or it was just was friends talk about music we make couple together but yeah and then now your first release of C that's say first artist to work with no no no first artist to work with um I did work with around them time I work with Sho conscience cartel um Taurus think Shawn Paul yeah work with you as you like 17 you work with with like Ste Freddy son yeah no no no so so how the thing did go still was a networking man we used to just go to Studio them with I make the artist he rate it even get into the stud the like go no how many get in the studio all right Natural Bridge was one couple man in the streets I did know I think I think um I think Frost Frost was one of them Frost was like never in production at the time so used to hang out I'm meet Frost you C shot them so it was just a matter of we just yo you know a man just part of the stud one day and say yo that you and just a link like that it wasn't really a matter of oh yo can you bring me to the studio no it was just pull upud man hear the thing and couldn't couldn't deny it you me so you know as a juvenile feel like you have to work hard prove because you track record when make your sound is there something particular more put even that jump p on or that instrument be different yeah no to go unique anything anything um just always want it look different for stand out to to my song it's just unique like strange songs things where as you hear the Rhythm you going to know say all is that song Or that Rhythm so so them way used to just kind of pre and then at this time you have head concussion or it wasn't that thing just Russian you thing no I did have head concussion because my cousin they give me the name at the time so that was just you alone or it was like no it was me alone me alone and then um like 2 years in one you from country um name Brixton him did come in but him was always in country so he never really I think a l live him never really probably one studio session in years he's ever been to MH you see me him him never really around the thing and then after that some people come around like you know you have Sensei they come around and um con around and but con never really do producing him just is the crime minister right yeah all right make sure was like the hype man okay yeah and then now straight jeans and that is the intro to Russian you know the Russian straight jeans straight jeans and was the era of when you know all right this you a producer remember before even straight jeans we did feel like say all right this is how I even think that it was when they have RS around the place I me say what's next bus artist B Shand and say all right what's next all right let me try the artist thing so one day go to C and say yo concept for song and believe in idea we just do it why if be leing work with you at all even in the beginning yo he's a man who see the vision I guess when I met him I spoke to him with confidence did hear you know him want and read them bad and it's actually him text me is him text me like two days later like 6 a morning and say yo them text them time used to text weird like some subliminal way and man say yo like say y a teacher link upend some so I guess from the day meet me and here what we did have still and they say yo that you have the vision you believe you see me and yeah yeah and you know couple mut friends Street all yeah no so so that's how I think I build the whole Foundation of russan is even though people say oh upt you used to go every dance no matter where they could have Riverton could have Sherlock t m de um walking in the streets giving out CDs burn them print them up if a car play a sound we used to make sure them have a c so I think I did actually do the street work and build it because at the time even now I don't really think producers really touch the street them just used to produce and just so you feel like you were accepted out the gft or like is just like yo at first bro some artists used to even say yo who that Japanese or or it's a foreigner charge him money or whatever I never forget one time withco I think Jaz bring session think and um like play one of the most play like 20 time and then like just just change think yeah Grand yeah I I I don't know maybe think it was a Japanese so then they said that so I remember that was like the first time I ever hear a man come up with that and and I was like all right cool whatever I never feel no because bro expect entitled expect even even if I wasn't a Japanese if that's in price just have to respect it and just move on at the time I never have the money for pay him 10 grand mhm so I just said all right cool y speaking of V like somebody me say you were really a goalie producer initially no no me link MH just like me and Carter link it was never a go or Gaza thing it's just we did cool and we still cool yeah I know you're going say you told me already take long for vice V take long for do everything like that's just his him go him time but that wasn't the reason there's no that that's as just say mhm just like how I respected the Marcus 10 grand 10 grand not switch side a man just take long Force cuz that's how he move and it was no switching sides was good with both of them even during the whole war between cartel and M Mar never s out and say [ __ ] dead you know we did good just like me and frost did good you see me so I just so time yeah bro bro I tell you me Frost car FR Frost pick me up and say yo to go pick up V and frost never have no money the car n breaks and sure almost run off of the road and nobody know we yeah bro was look at the end of day dog you know a say but that not get involved in that because if them good back tomorrow we don't want be in a situation of that you see me just respect what them deal with and that was it so feel like you were exempt from all that you're upt youth mean I mean that no it's just how you carry yourself it's just how you carry yourself it's no way you feel like say oh it's a Uptown youth we not no bro holy up you pick a side or whatever I just it was just what it was mhm you see me and then which year now Jak com the picture I think I think 20 Jacob from 2010 still like mentor of like when Jacob funny when Jacob come my studio she came with my Richard Raina like saying him just did a par and bring her and made a bill with him never bring her as artist yeah I guess it was friend and then uh him say yo like funny you know she can sing I'm say yeah and she sing and say yo you're bad but she say yo she want to be like a R&B and all that I say yo that's cool and all but in Jamaica if you want that I wouldn't start there just so she said really all right cool whatever it is she probably come back around again one time say yo you know her voice bad say yo have to work on if if we do some work we have to work on Dance first and um she was a little hesitant and then explain it to her she never have a name we they give her the name um I made up the name for her and everything and um and then after that I worked on wine and CCH M I wrote it for her and thing and gave it to her she deliver it kill it that's one thing she always have delivery and she have good stage presence and then rest history that song I never BST Jamaica nobody never believe in it we just did bus first it Bust from um um French Caribbean and Latin I just I did just I believed in the song and I did just Market it on the internet and I just watch where was gravitating it first and push it there and it BST and then you don't know when the selector them fly out and say yo like would fly on region and say yo why around the place and them hear the song and then come back like I remember boom boom was on come back from one of them place and say yo that's s you run the place and play it so she Bust from foreign really and then to Jamaica so you feel like certain songs don't get accepted in the culture when they come off as too International but when it do work international it can come back certain songs certain songs like some point like like Charlie blocks like party animal yeah I don't remember the how that did react if it did even react in Jamaica for but yeah yeah of course you have songs that because Cranium song Nobody have to know I remember that BS first at New York but it was released in New York he's a New York artist no it's no bro it's not released in New York you know mean though was to released in New York promote New York play York first so yeah there songs that I don't think Jamaicans are necessarily saying yo don't come from here or this what it is so we're not go it's just whole wherever it catch first it catch first and Jamaicans catch on after I don't think they're saying yo come from you see me yeah just like Theon bust somewhere else and then come to Jamaica after but but there it don't matter it's still I think it definitely matter pop smoke like pop pop New York right he's in New York so friends connect with certain DJs play on the radio over there but imagine you as a Jamaican artist put a song here and then it was somewhere else but that happen Jacob no I'm asking you do you feel that it's a thing where like all right we not [ __ ] with this but then it Go and realize other people jump on BW yeah that what your thoughts on that I mean I think that's possible I think that's humans I think that happen with enough things yeah I think that's how happened before and she she sign Con yeah she was yeah so question you know condolences RP but how how did that passing affect label and you personally I mean yo of course it personally affect me years we spend with her you know like mentoring her writing song teaching her enough things just building Vibes energy good person yeah did it it affect all of us especially like Sensei and them who used to on the road [Music] um you know condolences to family and friends and everything it's just it's just I think the whole labeled it feel a little way when we attended the funeral we never we were never a part of it you feel me like not even I don't think none of the man get for talk or we were even acknowledged and there were people there that remember you know Jacob PR for them last two years spent every day with us so we can of know her Circle and then we just see people we didn't really know speaking and at the end of the day that's their choice but that's just kind of how we felt like okay like we thought we were part of her family you me like of course she have a real family and stuff but so that did affect us to where we're like we couldn't even get to grieve a certain way because we felt like we were shunned you know way so um but yeah condolences again but it's just maybe maybe they never want to speak whatever it is we not bash them for that but that's just how we did feel you see me you you men sh not to be funny but what what happened to him like you know we have like thater wise like industry stop the music I can't remember two Shand song just like no Shan did have three solid song um that me know and TJ strange face and hello okay yeah I think um you know I think you know him had was dealing with some personal things too and then me and him never really connect musically anymore like I did I think I did um reside now in Florida and in him never I felt like maybe we never link enough to continue the music and then yeah so you you migrating you migrate or just like you to say I go Florida no I never got to Florida first I went to Atlanta okay for a few months and like it they move so so you migrated to America well back and forth but yeah okay talk like like residency citizenship type [ __ ] yeah I still a resident here too it's just back and forth cuz I just use Miami as a a Gateway come always on the Move okay so with that move have a studio on like give up the studio no no no re room and the studio in the back it's just um my cousin was running that and I just I think like I think a few months or a year after I did leave I feel like maybe because I wasn't there as much I was moving around the man them never really as interested or maybe not as motivated cuz I wasn't there so you know just kind of now how you get into this Latin Market I feel like there was a time where you just go ghost and then you just pop up back and it's just like go tell me when again I'm telling from my perspec I'm just saying from my perspective you just a ghost and just like yo Russian produce some big ltin songs and they see a Puerto r at one point I think he used to live at Puerto Rico no never I'm not from from from me just outside looking in just like yo some [ __ ] you can't pronounce the name and you just run over the part like yeah know I've major success over there like so what was a transition and then you being a well all right it go back to like even even preing like like you I say I did do Rhythm boss a artist sing on a song I felt like there was more for me like I felt like me as Russian was was supposed to do more not just only Dan not taking away from Dan all like just a calling and feel like so yo we can do more things you see me so that's why I move to like to have a resident there to to to touch other markets and moving to Miami I always used to listen to Hispanic music cuz as a young youth a relative used to bring a lot of Hispanic girls around and they used to play that and then that's how I got familiar with the artist and the song and they move into Miami one of my dog them say yo I did have a oh I did have a Egyptian song where they mash up the whole place called win slow MH and they want to remix it and one of my say yo you should put ABC on on there the artist Faro and then I reached out to their team um told them the idea they loved it they already knew up dance hall songs are produced before so that's so show you danceall still respected by the man them and believe in it we did the remix funny know VP have Egyptian sign them tell me when I told them I was doing them look at me like yo Russian what are you doing like you're wasting your time and this will never work did it then Latin music blew up and then a year later back hey um let's try revisit the topic cuz they never see the vision so that is the first song where I kind of like say what open my eyes to the genre of working you see me of like saying we should blend two of them and even seeing that is almost the same music it's just one is in a different language the same same kind of reading pattern same Melody same everything so you can't see Spanish yeah no oh okay yeah things say Spanish though I'm not like amazing but you know I understand everything and I can have convos speak to the artist speak to girls whatever it is so like your biggest like like La record why your biggest record overall like you can see it can't really it's hard to measure that because you have you have Records who culturally huge and you have Records Was sell a lot but it not really didn't move cultures all right tell what give two all right kryy Kush Bad Bunny Faro remix Nicki Jam Nicki Minaj Travis Scott 21 Savage that record was a groundbreaking record MH it sold a lot I think it's like 10 million to Diamond but that moved the whole culture of saying even bad bunnies um that was like like his song to Americans where he had white American black American saying who is this it crossed over what is this Latin trap mhm to that mainstream market so culturally that was a big record and then um then you have other records that might just sell a lot but never move culture you which one which one are M or which one in general yeah yeah it is um there's like passion wi or sunset um what were big records were sold maybe 8 million but it wasn't like it was just a good song the other one like literally probably probably would have play today no it's still playing but it's not culturally where it's a statement you so jeans and F was a statement where you go everywhere in Jamaica everybody was dressed kind of like this that's a cultural song you understand what move the culture yeah so the other songs are just songs it don't it's just good songs it don't really have a cultural statement behind it and then what was a transition like going into hip-hop well hip hop is a little different still because lat the Latin fan base the Latin artist are more I would say humble and more easy going and then hip hop is very ego ego driven sometimes man feel like bigger than who they are or so you just dealing with that you see me um but yeah no me and me and almost all of the hipop man them good we work you transition into that like the song for say Russ to produce hip hop rap right now I know you fut yeah few Kevin Gates was one of the first man them I used to listen of Kevin Gates and he was one of the first hip-hop man then when him there run the place with the link and I produced like this the famous song where him did kick the girl remember apparently yeah remember yeah um I produced that I produced a few songs on his album um you know like he's one of them stuff with the Amigos stuff with it's it's kind of long I can't remember you baby too little baby yeah little baby yeah you little baby yeah me do oh God so why them trust you though for going to that right cuz me again why trust me because realize say yo all right the you well first of all when I in the studio with them and I'm hearing the music is speak fors one two they will know who I am or if they don't know they research and say oh [ __ ] they you to have numbers you think also how I carry myself I walk in the studio I'm wearing either the same watch them have or even something crazier so them realize all right if I'm wearing A1 million watch he has to be doing something right M you see me it's not a matter of oh who's this little kid you get what I'm saying you yeah but song not out not new [ __ ] semi new yeah oh so that was that like meet him just like was interaction something when I met Hime no unless we joking around but it's not really like you trying to be yeah no Drake cool dog in the studio on him phone right fast he the goat one of the goats for sure so who like somebody say yo work EIC different like you know say from link up get some [ __ ] done juice world all right cartel um ju cartel Faro ra alandro another Spanish artist um who else yeah you need more if there's more I don't know a couple well couple well but like juice world is a man who literally you play the rhym him hear it say stop like 5 seconds and say load it and instantly he's G singing off the top of his head and his Flames like Freestyle freestyle yeah or just Freestyle right kind of like Carter two man where sit see them do it I'm like yo man alien who are some producers over there where I do the work but we know not as flashy as you like like super dupes and like you know like that type of nature yeah super dupes is a big producer Steven M in terms of international right yeah is is doing his thing M I would say those those three off the top of my head is something Jama who um oh yeah but life but yeah boy wonder jamaic okay my dog and then give me a moment to surprise like as what a interaction with a fan traveling a artist uh when Rihanna follow me on Instagram Yeah by by accident no bro no hell no Rihanna not following Nothing by accident yeah word to her yeah and she what work with yeah bro we've worked on things for Ranna but Rihanna not really studying music right now she she have a family and things so is there really a dancer album for rih yeah I have a have a confirmed song on it like they pay me feet already paperwork done everything but we can't go force her for the music I'm one of rana's biggest fans love her music but she has study her life you know her pck them her man yeah she's a billionaire without music so music stressful you know so we can't blame her Ed concussion is there any other like you have artist now that are assigned to other producers um yeah artist right now to head concussion um yeah we have COA um one newth them Jiggy [ __ ] not as an artist you know as a him doing him thing like him producer artist thing not formally but you know mhm I'm my dog um he's not on the head confussion but he's on the rich immigrants nine um right now who else yeah that's it should I thought was sorry I should so you forget her that's like is that she like your biggest Sig I don't know I that's crazy yeah no that's that's very great no because just I think about like young okay yeah young I thought I was thinking more young I never forget yeah Shen sign to me so not on head concussion concussion and that's and that's a imprint of Interscope corre yes Rich immigrants and Interscope Partners okay um Shia right you know you know what did you say I said she's a flop but based on based on the fact that I feel like she not fulfill her potential you know and then there's always this oh I'm a pop artist I want to do more than dance and all that now you you like comment on that on what is she's a pop artist no I'm not saying like she's a flop I I'm a big Shenia fan let's get that straight but I'm just saying you're saying that it's not the same of the Shen know no I'm saying that she's she's getting certain collabs and and she's on certain platform and she's not capitalizing on those opportunities you get what I mean I think she's capitalizing on the opportunity in terms of doing it I just feel like um maybe the choice of music is not the best of of what the people want to hear from her because sometimes the people's vision and artist Vision different she might feel like this is what she want to do but the people are accepting her for that and and who do you think has has the leverage the people are the artist is it what the artist want to give them or what the people want um I mean at the at the end of the day it's like who have the leverage no she she choosing what she want to put out in her and the people not accepting it is what I think is happening but um in this aspect is the people yeah it's people consuming the music so them don't want to hear it as much as if her pop stuff them don't hear as much as her dance then obviously the people them kind of yeah people I'm not say me but I've seen things on Tik toks and all them I think them said that because of the um the comments what she said what them never too like about you know the Caribbean people um whatever she said with that I don't remember exact words and then her not and her saying maybe I I gave dance allall four years so I feel like the people feel like she tur her back on them and she can have to speak on that where that's concerned but you as an exec don't you like micromanager artist here she signed to me and to be real me and Shia don't talk in two years but she signed to me but not control nobody they can do what they want because want anybody ever hold them back or stifle them career or whatever it is so don't talk on some on some noten both of it both of them so is what it is I I don't feel like I'm not going to tell someone yo don't talk I can advise you I can't force you I think during these comments I wasn't around okay so with with that being said is is signing more artist a part of what you don't want for do kind of scarred from it no no not scarred um because enough enough artists I help some of them are grateful some of them ungrateful and it's just humans just like if you have a girl some girl ungrateful some it's just a learning process One One Bad Apple don't spoil the bunch for me and it's not like yo don't wish nobody and she even though talk I still approve everything all of them expensive video I still approve I never stop a song it's just that we're not seen in this moment of time we're not seen ey to ey but a freestyle the go I was like you signed to the producer so why like all this won't job you know this won't come out well I never understand that because if it won't come out why you post it but I don't know I can't I can't speak on that as in I don't no know the same time you saw it the same time I saw it the same time you heard it the same time I heard it so I understand that still now you go dance all regon Latin trap hip hop trap music you never really disappear from Dan you always you pop up like you see highest level song yeah and then you see G again and fall back whenever see work with SK 23 and all that like why you always Y come back to the culture because it's something love something it start at the foundation so you for the love yeah of course bro it's not for the money like as I just told you have records that sell 10 million Diamond you know um I don't have to do dance all I do come love it it's not never been a never been a money thing even in the starting it was never about money it was just about you already already you already got it like that no no no my father bro trust me if if if anybody know him it's not even it's not even a man who spend money on himself you understand is is is it's not that I have it me as a man for work for anything what me want that's what me believe when believe anything given to me or hand out I don't want no hand outs I want say y watch me work Fe you see me you not feel good if if I was just given you understand when you work for something feel better yeah so so how you how you stay in tune like it's like YouTube [ __ ] checking on the ground no holy we still have people in the streets like jig the streets tell me yo YouTube I'm always like listening obviously not all day searching on the internet but listen out um people DM me yo check the artist or me find them on Instagram Tik Tok whatever it is yeah it's not more refreshing than hearing a bad new artist you just don't know what them coming with them certain comments where they're like you only try to draw for the the the hottest new artist so like you know the skang I mean for example let's use example can tell you from skang even before him was running the place with gunm shift me and SK a link it just happened it just happened that maybe publicly it came out there you know enough time I have helping artists who are maybe not the fully established yet even if it don't have nothing to do with my song or my career or whatever just helping them mentoring whatever advice producing whatever it is and people don't know you understand that everything you're going to hear a Russian for example Jay n song one of the biggest song for last year right or nobody know me produce that you didn't know I didn't know exactly cuz sometimes for the song Maybe where the tag would go it don't fit or whatever it is or I don't want it to be a Russian moment the moment is nine and J and then forget the highlight and just say you see me so so so a matter of hot artist it's not a style to none other the artist and but let's be real like my numbers is different from them and it's not even a comparison thing it's just rate them or whatever and and let's be real I'm a businessman if if a if somebody if somebody doing numbers and I'm doing numbers that's even more numbers it's not like go want work with somebody who's doing bad why would I like who want to do that that that case where you check your DM you a bad freestyle or you know okay well look what happened bad freestyle bad artist [ __ ] he has a whole career now the whole world know him now but that but but that's like a and you're right but that's like like a try out and like the fans don't pick him it's like a rising star they voted for him but guess what I don't have to do it could have just say all right look how much people I don't have to do it if I look at it and say y like this is what I want to do it's my production my redem and it's my money spent you see me me arrange the video the clothes to the glass pay for everything he literally left work to go to the video shoot and went back to work and did the video was that shot out here or no that they shoot at New York I wasn't there but so you see me I just say go why you bring about the rhym though it's not the first time you I you with as right um yeah I bring back the r because I just feel like it's time you know it's just music always go in circles just like art and whatever um is there is there new like instruments in it cuz why the name change well name change also for Branding reasons um yeah there's new instruments it's it's 808s 808 wasn't in origin new haats some trap drums a saxophone TJ added the Soxs um um which TJ TJ records TJ no T TJ Tor n brother um I told him to change his name because of that same thing to all right yeah CU then he's in the shadow of TJ but um yeah know a few things are added differently oh a lead a new syn lead it's like eight new things in the r it's authoriz thing Risco was that plan no it wasn't okay so you just get up one day and you just say never authorize this so at the same time as you I think corruption game the man um it did come out and I just know I I saw the comments and I know say yo if if I if I never respond to it like that and say what I said then people would don't want to listen to it so that case it was premeditated in your head like oh we execute this like because it's already out okay you feel me and I can't take it back all right so the live and I Y this Drop Like face I never seen none of that I never SE none of that I saw that after yes so see after did you the phone call make before the live or after the live what phone call when the song drops oh oh oh oh yeah no like after this whole thing and go live send him D any was like yo um because I had him number but I think it was a whole number me and him was cool before and I say yo could shoot this video it and then then now Tri cuz that's what it's a tri honestly that's genius bro because now everybody can Vice thems like back in the day where nobody access to a studio might right no there G Keepers G gers but it's like just part keep but anyways this try you never say artist a and artist a sound good story why like like the no no no not really because watch before everybody there was a lot of people that was already voed onm Raj nigeri malan n name you're calling are like artist supposed to on it in terms of supposed to on it in terms of the heat right now if you get what I mean this going to be a big production it's still a risk true but it's it's low risk no once no every in music everything is a 5050 there's no yo weend there right now and say it's the biggest song this run the place come out tomorrow and tush you can't predict music if you feel like you really predict music you lose it even as man who have had hits over the years and never I will I will be confident about my song and say yo this must hit even though my hit ratio is more than my flop and I'm confident to know what people like sometime sometime you can have the hit song and it dro the wrong time is about timing just like if I felt like I dropped this RM five five months prior to this it wouldn't be what it is because it would have been Maybe overshadowed by big BMS you understand because people already onto that or maybe just not really fully ready for another reading or whatever it is so it's about timing it's about watching the game timing so as I say it can have the biggest song and if it come before it time it don't work okay so Roger yeah I say that's the lead lead song Under youe I agree yeah oh how that process a case where or send over things to you no no no did send that to me voice but the arrangement you hear now is not the arrangement what it was come link me at Miami too and me and him go back and forth about the arrangement cuz the verse was actually the chorus and the verse the verse now is the cor the chorus now it was the verse you see me and me hear it and say no this can't go like this is not catch you enough and me rearrange a song and I guess you don't know when an artist hear maybe them need have to it and kind of like but after a while I guess him say yo you know what you're doing all right we go off for so the chorus now was really diverse and and that's what became yeah and Niger oh oh oh like was it was there any like I would want to work with Russian type Vibe or no I I don't I never get that before like like on this project or in general in general yeah Dem I sayy Grand he doesn't it um turn off um girl me car really recall right now MH yeah I'm sure there's one or two but they probably regret it right now yeah car like Vengeance no hell no not everybody going see the vision I going to expect that there's there's no way even some artists don't see the vision in the own song we have together I mean I tell them say this must it and it's a cool song and then when it hit them oh you did WR or whatever yeah no not car feelings like that unless it's something personal like disrespect so go go read him now sorry D him on right is that offensive like people still mention it as go go I don't know some people funny bro I'm not funny me either yeah but still a question there in no wait what you said like if people like misrepresent it and call it I don't care bro people say what call it what they want once it doing doing the numbers you know I'm good is dance all profitable of course bro is like AP profitable hell yeah real my dance all make a lot of money but then again my dance hall has always been the different ones like we always try and Market it to be more Global like the wine and cot that's a huge song or or the wine slow um Gyptian or it just I just always try and go a different route even when I used to produce cartel I used to try and do less G songs more used you just drop song with him no no used to us in like like coming out yeah like when C was out and we're working a lot you know I never really choose the Badman song them really more like a selfdefense cuz I want the more commercial side more profitable more marketable side look look badman songs the end thing crocodile hit the hot B song always been in bro badman F badman pull up or cartel this man from '90s all of these songs but but but those numbers numbers where a chart chart well Dance all in general CH yeah like a holy or yeah because it's hard for that type of concept to be as um mainstream like all right the most mainstream badman song I think we've seen in the last few years is Tans but if you don't know what I'm saying it's it don't feel the The Melodies don't feel like a Badman song it feel like a Feelgood song you get me it's just when cuz you have enough people who don't know what I'm saying like foreign friend them and they say you know what the dog say say some real thing say oh [ __ ] he's talking about murder you know them don't realize say a Sonics sonically it sound like a cool dance all song yeah yeah you take trap dance era like I feel like you have to experiment and do more what you think with the labeling though calling trap dance uh well I respect that it's still danceall and it's subing but just have to know say danceall is the real thing MH yeah you the TR I don't think so no even though you had 8 and the 8 is not only for dance hall 08 was first made for dance music it's just a it's just a type of synthetic drum CU wine and CCH Baseline is a 808 so what makes it trap that that's a big question I think what make it trap is is maybe it's kind of hard to say but I would I feel like what make it trap is a lot of the songs in it is trap it sound more like a trap beat but with a little bit of danceall grp and maybe the subject matter I don't know yeah CU I don't really ever hear a song and say I don't think in my life ever say yo that's trap Daner I just know say yo I the you try them yeah I feel like some things are just being labeled wrong just because it's like the whole term is out there so like anything new is trap yeah now finish with money who else supposed to drop on video um there's couple top man Mar Baker that's it yeah as far as I know okay but you know this R go tomorrow might have and on so Y is there certain song that you didn't authorize like I'm man send s like N I can't just I'm not getting jiggy to this [ __ ] just saying it yeah of course bro the whole other country sent me a song and you go through all of them I don't it's impossible there's so much I can't go to all them but there's a lot that I didn't like and there's a lot I like like I don't know I don't remember the moment follow J something him sound bad I heard it I heard a prev on Tik Tok before it BW up I link him and I say yo this bad the part that I did like was actually the verse and call him and say yo that can't be the verse that have to be the chorus rewrite the verse them structure it this way and tell him it's a brand new artist I did post it on my Tik Tok it like 1.5 million views after we did rearrange it um so yeah I listened to the man them yeah who you feel the leader of the new school right now both both artist and producer all right producers I'm going to be real like there's not no styling thing I just don't I don't know I don't know much of them because I feel like they're not really marketed out there or maybe I just not hip to them because more following the artist I don't know know I just don't feel like it was like back in the day where you didn't know like genius and you and Jordan and what yeah like maybe maybe our names were said more or something in songs but I feel like there's enough producers now maybe but I just feel like they're more new producer Jiggy is a producer yeah yeah [ __ ] is a producer yeah Jiggy I know TJ Tor um DJ ma um Messi Mah or some like that yeah I meet him one time yeah through the same you them who have the drink I think yeah yeah and and I think black would manage him too but it's not like what was the question if who are the leader leaders I wouldn't know who's the leaders I wouldn't know to say like yo this man is leading I wouldn't know but I've heard of those so I don't know who's the leader either a new school you don't know you have the Valiant you have the skang you have the Roger um I feel like all the you them leading right now mhm but I think the problem with dance all is that the man always want to pick one person for lead I think that's actually matching up the whole genre because one man can't push a genre no matter how big you is one man is not pushing hipop one man is not pushing Latin music one man not pushing afro one man not pushing pop it's consecutively 10 to 15 and the problem with what we have in Jamaica is oh him alone around the place music can't be that big one man it have to be it have to be eight hot artists pushing at one time so the world can say what is this movement because trust me it's 20 hot afro artists not just burner boy yeah for sure you understand it's whiskey there so much exactly so as we was saying we need that we need to come out to the mentality if we really love the music and want it grow come out a mentality of saying one man I think it's a cultural thing talk good or Chris no good at all like yeah but realistically we have to support all of the man even if even if y that man my favorite artist we still support other because and it's not only that it's mentally you have to think say yo all right let's use Valiant if Valiant around the place the man need a break you know to think to live his life to enjoy him Life to Live him family life to think of new music and during that time when can respect and say yo all right maybe him stop for 4 months and him creating new music just like when Drake drop and disappear or yeah exactly respect the artist them the people not really give that respect and feel like yo it's robots where the man just constantly just press a button and song come out new topic new this yo like three song in a row fall off no dog think about it then money go to work every night toward all of this is humans and it's not like we work on a 9 to5 death job where we click calculator 5 plus 5 and we get studio and canas supped tot the greatest song to you every single time that [ __ ] is hard plus them have them regular family stress the artist them have to take care of new people now new responsibilities new baby mother new whatever yeah so speaking of that what's your life like rockar life you know say like um no rockar in terms of what I know smoke a bag of weed drink not smoke or Drinker I even eat meat where pause but yeah Big yeah but no I never eat meat in my life like no no goat no ham no um none of that never ever only only fish yeah right parents yeah my father was a um a raser and obviously when I reach a certain age say you can eat whatever you want but that was cooked in the house it wasn't it wasn't cooked in the house and um when never yeah I just it never appealed to me you see me and it just continue my life so like your lifestyle you a Playboy lifestyle um Playboy lifestyle Define playboy lifestyle I go outside yeah we outside right now bachelor lifestyle I wouldn't say bachelor lifestyle but we living our life you don't know M we have experiences is it oh God so 2024 what can say is is next for Russian I can't tell you I don't want to give up my hand just know say yo more music more content more Vibes all type of music more artists yeah positive yeah just turning it up so why if he labels now like spend the money like them us to spend on on on music in general no dance a big artist tell me already said Dan is not cool anymore like yeah regga is not cool anymore reg or Dan Dana dance a big artist Dance all is cool bro everywhere in the world go dance all respected what dance the new dance no dance all in all just the culture of danceall Jamaica and danceall is cool it's always been cool MH nobody can't tell me we set the trend enough of the enough of the music we look up to and I say yo them is actually watching us all of them so it is cool what I think is difference now is maybe it's not as Financial as profitable as the other gen because goes back to what I'm saying it's a niche of the people who actually love dance all and they not streaming it as much but the reason that is if if if 10 artists is popping at this time like 10 hot and pushing the genre going blow up the same where afro have 10 hot man and it blow up pause we talking music PA all right whatever so AF right yeah now people always make the argument say Africa is bigger than Jamaica Nigeria has 200 million people I mean that does Factor it how America is a fair is a fair platform Jamaicans are more in America than than Nigerians you know that right yes yeah yeah we are we're like a million plus like Niger Nigerians like just not a million for sure and where where were these African artists when sha Paul number one when shag go number one being Hot 100 like well you have to understand say sha Paul and Shaggy singing more more commercial music so versus um let's say one sha Paul song them like um so in love so to you or what you call let's just get get busy get busy it's it's sonically it's easier to listen to that maybe like a a dark gun song M you know but then you see good song s not not saying others are not but then you see some songs that share sonically similarities to that do good like um Sur no games the uh um Gyptian hold you um Omi song these song still doing good because it's just you have to understand it's a familiarity thing when the people them are foreign here Dance all that song like the the '90s '90s and 2000 what them know oh yo that sound like that Jamaican [ __ ] and also it's it's the chords are very similar and think so them like that maybe they not really fully accepting to the new ones yet because it don't really sound like that M so that's why you see think about any song that been working it kind of have that sound yeah that's why I go back to even Taliban it's a bad man song but it song commercially the the Comm I don't think so bro I'm be real with you that's that's what you think that's fine if we go and play the average white girl in America with the talibans and don't know what it's saying it sound like a commercial melodies the the D bro come on that's nursery rhymes probably look it from a guy who understand exactly that's what I'm saying sonically remember when them I hear all the dance music them don't necessarily understand the lyrics but sonically it sounds like what them used to mhm drift is commercials sonically and it have a dance that's what they used I feel the thing I feel like we have enough of these songs in the space but at the same time don't get that engine why the don't no the No No in in the last two years I would say it's probably the best day Dance all been in in terms of interest from the labels because 5 years ago No Label was even caring about signing a dance hall act mhm to be real and I'm someone who with label are they signing the AR they signing the song they're doing both m in hopes of the artist cuz they're investing in the artist to you know they're doing both but the thing is like more labels are they're still looking it's still good now but as I say if we have more artists doing right thing what they what is making it successful you will see more investment it's just like a new business you start tomorrow you not just go buy let's say you start a gardening company you're not just going buy a 100 lmow you going buy two and say all right cut some and see oh there's a demand I feel my point is that we were there we was never there we had number ones Shan Paul had number ones shagi had number one yes but it was had two still one man at the Time Imagine 100 IM imagine when sha Paul was hot M of course he's still hot but you know what I mean like pause yo anyways imagine when sha Paul was Blazing up the charts and hot we had seven of them because the label the label at the time when he's on fire get artist of the year all them thing them looking for the next person that sound similar to that but there wasn't that who was there baby sham there that time Ed F man was there baby sham does not sing the music shaing but bab had had a breakthrough a big one that but that's still two bro as I say we need 15 to 20 artist it was never around the same time get and those are one songs true but it's still it's still it's still a no bro you have to understand it's it's still a business when the man them do run analystics and everything it's not just saying back to we're not signing the song We're signing the artist maybe they see the man only with one song and say yo let's see if it's let they will say all right yo We Like This Way song Let's see if his next song is going to be as and if the next song tush they say okay it was just this one song and then sign that one song and keep it moving cuz it's business them I deal with you can't fight a man for doing business how him feel when they're investing they're investing million and they want make money exactly so question why when like other people do it like the Rihanna and the Jus B them samp thing them use the reg inspired beats and it work why is it working an hour hour why don't the label say let's go to the home the me of this song all right when me just start de with the labels I remember a label said to me oh Russian you're one of the easiest Jamaicans have about to De so what you mean so yo most of the Jamaicans either off not on time or or they're unprofessional or whatever it is that's what the Mana said to me mhm and so they go by their experience maybe the experience they had with whichever artist it didn't work out good and put a bad taste in their mouth you see me pause I didn't want to say it bro but it's not my it's you see me but you see me I I I that g really and it's just it's just not maybe at the time not as profitable it's just maybe a few songs were but there's interest in the genre it can be done I'm tell you right now if we have 15 man running the thing a be in problem but question though no this my take right cuz I look upon other black genres a hip hop person right you have a exit Like a Bird Man P um you know even R&B the LA reads the baby face and then all of these these names they're either B by Universal or Clive Davis or whatever the case may be I feel like when Dan at it Peak like even shab and Sh and yeah but why they never start an imprint it's not that it's maybe the people I don't think the people at the time were even thinking that mhm you understand yeah as it goes back to there's music and music business the man maybe not preing the business that way they were just preing all eyes on Sean not saying this is the case or Allies on this and whatever it is or maybe the labels at the time just didn't trust them to give them that responsibility yeah they might say manone might just go and [ __ ] off with the money and just run it up buy some new chain and thing so you feel the solution the the the not this one person R the show thing like we have 10 people that's the solution and not fighting each other and not comparing like yo Who had who this who that just know say yo we all try accomplish the same thing it needs some form of unity even doing a show you know like there there needs to be a a Caribbean tour of the the the 10 biggest Dance Hall artist tour in the Caribbean first showing the world like yo we sell this Arena as Caribbean people sell out the stadium then we say all right we're going move this tour to this country and that country there has to be that to create a movement how you ex people to believe in the movement if we not even showing them there's a movement see beling for a lot of people Shand right go there real quick Shand trust me we get Shand Mas have beef right youever work M like after cuz he's doing good work with him after um yeah me and him him did some all they're not out yet oh recent yeah like probably last between year to two so like a bad energy from them time there but was there a B Energy ever begin with no when sh say didn't mention my name song but bleep the name him said the drive by something something and want a Russ my name bleep but you could tell because of the rhyme um and then sign remember him so cons me conscience is like this bring him around and we never too pre we never pre nothing against him it was just like oh bro as I said not really hold a grudge against a man if if if if it's not no direct this physical or not no disrespect on the internet like a suck mother argument if there anything like that then that can't delete it just de can't yeah well feel like that's really everything for now cuz feel like you have more things said The more more rhythms to come out this year work with yeah no more more rhs more production more songs singles everything any any collaboration you want any producers out there no not not off the top of my head no M all right well people find on Instagram Tik Tok Russian with a V with a V yeah let's be honest we're gone man good [Music] don't
