coming feel like this is like housekeeping to mention I feel like I should really mention it today um cuz the the Mario Kart wheel highlights went up in the channel right uh tonight that is the last video releasing before the best of RT game 2023 uh that is going to be releasing on Saturday and that is the last video for a while that's going to be it that as soon hope everyone's excited you're going to have a like enormous movie of the entire year for a video for the next [Music] while so I hope everyone is excited for that her te found dead in January it's my last video guys that's it we're we're [ __ ] dead after this I won't be seeing you in 2024 I'm not going to make [Music] it oh it's been an absolutely insane year though I I don't know how many people remember how this year began with like rampant YouTube crisis mode uh um because that that's how that's how we reigned in the new year last year like oh everything's demonetized and guess guess I'll die that's how we started 2023 the first video like is just everything is dead that was the start of this year uh I'm happy to report that since then though like literally nothing has been flagged we've been okay and safe since but Jesus you know like what it's it's been a hell of a year very very Rocky start um but we have played some of my alltime favorite games on the channel this year uh tears of the Kingdom has been I mean I think that's my favorite thing I've ever streamed we finished Persona it was this year we had multitude of Rhythm games Pokemon black and white to more Pokemon scarlet and violet DLC we beat SEO we had a green screen Shenanigans we had the V Trooper model this year uh and you're going to be able to see all of that again one more time uh with the best of video on uh on Saturday coming soon T to Pikachu who could forget game of a year uh but it's it's been it's been a crazy year yeah considering especially where it started um it it has been it's been a wild one but um I'll be saying this again just in the next few streams uh thank you everyone for the support as ever seriously uh this year in particular like like I know this year like it's spoke support from like the community here and even like the larger YouTube Community because of all the YouTube [ __ ] at the start of the year I there were a lot of people kind of vouching for that whole situation we want the this proper it's going to come up me Mario there he is it's a him and this game came out in 2004 it's almost 20 years old Super Mario 64 DS this is like the version I think a lot of us grew up with of this game and in my opinion this is the [ __ ] best version but in my opinion this is the best version of this game uh cuz this version actually has extra content which none of the ports of Mario 64 actually have this one has 30 extra Stars this one has 150 Stars Mo all other versions only have 120 this has multiple playable [Music] characters this one has mini games which could have been its own game in of itself this is where like Luigi playing poker comes from and you can draw on Mario's face look at this like you can just mess him up a bit if you so choose or you can just kind of go freestyle send him into the Vo there let's get a nice portrait we we have touchscreen technology we're playing this with real Hardware this is my real copy of this game that I got I mean I would have got this when I was 9 years old jesz I even thinking about that is kind of scary had this a long while I was never really good at drawing Mario um Let me let me just try and follow the stencil best I [Music] can there's his [Music] nose I think they've only poured this version of the game like once as well and it's for Wii U so you you can Hazard a guess how that went just Hazard a guess there I the game's off okay let's PL go on an adventure these are actually so my old Safe Fall I played this game a lot back in the day like my last go it would probably would have been like at least 10 years comical High Jinks ensue Luigi has concussion but we're not interested in any of them cuz for this game you start as [Music] Yoshi listen Mario hasn't returned yet we'd say he's missing but we we don't want to remember that property it's so crunchy yes it is I mean it's probably less crunchy than the actual N64 version Look at this we got touchcreen uh we have like there's like you can use touchscreen controls if you want like full analog otherwise you can just use the d-pad and kind of just roughly improvise It audio okay soundtrack this this is the version of Mario that I grew up playing audio is good okay so like we we got to play it how many people here have never seen this one of Mario 64 cuz like you probably think I'm playing like a rom hack right now need a key to open this door a lot of people haven't seen this one okay you're in for a treat cuz like this version does you do not it does not see the light of day that [Music] often oh looks like the doors are locked him Yoshi like the castle just kind of you kind of just unlock [ __ ] as you go uh this is probably the most important room in the castle over here so we're just going to like unlock this one right away look at this like this is this is unique to this version here's your character select screen like Luigi is screaming on the other side cuz he can't get out Mario desperately needs your help Wario Wario is just a bit of aggressive for some reason maybe you should keep him locked up everything is quiet on the other side want to see another another huge [Music] secret iconic level do I have to get every coin for something I actually can't [Music] remember I don't think so think I'm okay I think I got the extra Star as well for doing it fast enough that's like the time trial [Music] star yeah we can just continue I I broke my own rule saving it but we should be fine should be fine nothing bad will happen we got that for going too fast I remember really struggling with these as a kid but like this would have been like my first Mario like 3D [Music] game like it was this and then like Galaxy would have been like my first two and then went back to Sunshine thought I love sunshine apparently I was very incorrect as a child um as were we all as where we are but like this this would have been the first one here's the regular [Music] star Bianco boys represent this is one of the castle secret stars and there's like extra secret stars basically throughout the game you can open any door with a three on it also come and go between all the worlds in the first floor but where is Mario does Yoshi have to save him too in case the Adventure Continues I think it's really cute that you like don't start like as Mario for like you know Mario 64 it's like a Twist here's perhaps the most important room in the castle this like this room is its own Game Hub in of itself his toad [ __ ] up and lost all the keys all the rabbits around the castle have stolen them uh this is the recck room where you can save your adventure anytime and actually just go play mini gamess like there's there's so much in here like you want some Nostalgia remember this oh wait it cut out hang on capture carrots having a having a little trouble today Luigi this is the wet mini [Music] game with the same like notes just looping forever and not I actually can't find him I'm [Music] blind like you could get this game and just spend all your time like here and you the the value for money is like still [Music] there like this was this was the real reason to get this game is just the mini games it's such a good time we're going to we're going to back out of it just cuz there's so many here we will revisit some later but you can unlock even more mini games every character has their own section with mini games you can unlock most notably this is where Luigi poker comes from Luigi works in the casino this was this was my first introduction the gambling back in in the [Music] day just play against Luigi yo Nintendo they can't let this stuff kind of fly anymore where it's like play poker with Luigi uh because I believe there's gambling laws against that now but it was such a fun mini game it's so much fun oh three of a kind get destroyed [Music] Luigi this is actually IL legal poker not Texas hold of yes this isn't this isn't quite poker actually is it you have to out five cards immediately but look Luigi's doing his best you know it's hard to run a casino you you could spend all your time just here like look at all the Luigi gambling mini games too there's a lot of them there's so many there's all the Mario ones there's all the Yoshi ones the Yoshi ones are all really different this is an iconic one you might like like this was you could spend hours on this this is where you're trying to like you have to try and get lack to as well for like the bonus he explodes them [Music] all I I could I could actually spend like an hour just playing [Music] this you know like like I I could just keep going with that yeah like you could just spend all your time Mario 64 here whatever reason Wario really messed up compared to the rest of the gang he's lost like almost all his mini games Luigi was the most responsible he only lost like two slot machines yeah like like this this room is fantastic you can spend so much time here just playing the mini games I I love it I think there's a star in here [Music] too oh it's tra of Delino plasm music as well God I didn't even notice that as a [Music] kid it's just Sunshine Music yeah so this is like one of the extra stars that they add it I just I just never noticed that as a kid I [Music] guess get them [Music] Stars [Music] I think there's a bird that's got one got to you got to like pinch it off them camera can be a bit mean but they give you a touch screen for the for the camera controls in this one cuz you're on the DS you got to use that to like loop around grab that back cuz we dropped it [Music] All Stars gone there we go it's so cute that they just have like extra rooms like this just makes the adventure feel a bit new especially if you like play the original one for me though this is my first time so I just thought this was normal for like Mario 64 but I remember like seeing the game like agdq and thinking like hang on a minute like like why are like the rooms different what do you mean there's no recck room cuz I think in like Mario 64 when you just go upstairs here I think it's just the princess's secret slide and like that's [Music] it I remember being amazed the first time I saw it I like what do you mean that room's different but that's the character select [Music] screen oh what's here Castle is in great Peril I know it's because of Bowser again will he never Tire of terrorizing us stole the Castle's power stars and disappeared into the walls along with us all the power stars from the walls and the paints in the castle as a hint there are secret paths in this room and one of them leads to a secret star find the secret star will help you on your quest fate of the world is on Yoshi's shoulders they're in the walls my God okay well we'll go should we go World by world how do how do we want to do this there's like so many like doors just already I feel like we should go like place by Place go back to B onb [Music] Battlefield do to the speedrun route yeah let me let me just get the optimal amount of stars here here's the CP of the quick race you know where Mario is I've been looking for but he's nowhere to be found you don't look like you're busy if you don't mind would you bring Mario here thanks uh so to do this cuz Mario Mario is like canonically dead like he's been buried in the walls as far as the game is concerned they are Goombas with hats and they let you become the other characters and that's how you can now like unlock their abilities but temporarily as you go it's funny with the sound effects cuz your original character sound effects will still overlap so Mario just sounds a lot like Yoshi [Music] today it isn't Mar a long time no see you put on a few pounds since I last saw you which P her and loua she really gets some exercise how about to playground rumors back in the day for us where it's like you can unlock Luigi in the Mario game and it was like oh no way that can't be true like yeah you got to get through the haunted house like oh dude not the haunted house that's a scary [Music] level it was a very big deal as a kid like the other was like did you know that like depending on when you jump into the Clock IT sets the speed of the levels like oh no that that can't be real they wouldn't do that yeah [Music] uh playground rumors were wild like we were all kids like we had our own versions of them it was of course you under the truck stuff who didn't have that one I feel like this was like the other game in like our group that like had a lot of rumors around it big one was like yeah you can unlock Waluigi you can't you absolutely can't unlock while Luigi he's just not in the game but because like the setup with the doors he like yeah you can make that one colored [Music] purple liar I unlocked him oh sorry sorry we stand corrected no I have them in my safe file [Music] for bits I remember some rumors for this game as well I was about it was about using the cannon in front of the castle to shoot into the Big Peach picture to unlock Peach I remember that one y there's like a level there big bomb's [Music] Revenge we have to unlock the Cannons for this too help youself repair all the canons in this course for you to use bonvoyage thank you friend ready for Blast Off is he the fast way up the mountain just send ourselves on over and we missed it actually just going to take longer [Music] now that's all from Bowser also resty my mustache I'm unstoppable you want the Power Star you have to knock it out of me only way to do that is to pick me up from behind and fling me down and that will never happen the biggest hurdle in this fight is purely the camera [Music] keep running circles and we're good that hurt your sneaking skills need help but you're pretty strong always wanted a servant like you here's your star's promise take it farewell the Mario Dark Souls camera the camera in this game is Just lacking to as well he's just following you they that from like the [Music] intro retrieve eight stairs you can now open the door with an eight on it door in the back of Princess Toad's recck room will open what looms in the back of the secret room haven't forgotten about Mario have you actually remember this being like the hardest star in the game for me as a kid great penguin race I think that's because I didn't realize you could just press forward to accelerate [Music] he calls you out if ride is like unused acid it's thrown together it really is yeah it's such a hard world and it's mainly because just the level is so [Music] punishing oh that's unfortunate come come on Wario you can do it have your Luigi hat [Music] it's w over that that perception is unfortunately quite tricky in some levels which is an obvious problem for a 3D [Music] platformer I don't think it's too much better even in the original 64 version though I don't know if it gets better how did you not make that jump Wario it is kind of shocking when you look back at Mario games like we had this with Sunshine too we're like death perception is really horrible for a platformer there's still revolutionary games for what they did but you would have thought that would have been like you know more top of the priority list [Music] wow I mean cuz it's a nonissue in like Galaxy and odyssey as well like later games like you really don't have to worry about it bit of an issue in 3D Land and 3D World sometimes [Music] starget pretty awkward in the N64 while the camera be con strained it was rough in some places you have to bear in mind that for the Nintendo 64 like that is a controller that is designed to be held with three hands which you know was always a bit unfortunate you need a you need like a second player just so you can get easy access to all the buttons I I don't know if Wario is going to make this he's going to try I think he's dead oh there we go yeah here here's the Mario hat it's like you're going you're just going to want this you're you're just going to have a tough time volcano ones are a little bit cruel just because you can fall down lose all your progress forgot about that that's so mean gotcha I don't know if that like even exists as a prop in like any other world in this game I think it's might just be there like like once or twice just to really keep you on your [Music] toes wow buil nothing but a smashing trap in the active volcano like it's just
