[Music] welcome back to the royalty mod tutorials today we are going over peasantry in order to play as a peasant the very first thing you'll need to do is to load into your lots and come up here into build by mode and come up here to give it the correct lot trait if we scroll down down you can find this lot trait here peasant home this lot trait is vital when playing as a peasant because this adds the trader and the tax collector and they will come once a week your Sims your peasant Sims can trade with the trader obviously and they will have to pay taxes to the tax collector also any Royal or Noble will get an uncomfortable Buff when they are on a peasant lot okay first let's go through the peasant rabbit holes if you click on your peasant Sim come up here to royalty mod and click here on peasant rabbit holes now you can see you have a few options here if you choose to go Barn raising or hanging out in a town square or at a local Tavern um you'll just get a buff afterwards however if you visit the religious service and you have lumpen news rambunctious religions mod installed you will gain the skill associated with that mod and if you visit the local butcher your sim will actually come back with some meat so let's just send it to the butcher for now and there you go you can see that she's come back with some meat that she can cook with so I'll get into Auto traits in a future video but for now if your sim has the peasant Auto trait they will have a specific career available to them if you come here to Artisan this is the job that is available for peasants now this job actually has several branches within it so in order to access all of these branches you will need to just get the base Artisan job and these are the branches that are available once they get a promotion up to level two of The Artisan Apprentice so the first job here is blacksmith second job is Carpenter third job is cobbler then we have farer Loco motion Smith and watch maker there are however other ways peasants can provide for themselves they can go hunting or they can scavenge the land for food and in order to do that what you need to do is click on your peasant come up here to royalty mod come up here to Peasant and choose either go hunting or scavenge the land for food as she went and bought meat earlier I will choose scavenge the land for food instead okay she's just returned and she's found some food but not only has she found food she's found seeds as well which is great for her for gardening so it turns out she got some strawberry seeds which she's opened up here now she can plant these strawberries here because um she got them from a seed packet however if she tries to plant any of the food that she scavenged she'll actually find that she's not able to and I did this deliberately to make it a little bit harder for your peasants to survive to add um a bit of difficulty to your gameplay now there are a couple things I would like to get into with hunting because it's not as simple as going hunting and coming back with meat so the first thing is is that it is season dependent if you have seasons if your sim goes out hunting in the winter they're going to come back with less meat compared to if they went hunting in the summer another thing is that if you have little Bob Bub's old cookbook mod your sim will actually come back with different meat from hunting in the spring they will come back with squirrels wild turkeys hairs wild chickens and small rabbits in the summer they'll come back with squirrels wild turkeys hairs wild chickens and wild balls in the fall they'll come back with squirrels Ducks hairs wild chickens and Stags and in the winter they will only come back with duck pigeon and chicken if you don't have this mod then they will just come back with white or red meat if your sim would prefer a less honest way of making a living they can also choose to pick pocket Sims they can either pick pocket money or food in order to pick pocket a Sim all you need to do is have your peasant selected click on the Sim you would like to pick pocket come up here to more choices and pickpocket and you should have pickpocket food here as well if you wanted to do that so I'm just going to pick pocket money from her there you go she just there you go she just grabbed it and she got 22 simoleons by doing that once the Sim has been pick pocketed recently you cannot pickpocket them again for about 24 hours you can also pickpocket food from maret stores on the royalty Mod download page you may notice that there is also an option to download a file called literacy if you download this and put it in your game this means that Sims will not be able to read by default and they need to learn to read to practice learning to read all you need to do is click on your sim who is literate come up here to more choices more choices and just find practice reading and they will just practice reading as you can see they are gaining the literacy skill until they learn to read options like reading something from a bookcase or any interactions on a computer will be grayed out and your sim will not be able to perform that interaction if your sim is a level five at literacy then they will be able to Mentor other Sims who are performing this interaction so until they reach level five your sim can practice reading using the interaction shown if your sim is a child you can come over here and click on purchase books and scroll about halfway down to L and you will find literacy book children will be able to use this and they'll write in it like they write in their homework books once a Sim has maxed the literacy skill they will be able to read if you have the peasant lot enabled you will get this Sim called Trader Jacks come a couple times a week he comes every Sunday Wednesday and Friday and your Sims can trade the produce that they've grown anything they've made on The Woodworking table or anything they've foraged or found so as my sim has foraged some Goods we are just going to sell those to him you can click on him and come here to the trade menu and sell items and these are the plants that she's foraged oh and the meat of course and she can sell any of these that she wants she has two carrots we will sell the red meat and the white meat and that'll be good for now she'll get 89 Simons for doing that and there you go they have been removed from her um inventory and she got 89 simoleons now if you want to buy things from him just come here to trade and purchase items and as you can see he has a variety of items so we'll just buy a few things from him a potatoes and tomatoes and a plantain there we go you can indeed plant the things you get get from Trader Jacks unlike the items that you forage next up is the tax collector he will come around every Friday morning pay no attention to the fact that it's Wednesday I've just adjusted my code for this tutorial his name is Reginald mcook and he will always announce his arrival taxes will cost your peasants 100 simoons if they don't have 100 simoons then Reginald will take whatever they have in order to pay your taxes just click on Reginald as your peasant come up here to royalty mod and pay taxes there we go and he'll be back next week the taxes that are paid by peasants to Reginal mcook won't actually go into the taxes that the Monarch collects every week I still working on getting those two pair up correctly okay that is it for today's tutorial I hope you enjoyed it and you join me for the next one thank you for watching e
