before your ultimate Cruise vacation can begin you've got to do the check-in process and we've got a step-by-step walkthrough of what you need to do up next [Music] hey everyone it's Matt from welcomeblog.com although the multi-step process the check-in for your Royal Caribbean cruise might seem a little daunting the good news is it's actually really easy and it will save you a ton of time if you do it at home instead of waiting to do it when you get to the cruise terminal there are two parts to the Royal Community check-in process the online check-in and then of course checking out the cruise terminal online check-in is the first step and it's where you're going to input all your documentation and credit card information and then select an all-important arrival time at the terminal the second part is when you get to embarkation day upon arrival to cruise terminal your documentation will be checked and you'll pass through a brief security screening before you know it you're going to be on board and ready for an awesome vacation so we wanted to provide you because we've got a lot of questions about this how to easily go through the Royal Caribbean check-in process let's start off with the online check-in because the online checking process opens 45 days prior to when your cruise begins it's really good idea to put a notification in your calendar on the exact date check-in opens so you can complete the process as soon as possible more on that why it's important later both the Royal equipment website and the Royal Caribbean app will list the exact date the online check-in opens for your cruise so it's really easy to know exactly when 45 days is all you have to do is simply sign into your rollerman account and view your upcoming cruises if your cruise does not show up on the website or app you can link the sailing to your account by adding your reservation number and surname there and then it'll appear over there before you actually do the check-in process there's a couple things you're going to have handy number one personal information for everybody checking in online identification documentation information for each guest checking in a picture of each guest checking in for security purposes Crown and Anchor Society membership number if you're already a member and your onboard expense account information basically a credit card you'll need to input your legal name birthday and address of each person you're checking in online so be sure to check and then double check the information is correct before hitting some submit the last thing you're going to be inputting is your debit or credit card information while on board or locrian Crews you use your C pass card to make any payments as opposed to carrying around your personal debit or credit card or even cash for that matter your cpass will be linked to whichever card you input during the online check-in process at the end of the cruise your personal card will be charged the total amount of all purchases made on board and don't worry if you're sharing a cabin with somebody or you want to change the credit card you can always do so once you get on board the ship not a problem now another important step of completing Royal Caribbean's online check-in is selecting a check-in time all guests on a real cream Cruise select the check-in time which indicates the time they will arrive at the cruise terminal on embarkation day the earliest check-in times are usually around 10 30 a.m and the latest around 2 30 PM you can select the check-in time yourself but slots are reserved on a first come first serve basis unsurprisingly most people hope to get the earliest check-in time possible for their Cruise which means snagging one of these spots becomes more competitive getting an early check-in time is the main reason I release just keeping track of the day online the check-in opens for your cruise the earlier you start the check-in process the better chance you'll have at getting an earlier check-in time now should you do the check-in on the rokuan website or should you use the Royal Caribbean app although you can complete real creams online checking process on either the website or the app I think it's your best idea to use the app for a couple reasons number one you you can use the royal green app to scan your passport instead of inputting information manually this really helps save time especially if you're checking in more than one person second using your phone instead of a computer makes uploading a security photo much easier you can take and upload a selfie photo directly from your phone to the App instead of having to transfer the photo to your computer first and lastly by using the real criminal app I think this is the most important one you can quickly select a check-in time without going through the entire check-in process when you go through the website you have to complete all parts of the check-in process before selecting a check-in time the app allows you to get a check-in time first and then complete the rest of the process later on super helpful in case you're wondering what happens if you forget to do the online check-in and the online check-in process closes about 48 hours prior to your sailing so if you forget to do the online check-in process before your cruise you can complete it at the cruise terminal on immigration day obviously I advise against waiting to check in until you arrive at the cruise terminal because not only will it take much more time to do so but the online check-in process is so easy that it does not make sense to wait until embarkation day to check in so you could do it but I don't recommend it so you've done your online check-in but what should you do now between what you just completed the online check-in and our broadcasting day there are a few things you can do to prepare for embarkation day in the weeks leading up to your cruise first of all you can always Reserve travel and hotel Arrangements it's a really good idea to make travel and hotel Arrangements several months before your cruise but if you haven't made arrangements a month before your cruise begins well you really want to do so ASAP if you're flying to a cruise port be sure to arrive the night before your cruise to allow an extra wiggle room in case of flight delays or cancellations arriving the day before means you'll have to book a hotel in your application City and it's best to do so sooner rather than the last minute those driving to the cruise should research parking options and the best routes for getting to the cruise port I prefer parking directly at the careersport for convenience but you may find cheaper parking options in the port surrounding area next research your ship and ports of call it's super helpful to research your cruise ship and itinerary before your vacation begins in the months leading up to your cruise research the activities entertainment dining venues and layouts you're better prepared once on board one of the easiest ways to become familiar with your cruise ship is by watching well cruise ship tours here on YouTube these informative tours provide a full walkthrough of the cruise ship in allowing you to learn everything about what the ship has to offer and we have a number of cruise ship video tours right here on our welcome blog channels to check them out because having an idea what's offered on your cruise ship helps make sure you don't miss out on any unique activities and programming during the sailing whether trying the indoor skydiving simulator or watching an aqua theater show you're going to want to know all about it in addition to researching your cruise ship spend time learning about the ports of call on your itinerary researching Shore Excursion options the top things to do in each port and info about local culture and cuisine mean can greatly enhance your time onshore during the cruise something else you're going to need to do right before the cruise begins is fill out the health questionnaire form this questionnaire asks if you've had any symptoms of illness within the past 10 days including nausea sore throat cough and muscle aches the questionnaire aims to ensure that everybody getting on board is healthy thus lessening the risk of a contagious virus spreading on board now answering yes to any symptoms on the list could result in denial of boarding my advice is if you want to answer yes to any of these stop what you're doing don't fill out the questionnaire wait until you get to the cruise terminal and speak to somebody about it you can get a little more context because the app will lock you out at that point the health questionnaire can be completed in the Royal Caribbean app and you'll receive a notification the day before your cruise stating the health questionnaire is ready to fill out if you forget to fill it out you'll be asked the same questions of the person once in the terminal again save yourself some time do it beforehand now let's talk about what to expect on the check-in process on embarkation day today is coming it's time to board your Royal creating Cruise completing the online check-in is so important because does it makes everything super quick once you get to the terminal moving thousands of passengers through the cruise terminal and I know cruise ship is a massive undertaking but Royal Caribbean has streamlined the process to make it as seamless as possible nonetheless it's helpful to know how the check-in process works at the cruise terminal to ensure that you're best prepared for embarkation day let's start with arriving at the terminal you should arrive at your terminal at your schedule check-in time on an application day most Cruise terminals adhere to schedule check-in times although it is possible you can arrive earlier and be admitted to the cruise terminal as to whether or not it will work for you your mileage may vary there's no guarantees one way or another there are several ways to arrive at the cruise terminal on ambarkation day if you're driving I recommend arriving early to ensure you can find a parking spot and be the traffic for those that flew to the cruise port you know Uber or Lyft is your best option for traveling to the airport or your hotel from there to the cruise terminal regardless of Transportation method make sure you're traveling to the correct Cruise terminal some cities have several Cruise terminals in them and they may even be located miles away from each other confirming the terminal ads address via the royal green website or by looking through your cruise electronic documents which is a PDF document that Royal can send to you prior to your sailing date some ports like Port Everglades and Port Canaveral use digital signage at the port to indicate which terminal you should go to to board your ship the next thing you're going to do is drop off your luggage before entering the cruise terminal drop any suitcases and heavy luggage with the porters Porters work at the cruise terminal take your luggage and deliver it to the ship this frees you of having to Lug those suitcases on board yourself which makes the embarkation process a little bit easier each piece of luggage you give to the porters must have a luggage tag which tells crew members where to deliver the suitcase on the ship print and attach luggage tags at home or you can wait until you get to the cruise terminal where a porter will write the correct information on a luggage tag and attach it to your suitcase now keep in mind Porter services are free but it's expected you will tip them anywhere between one and two dollars per bag yeah it's a couple of extra dollars trust me it's well worth it lugging your luggage around the ship is just not fun after you drop off your luggage the next thing you should do is take your identification documents out of your carry-on bag you're going to need them to show them several times in the cruise terminal and have them ready as soon as you enter the terminal can really help speed up the process additionally have your set cell pass ready to scan on your phone or print out your set sail pass acts as a boarding pass to board your ship and you can find it on the royal green app under the check-in tab there are several lies you're going to need to enter the cruise terminal through and support and make sure you enter the correct line if you're staying in a suite look for the sweets only line is the slide it'll be quicker than the standard boarding line and yes if you were in a junior suite this counts if you purchase the key which of course is a popular cruise ship add-on in the last priority boarding look for a tall blue sign indicating the entrance for key guess everybody else needs to go through the standard boarding line next will be documentation and Security checks because each Cruise terminal has slightly different layout but it's likely you'll be asked to show your sale pass and ID several times throughout the process depending on the terminal you may be required to show your set sail pass on the cruise terminal entrance what's inside the terminal you'll enter an additional line to have your identification documents and set cell pass checked by Cruise Terminal Employees because of this it's really helpful keep your passport or whatever other ID you've got on hand at all times until you finish the entire check-in process this helps avoid taking your passport in and out of your bag several times in the cruise terminal you're also required to go through security in the cruise terminal fortunately security screening for a cruise is not as intense as the TSA is at the airport yes your shoes can stay on and it only takes a couple of minutes once you go through security and have it all documentation checked you may encounter a brief weight in the cruise terminal until you can board the ship this is more common if you're getting a very very early check-in time as the ship may not have opened the gang way for passengers yet it's unlikely you'll be waiting for long though as there's plenty of chairs to stay comfortable with as you wait to board as soon as your group is called for boarding get your set sale pass ready and have it scanned once exited in the terminal and then walk on board the ship and kick off your vacation the right way you can do things the right way there's one more thing you really should do and get it knocked out as soon as you can once on board and that is the e-muster drill before heading immediately the pool deck for a rum and coke really do yourself a favor complete the e-muster drill every guest must complete a mustard drill before a cruise ship can set sail this safety briefing ensures that passengers know what to do and where to go in case of an emergency on board and there's three parts number one watch a life jacket safety video number two listen to the emergency horn sound and number three go to your muster station on board so you know where it is the first two steps can be completed in either the Royal Korean app or under staterooms television third step must be completed in person on the ship your muster station is indicated in the Royal command app and on the back of your cabin's door so there you have it that's all you need to do after completing the online checking getting through the cruise terminal and checking off all parts of the mustard drill it's officially time for your crucification to begin if the check-in process seems overwhelming I promise it's not nearly as difficult as it may sound once you arrive at the cruise terminal there are dozens of workers available to answer any questions you have plus the terminal is full helpful signage indicating where to go now they have a better idea of what to expect you'll be prepared with documents in hand and that early check-in time which should make the process even more efficient overall it only takes about 10-15 minutes to complete the online check-in and around 30 minutes to an hour to go through the cruise terminal it's really easy quicker than you think and once you get a hang of it it's not difficult at all so do yourself a favor do all that stuff online before the cruise begins that way the cruise terminal experience is super fast let me know in the comments if I missed anything of any
